If, or as it looks now...WHEN the Big East goes belly-up, whats going to become of Rutgers, USF, Cincinnati and a couple of other schools? the look of those schools with their tradition and the facilites, they are not going to be taken in by a BCS conference, theyre schools with mid major profiles who happen to be in a BCS conference. Same reason Baylor doesnt want the Big 12 to dissolve, they dont fit in a BCS conference as is.

Means nothing this early in the year. They have 4 wins, OU has 3 and Missouri gave the Sooners a bit of a run for their money on Saturday so they drop in the polls. Taking nothing away from LSU but OU will be back is my guess.
No biggie, the top 3 are all swappable with each other. As are 4-7, you could put them any order you please.

You must have missed my post, 701. Cincinnati seems to be exploring the ACC, and USF could be a possibility for them, or the Big 12 if/when they save themselves and start to expand. I know USF doesn't make sense in the Big 12 as far as geography, but it would give them a presence in the Florida TV markets, and USF certainly wouldn't be the worst team in that conference.
Geography is totally out the window now tho. Money and football are now the 2 driving ****** for conference realignment. I just cant see USF competing in the Big 12 unless the Oklahoma and Texas schools left the conference..a point at which it would no longer exist. I can see Boise being able to compete in the Big 12, theyve beaten enough teams from BCS conferences to at least merrit a chance to compete in one of them. TCU i do think can be competitive in a good conference like the SEC or Big 12. Decisions decisions for everyone right now with the college football landscape changing every day.
Yeah, OU still has 4 ranked teams yet to play, including a game at Oklahoma St (which could be another top 5 match-up). The Big-12 is very deep this year, if any team in the Big-12 goes undefeated, it will be Big 12 vs SEC in the title game.
I don't see how the Big East will survive. A conference with 8 teams, adds 1, loses 2 others, and has 1 more that is actively trying to leave. TCU did not choose well.

True, and Bama has a huge game @ UF this weekend... wayyy to early to be talking BCS NC game IMHO

At this point, everyone expects the winner of the Bama-LSU game to be in the NC game. In the SEC anything can happen, so one of them will have to go unbeaten. If not, I suspect Boise may slip in, provided they don't screw up like they did last year and lose to Nevada.
Prediction: As long as BSU plays in a non-BCS conference, they will never play for a national championship.

Northwestern at Illinois (Illini win the battle of Illinois. Champaign for everyone!)
Bowling Green at West Virginia (Mountaineers win easily in Morgantown)
Georgia Tech at NC State (10 pt. road favorites don't usually lose so I pick the Jackets)
SMU at TCU (Frogs take high-scoring affair at home against cross-town rivals)
Minnesota at Michigan (when was the last time Minnesota was relevent? Ricky Foggie was the QB I think!)
Texas A&M vs. Arkansas (at Arlington, TX) (A&M still reeling from last week's debacle. Welcome to the SEC, Ags! Hogs squeak out a win at Jerry World)
Texas at Iowa St. (Texas a 9 1/2 pt. road favorite. Cyclones much improved but Longhorn revenge prevails....this game will be close)
USF at Pittsburgh (Panthers a 2 1/2 pt. dog at home. I think they'll win it outright but not by much)
Baylor at Kansas St. (K-State played out of their minds last week but Robert Griffin proves to be too much for them this time. Baylor by 6)
Clemson at Virginia Tech (Hokies favored by 6 1/2. This one has upset written all over it. Tigers by a FG)
Alabama at Florida (Gators never lose at the Swamp....unless Alabama is in town. Tide win in 4th quarter)
Auburn at South Carolina (Auburn can't beat the ol' ball coach this time. Cocks by 7)
