Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Now that we got the plastic spoons and forks out of the way we can eat dinner...i dont see how noone can mess this up...out of the top 5 teams now we WILL see a hella NC game rollllllllltideeeeee till my face turns blue!!!

Great. We get to watch a couple shit offenses in the NC now. Woohoo. WHOA, did you see that missed field goal?? This is exciting stuff.

I actually hope this happens. What a mockery it will make of this entire BCS nonsense! Let me get this right....Alabama (or LSU or Arkansas) won't even be able to claim their own conference championship (or even play in the conference championship game!) but they somehow automatically qualify to play in the national championship game?? :surprise: What a joke.

I also predict that the TV ratings for this will be absolutely abysmal. I'm sure our pal smoknn will be tickled blue over it but no one east of Anniston or west of Lake Charles is going to give a squirt of piss about watching some SEC rematch that was boring as hell the first time it was played. Not SEC bashing either....I happen to think they have the best overall conference. As such, they should have the opportunity to prove it in a playoff, not some trumped-up mythical BCS method. Quick comparison: If a similar system to the BCS was in place for MLB, the 2 teams squaring off for the world championship this past season would have been the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies. As it actually played out, neither one of these teams made it out of the first round of the playoffs! :eek

Maybe a serious decline in TV viewership will make the kind of impact that needs to be made to force the NCAA to finally wake the fuck up, get rid of this insipid BCS system and institute a playoff.

By the way....BCS stands for "Bowl Championship Series", right? How is the word "series" relevant when there is but a single game that determines the champion and the contestants are picked by a computer?? :dunno:

On another note....the Houston Cougars are the only undefeated team in the nation besides LSU after taking out SMU today, 37-7. Kevin Sumlin has done a magnificent job resurrecting this program. If they can remain undefeated, they will play in a major BCS bowl game. They are bound to move up in the BCS standings since both OSU and Clemson lost. Next year, they begin construction on a new stadium that is worthy of any major program in the nation. Case Keenum is a serious Heisman candidate. The full athletic program will likely be joining the Big East very soon. Things are looking very bright for the future of the University of Houston!

I just have 1 question for everyone complaining about the BCS and saying get rid of it so we can have a playoff. How can you be so sure that you would get a playoff and not the old bowl system?

Wooooop!!! Sorry Bodie!

Chip Kelly, for all the good he's done, and he's done some great things at Oregon, completely mangled the last 60 seconds of this game. The Trojan D was clearly on its heels, so why do you depart from your usual aggressive style and leave your fate in the hands of an inexperienced 60% place kicker, while leaving two timeouts in your pocket????
very very disappointing :(

That being said, no team in the nation has improved more from week 1 to week 11 than USC, so congrats to them.
They should absolutely destroy UCLA. Fortunately for Neuheisel he may have saved his job today by becoming bowl eligible.
Fashion tip for Lane Kiffin: lose the totally gay snow cap :1orglaugh

lsu #1 bama #2 ark #3 ...and the worst is..georgia may be # 4 or? .....sec is in a class of its own..and no matter where this goes...you cant blame the bcs...noone seen this coming...they That damn good..paved their own way and earned every inch of what we see......SEC AND ROLLLLLL TIDEEEEEE till my face turns red!!

Wow, y'all (well except for smoknn) are gonna have a shit fit when the rankings come out and the top 3 teams are all SEC teams. Even though I'd like to be able to justify putting someone else at 3, how can you not put Arkansas? Stanford has played a shit schedule and just practically lost to Cal, Okie State just suffered a bad loss, and their schedule isn't exactly strong, Oregon has two losses, and Va Tech plays in the inferior ACC and got romped by a team that got romped by NC State.

My top 10....

1 LSU
2 Alabama
3 Arkansas
4 Oklahoma State
5 Oregon (It'd be an absolute joke if Stanford got ranked higher than the Ducks just cuz their weak ass sked has afforded them only 1 loss)
6 Stanford (Someone explain to me why exactly Andrew Luck is the Heisman favorite. Cuz all of ESPN has gone gay for him?)
7 Virginia Tech
8 Michigan State (Along with Arkansas, the two most underrated teams in the nation)
9 South Carolina (Only ranked this high cuz they beat Georgia in Athens)
10 Georgia

Btw in my perfect world, only conference champs are eligible for the NC. So even tho they are 4th, OK State would be in line for the big game.

Pac-12 South is wild as fuck. Utah lost their first FOUR conference games and yet have a decent shot at the title game. Arizona State is clearly the most talented (eligible) team in this division. I think they are every bit as strong as USC, who ASU demolished btw. They fucking blew it, straight up.

Goodbye, Dennis Erickson. These last two losses were unacceptable. Any early names for his replacement? Gary Patterson, just sayin'.

Yeah, truly an embarrassing late season collapse by ASU. Now I understand how they lost to Illinois.

Stanford has played a shit schedule and just practically lost to Cal

Nah, Stanford was never in any danger of losing that game although I'll grant you it wasn't an inspired effort.

I love how Clemson started acting like Clemson as soon as I stopped betting against them :1orglaugh

Bodie Top 10

1) LSU
2) Alabama
3) Oregon
4) Stanford
5) USC
6) Arkansas (can't rate them higher because they're going to lose this week)
7) Oklahoma State
8) Oklahoma
9) Wisconsin
10) Georgia

you guys keep your shirt on...not so fAst!!!...before i get beat down...i just wanna say if you think it looks fucked up now...wait till georgia wins the SEC.....im as much for playoffs as you guys ...start next week would be great by me...let the chips fall where they may.......one more thing..i cant wait till espn this morning to see who they apply suckage to for the HT now

Observances...

--Stoops f&8@#ed up. Period.
--Congrats to Penn State. They finally found a way to stop DeVier Posey. Oh, wait...
--The SPARTANS win the Legends Division. Legends Division??
--Art Briles deserves a lot of kudos. Here's some kudos:
--The Heisman is up in the air. Prediction: the winner will tank in the NFL.
--God must love the SEC. Or maybe he hates the Big 12.

Who the hell is gonna win the Heisman? I think right now it should be between Robert Griffin, Case Keenum, Montee Ball and Trent Richardson. And I guess the golden boy will be up there as well, Andrew Luck, as well as Mo Claiborne cuz he's the standout player on the best defense on the best team. I had Brandon Weeden as my favorite up until Friday. This would be my vote....

1 Griffin
2 Richardson
3 Keenum
4 Ball
5 Claiborne

They aren't so much saying the BCS should be get rid of so we can have a playoff as much as they want the BCS to be gotten rid of AND have a playoff. I think most people are aware the powers that be in college sports would probably screw it up somehow and not want to do it right.

Here's the way I see it...

Leave the BCS ranking system in place and at the end of the year, take the top 8 in the BCS (some would like the top 16) and then have a playoff using the BCS rankings to determine who vs. who:

Round 1
1 vs 8
2 vs 7
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

Round 2
1 vs 8 winner -vs- 4 vs 5 winner
2 vs 7 winner -vs- 3 vs 6 winner

Round 3
The two winners from Round 2 play each other. Simple.

There are a lot of people who whine like little bitches that this would destroy the Bowls, but all you have to do is use the Bowls in the playoff system, and to make sure no bowl becomes more prestigious, rotate the bowls every year like they rotate the NC game. It's not rocket science. The problem is the people in power who make these decisions are a bunch of fucking idiots!
