Well, I do have a friend that watches Ohio State and he tells me the Buckeye secondary won't survive Winston's passing attack.

As for the Bowl games you mentioned, I would say Oregon and Arky just didn't have their heart in the game. The best example I can give would be the 2009 Sugar Bowl, Bama vs. Utah. Bama lost to Florida in the SEC game, so they had to settle for the Sugar Bowl instead of a chance for a national title shot. Bama should of stomped Utah, but it was obvious they just didn't care about winning since the title wasn't on the line.

That's just dumb...

All of that is just dumb. :picardfacepalm:

Whoever wins the Iron Bowl, will win the SEC. Right now, I don’t see Missouri or South Carolina beating either Alabama or Auburn.

If Alabama wins, they’ll play FSU, and as good as the Seminoles are, they are not a lock to beat Alabama.

I could see this game playing out much like the Tide & Aggies game.

The key for a Tide win would be putting pressure on Winston, because the Seminoles sure as shit won’t be able to run against that super-quick defensive line.

The key for a FSU win is two-fold. They have to put pressure on McCarron and try to stop the Tide running game.

If Auburn wins the Iron Bowl, FSU will most likely play Ohio State, or Baylor.

If the Seminoles play Ohio State, this game will be a beat-down of EPIC proportions. Possibly even more than the one FSU piled on top of Clemson. Ohio State would have no chance in this one.

I’m still convinced that if Baylor wins out, they will pass Ohio State in the BCS, but the real test for Baylor is this weekend against Oklahoma State. If they win that one, they will crush TCU and more than likely, give Mack Brown his walking papers the following week.

A Baylor vs. FSU matchup would be fun to watch. Baylor averages over 700 yards a game, and over 60 points a game.

If that matchup happens, expect a rating’s bonanza as most of the country would be thrilled that an SEC team is not there.
we agree on one thing. ohio st couldnt beat fla st with 2 footballs. and baylor may look good on paper but that is ONLY because of a cupcake list. this week will expose baylor one way or the other. giving up 34 points to TT put a shadow on them to me. for some reason i keep watching mizoo. they have clip my wings twice this year and have become the most (damn if i know)team in the league in my mind. damn these last few weeks is going to be fun!!!!

If recruiting future NFL players is a "lack of common sense", then yes, Ohio State guilty of that. OSU just happens to put more players in the NFL than most SEC teams.

Ohio State lost REALLY BAD to Florida in the national title and it appears that will forever be held against us. And it didn't help we lost the LSU the following year.

But our lack of speed seemed to fair well against a speedy Oregon in the 2010 Rose Bowl, and Arkansas (an SEC team) in 2011 Sugar Bowl.

Also, if you haven't watch OSU in the past 2 years, how do you know they'll get smashed against FSU?

The LSU in the BCS was not a total lopsided game, also the played 4 quarters of solid footbal against Texas in the Fiesta Bowl and a poor coverage at the end lost them the game. This is a different team I agree this year and the secondary has played well at times. Who ever plays Ohio State will have there hands full with Hyde and Miller.

People said Ohio State couldnt beat Miami with 3 footballs back in 2002. Allot of things can happen in game.......

Sucks that Oregon has become just another team. I was hoping for so much more from them. Anyone want to place a bet as to whether Winston gets indicted? And speaking of that, it ain't often that a team covers a 57 point spread. FSU did it today. :) Not that I'm an FSU fan, far from it. Just stating fact. Not often a point spread that steep gets so easily covered. And finally...

You can wax nostalgic about your Ohio St. vs. Michigan, tell your tales of Roll Tide and War Eagle. You can ramble about the Aggies and the Horns, but for this born and bred Montanan, nothing comes close to "The Brawl of the Wild." Montana beat Montana St. today in their 113th meeting. Yep, that's right. When Boise St. was just a cow pasture on the Boise River and Notre Dame was just a private school in South Bend, the Grizzlies and Bobcats went at it in football. Usually, there are only about 100 sober people at the game, and they're all on the sidelines. I've seen a few Auburn/Alabama games, and even enjoyed the "world's largest outdoor cocktail party." But I have yet to see a rivalry game that comes close to the Grizzly/Cat clash. And I invite my fellow posters here to wax a bit about your fave rivalry games.

