What do you think it is that makes a lot of Americans like some of the various British accents so much?

I thought that if a British man speaks with an upper-class accent then Americans think he's gay - therefore, the American gays like that. :dunno:

There is a very posh upper-class Brit actor, Rupert Everett, who's gay. I understand he's huge in America. ;)

I'm sure the vice versa of that is rarely the case.

I think you're right here.

so these shows are award winning because of their interracial relationships?

so these shows are award winning because of their interracial relationships?

I didn't say that.

Bigoldowls' question was "What was the reaction?".
(He was not sure if there even had been any such kiss)

According to him, the reaction serves as a guide to determine if the country is racist or not.
Do you think it serves as such a guide?

He pointed out that in the UK "we have no problems with it".

As for the U.S., at the very least, we can say that their supposed racism did not stop them from watching these shows regularly and awarding them with highest honours. One could even conclude from this that the majority of people had "no problems with it".

3 shows?!? :dunno:

So .... you do actually think it serves as an accurate guide to determine if a country is racist?

Judging by your response, you believe it not only serves as valid evidence but the above list of reactions is "not enough" evidence.

How many programs would count as sufficient evidence for you?
Do you think a predominantly racist U.S. will watch a few such shows every week and give them Emmys... but if they are shown too many interracial shows they'll snap and show their true colours?

Should the U.S. create a lot of programs with interracial kissing to prove to the U.K. that it is not racist? Ahhhhh 51 shows as of June 5th, now the U.S. is not racist. ;)

Assuming it is any kind of evidence at all...

Is it really the number of shows that matters?
... or is it the reaction to and the acceptance of the shows that matters?
:dunno:
