Jim Mora Jr to UCLA.

thoughts?

"Playoffs? PLAYOFFS???!!! Are you kiddin' me???!!! Playoffs???!!!"....oops....wrong Mora. :D

Actually, I think it's kind of a strange choice. UCLA has been irrelevant for a number of years. We'll see how well Mora can recruit against USC and the other PAC 12 schools.

On another note, Aledo High School won the Texas 4A championship today. RB Jonathan Gray has set a national high school record for TDs....205 in his high school career!!! Incredible. Oh....by the way....just so happens he will be attending the University of Texas next year. ;) :nanner: :D

Yep. Makes you wonder what the Penn State and Syracuse programs would deserve...

Kind of a different issue, no? There are people in those programs who deserve to be prosecuted. As far as breaking NCAA rules, not so much. While the leaders clearly deserve to be prosecuted, should the programs suffer?

i seen something once and for all tonight..they can give the badges to what player they like...but kellen moore has the hottest gun of any qb i seen this year...hes the diamond in the sand..and the name you will hear a long time

Mizzou whips UNC handily in the ever-popular Independence Bowl. Hell, there had to be at least 15,000 people in attendance! The NCAA bowl system is so stupid....this was nothing more than a fucking exhibition game....no significance whatsoever. Unless you are a fan, alum or someone betting on the game, why would you care about this game?? :dunno: That said, Gary Pinkel has done an outstanding job at Missouri. It will be very interesting to see how the SEC teams adapt to his spread offense or, perhaps even more interesting, to see how Pinkel adapts his offense to the SEC defenses. Either way, I have to pinch myself every time I realize that the Tigers are now part of the SEC. Great recruiting advantage for Midwest kids for Mizzou now. It's crazy that they are in the eastern division though....:wtf:

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
They will have a chance to compete in the east, they caught a break there, if they were in the west they would get thumped, they wouldnt be able to keep up with LSU and Bama every year. I know geographically they should have been in the west but I seriously see them being a contender in the eastern divison once they get SEC recruits and start a good foundation.

Good points Jag, although going in I thought it was an interesting matchup between two universities that would otherwise never face each other.

:wtf: for sure

The one and only.
Wow, Purdue was fucking awful. We forced 7 turnovers and recovered 2 onside kicks, yet still only won against a horseshit MAC team by 5 points.

And last week we gave the head coach (Captain Hopeless) a two-year extension. Fucking retarded. Plus, people in West Lafayette were actually talking about how this was a successful season. Really? Only if you're content with mediocrity. Ten years ago at this time we had the Big Ten's most prolific offense, a top rated defense, and we were gearing up for the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with Sir Drew Christopher Brees at the helm. Now we're playing in Detroit in the Little Caesars Bowl.

Raise your standards a little.

well bro WM did everything they could to help...when they lined up with a empty backfield in the shotgun ...on the one (1) yard line..its one thing to to pass on the one..but tell the other team..(IM GOING TO PASS..BECAUSE SEE!!NOONE IS BEHIND ME HELLOOO!) to block OR hand the ball to..look like something les miles would do to me

Keep in mind Purdue had been dreadful in recent years. Unless you have the recruiting power of Michigan or Ohio St. (which Purdue doesnt) you cant just go from one of the worst in the conference to the top in a year or even 2 or 3. All things considered the Boilers shouldve been thankful just to be in a bowl game considering where they were in recent years.

Missouri....It's crazy that they are in the eastern division though....:wtf:

It is a bit odd......I woulda went more geography-centric. This alignment would preserve rivalries, with 1 guarantee intra-divisional opponent, which I went ahead and listed. And Vandy is just as far west as Alabama and actually more westward than Auburn, so you can't question the geography. It would also balance the divisions, cuz we all know the west is much stronger.

East

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Kentucky
Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee

West

Arkansas
LSU
Missouri
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

Guarantee Games

Tennessee/Vanderbilt
Alabama/Arkansas
Missouri/Kentucky
South Carolina/Miss State
Auburn/Ole Miss
Florida/LSU
Georgia/Texas A&M

Of course, this makes too much sense, and much like the ACC and Big Ten, conferences choose to do the dumb thing when it comes to aligning their divisions.

On a side note....Texas' defense was absolutely dominant against Cal in the Holiday Bowl 2 nights ago. And to think that most of these kids are sophomores....if there's any way Mack Brown can find an offense, Texas will be a serious power the next 2 years!

You left off the biggest guaranteed games of all, Auburn/Georgia and Alabama/Tennessee.

Anyhow, the current alignment is too one-sided. To the SEC's defense, they tried to fix it, with moving Auburn to the other division, but the officials at Alabama had to be the conference assholes and raise a stink about that, not even considering that the conference could make the Iron Bowl a guaranteed game. I'm hoping the SEC revisits the alignment issue during the off-season. Moving LSU would probably make the most sense and cause the least problems, but you never know what's gonna happen...
