A World Remembers 9/11

No one cares about Ireland either and our struggle to free the north from a hostile occupational force.
The EU turns a blind eye and America is getting very pally pally with Britain which will in turn cause friction between Ireland & the USA, the old "is the friend of my enemy my friend or my enemy" thing.
I never agreed with the bombing of civilians though, that only hurt our cause not helped it & it was a stupid & cowardly thing to do. Had I been in charge we would have stuck to military targets. At least they know what they're getting into & accept the risks, a civilian is just a helpess target & there is no honor in blowing them up.
You kill a person or several people in a bar what do you accomplish? NOTHING. You destroy an APC or a helicopter what do you acomplish? A LOT. A civilian costs the enemy government nothing, a military helicopter & crew or an APC costs them time, money & expensive to train personel.
We just want our own island back. Nothing wrong with wanting that but we're left twisting in the wind because we're not important enough obviously.
I can relate to how a Palestinian would feel...

Am I reading this right?:wtf:
What is WRONG with some people?

My purpose of this thread, was not only to pay my respects to all those poor people who died in the WTC incident, but to also make people aware what other things that has happened on this day, but no one has brought up that in their discussions.
No one has given their condolences for the death of the murdered Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.
No one has discussed the military coup in Chile where CIA helped install the Facist dictator Pinochet and the torture of 300,000-400,000 people, some to death.
No one has commented the Battle of Stirling Bridge where the Scots under William Wallace defeated English troops, and are one of the basis for the great film Braveheart.
WTC was horrible, and I wish it never happened, and it's something we should never forget, but I do not think that just because of WTC we should forget everything else that has happened that day.
Think of the poor people who suffered when Pinochet came into power.
Think of how the world looks like, when people can't go shopping, without being stabbed to death.
Think of people who has fought against opression all through the centuries, like William "Braveheart" Wallace and the Scots did against the English oppression.

Braveheart was a good film, but it was not historically accurate. Plus Robert the Bruce was portrayed wrongly. A lot of people here in Scotland did not like the idea of the image of Sir William Wallace being replaced by that of Mel Gibson for marketing purposes.

I'm fully aware of that it's not historically correct, I've done some own studies about him, but it's a good film nontheless... ;)

All that's sad but sad things happen everyday! You have to move on or you'll go mad mourning all the time!

btw No one's talked about the War of 1812 either, often called the forgotten war! ;) :glugglug:

Or you can redirect your feelings about these things into noble causes, just make sure your methods are noble too. ;)

I rather not let it go that far, which is just one of the reasons to why I became active in politics over ten years ago, and why I still am. ;)

Yep its definitely time to forget 9/11, but knowing the US, we won't, and until we do, I still won't give a damn!

So you are saying we should forget the dead as well????

exactly cause they are dead, let them rest in peace.

oh and ranger thy have no reason to even think about attacking San Antonio, and would I still care if they did, NO, but then again I try not to think about negative situations like this.

Bottom line do I think its bad about NY being attacked, of course, but i also feel its time to get over it already. Make it a fucking holiday already so I can either get another day off , or get paid time and a half for working on another national holiday!

Yeah. right...................how many military bases are located in SA these days. Is it 5 or 7? Perfect spot to strike terror in the heart of America. One of the greatest cities in the country.

That is the most stupid thing i ever heard. My friend's dad just died of cancer about a month ago, should he just forget him and let his memories slip away?

What about the brave and noble soldiers who died in WW1 and WW2? Should we forget them also? Their memories should live on. This rest in peace saying is bullshit, it's a figure of speech. They're gonna rest in peace anyway because they're dead.

I doubt you'd have the same feelings if you'd have lost a loved one in 9/11.

although it is tragic that your freinds dad passed away i don't think he will be obsessing about it 3 years from now. i have the a feeling the people of the united states would come to grips about 9-11 but bush has made it his platform and he is dead set on making all of us remeber how scared we were. he is infact no honoring the people who died that day he is discarsing them by using them as a political tool.

Such a cop out to compare personal loss with 9/11, didn't I say the only people I care about is family and my closest friends?

Now just cause I say its time to get over this attack, does that mean I am a heartless SOB, I think not. Does it mean I am a horible person, far from it. Do I love the city I live in, absolutely? Do I wish bad things would happen to people? NO, because its bad karma. Anyone else wanna sit there and judge me, just for having an honest to God opinion?

Anyway am i the only one who thinks this thread should of been closed about a week ago??
