Historically the winner of the Walter Camp award wins the Heisman, but this year hasn't been a usual year in the Heisman and awards talk. I cant see Andrew Luck winning the Heisman. RG3 and Trent Richardson each won the award for their position, Tyrann Matthieu won the most prestigious for defensive players, i expect one of those 3 will win it.
The Heisman race has fallen away from being given to
the best player and is usually given to a great player whose team has had a great season. One upon a time, there were Heisman winners whose team may have had a losing season, but you'll never see that happen again. Nowadays, some voters do tend to look at what a player has done in their overall career. They shouldn't but they do:
Based on the career criteria, Andrew Luck
could win it. His region could be strong enough to get him there.
A few voters will consider Case Keenum based on his career, but I don't see him finishing any higher than third.
I don't see Tyrann Matthieu winning. There was buzz about him during most of the year, but nothing serious until after the Arkansas game. If he returns next year, I see him as the preseason favorite.
It seems like RG3 & Trent are the two favorites. I'm thinking RG3 will win.