Baylor may pass OSU, but OSU will pass them right back with awin over MSU.

Lol Oregon. Cmon man.

I really thought Chattanooga was gonna pull this one out.

One of the greatest college announcers of all time, Keith Jackson, was once asked, "What is the greatest rivalry in college football?"

USC vs UCLA
Army vs Navy
Texas vs Oklahoma
Texas vs Texas A&M
Nebraska vs Oklahoma
Ohio State vs Michigan
Alabama vs Tennessee

What did he say? "Nothing compares to the Iron Bowl."

After the Oregon loss, I find myself rooting for Oklahoma State. If they win, Ohio State loses to Michigan State and Auburn beats Bama, the Tigers might slip into the big game.

OSU looses, i seem athat point, Ohio State beats MSU, Auburn is hopefully, Tigers dont make it, GO BUCKS! 8)

I'm curious as to why you're rooting for this scenario.

Just because it's a total clusterfuck, and I love to see weird things happen with top-ranked teams. I don't know what it is, but I seem to be hard-wired this way.

Quite a week in football! #4 and 5 go down HUGE. That's fun to see.
:D

We all know that Notre Dame is going to win overall this year.

lol That would be a Red Sox turnaround.

Makes you kind of miss the 2007 season when in seemed like #1 and 2 were losing just about every week.

Though, that season ended with my 1 loss Buckeyes losing to a 2 loss LSU.

I too tend to root for clusterfuck college football seasons, just because major college football deserves to yearly have its postseason held to the ridicule it deserves. Most of the FBS plays for absolutely nothing. Namely, a season that ends with more wins than losses, so they can play some bowl game that really means nothing to no one. So yeah, there's a very large part of me that wants to see every team in the SEC, ACC, Pac 12 Big 12 and Big 10 have at least three losses next year, and Boise St., Bowling Green, Western Michigan and San Diego St. go undefeated. I guarantee even if that scenario were to come true, none of the four afore mentioned teams would be chosen to play in the playoff, with the reason being given that their strength of schedule wasn't the same, and so the "playoffs" will be the two teams from the SEC title game, and the winner of the Pac 12 would make up the first three, with the last being a tossup between the other three power conferences. The four team playoff will prove to be just as favorable to the five big conferences as the BCS before it. Mark my words.

Your words have been so marked.

(and agreed with, I think)

Yesterday was certainly interesting:

How in the hell did Oregon lose? On my ride into work this morning, all the radio talk was speculating about the Oregon players being all-in for a National Title, but, with the Stanford loss, they just lost all interest and allowed Arizona to clobber them. I have to believe that if they knew Baylor was gonna get blown out, and that would give them a slim chance to get back into it, they would’ve played better.

As for Baylor, what happened there? I admit Oklahoma State is my favorite team in the Big 12 and I knew they had a good chance to beat Baylor, but the Cowboys just absolutely dominated every aspect of that game. Stunning!

It’s great how one weekend can not only change the National Title picture, but the Heisman race as well. However, I see a true injustice beginning to brew on the horizon.

Game losses by Manziel, Mariota and Petty most likely have killed their chances and with a very likely voter backlash against Winston with that cloud lingering over his head, the voters will probably do something stupid and give it to (shudder) McCarron.

Given the horrible performances by Manziel, Mariota and Petty, my new choices are:

1) Andre Williams (RB - Boston College): 2,073 yards rushing and still has 1 game left
2) Derek Carr (QB - Fresno State): 3,948 yards passing and still has 1 game left
3) Jordan Lynch (QB - Northern Illinois): 2,418 yards passing and 1434 rushing

Of course, I don’t think any of them have even a remote chance to win, but they’re certainly better choices than McCarron.

As for Winston, with everything I’m reading/hearing, I don’t believe there was a rape, but if I was a Heisman voter, there is no way I could vote for him. I know that’s not fair, but I just don’t see how anyone could vote for someone with that potential anchor dragging him down. If he were indicted, I certainly wouldn’t want to answer questions about why I voted for him in the Heisman race.
