Hi Bigoldowls,

One did not realise that one could purchase Fish and Chips from the Dorchester as a "Take away" that is what the £7:00 average was based on.

This average must be based on that there London prices.

One would gladly pay at least double that for a Dorchester "Sit In" Fish and chips. ;)

Hopefully it would be worth it. ;)

I bet I can get better fish and chips than the Dorchester can offer. The chips need to be fried in beef dripping not in oil. Haddock not tasteless cod and lashings of mushy peas.

Re: Fish n Chips.

Don't wish to "Piss on your chips".... but where I live the Take away price for Whiting, haddock or Plaice is £2.70, Cod £3.20, portion of chips £1.50. all fresh from the sea and served by my local Italian family owned Chippy. Yum Yum.

People pay more for that cod crap than for haddock or plaice which are in a different league?
My family was in the fish business when we still had a fishing fleet. In Grimsby they couldn't give cod away , it was sent to London.Harry Ramsden refused to sell cod in his chippies because it wasn't "good enough for good Yorkshire folk" it has texture but practically nothing else.
