The NCAA or BCS have shown a huge bias tword SEC football for years now.

They like to say the run of titles proves it??? At least two of these were won against Ohio State teams that wouldn't have been in the top twenty had they played a halfway tough schedule.

Go Pac 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1998 - Tennessee 13-0

2003 - LSU 13-1 (only loss was an SEC team)

2004 - Auburn 13-0 (This proves the NCAA is NOT biased towards the SEC. If anything, they were biased towards USC. That year, with Cadillac & company and AU's DEFENSE, they would've stomped USC in the title game, but the BCS sent lowly Oklahoma )

2006 - Florida 13-1 (only loss was an SEC team)

2007 - LSU 12-2 (I'd agree, LSU shouldn't have been in this game, but they did BEAT your USC team )

2008 - Florida 13-1 (only loss was an SEC team)

2009 - Alabama 14-0

2010 - Auburn 14-0

And don't blame the NCAA/BCS for Ohio State not being as strong as the SEC teams in those BCS losses. Ohio State's problems in those losses can be traced to one thing, poor recruiting. To this day, OSU STILL hasn't learned, when you recruit a lineman, you need to balance size with speed. If/when you have a line that averages 340+, that line aint worth a shit when they're as slow as a bunch of turtles!

One Division of the SEC is going down to the one game game between LSU and Alabama. the other Division is going to be South Carolina or Georgia...the one thing that is clear is that Bama or LSU will win the conference at the end.

Do what I do when I don't like something about NCAA football. I just admit the whole institution is close to being one big sham as it is and it makes all the other flaws about it easier to accept. Of course I also quit being a fan of college football some time ago so I find I have less to care about as every year goes by.

Anyone who questions Oklahoma as possibly being the best team in the nation should have watched today's ass-whipping they dished out to Texas. Neither Alabama nor LSU has a QB nearly as good as Landry Jones and no one has a squad of elite receivers like the Sooners do. Ironically, the only team that may have a more potent offense is only about a hundred miles away from Norman....that team up in Stillwater. The Sooners easily rolled up a very good Texas defense today....I am duly impressed.

As for the 'Horns....I'm happy with the direction of the team. We're really young.....only 13 seniors on the whole roster. We'll be back in the national hunt "sooner" than later.

There is an old saying, Defense wins games.

1992 - Alabama: This team had one of the worst offenses in the country with THE worst quarterback in college football. Jay Barker was just absolutely pathetic, but Bama's defense that year was one the greatest in the history of NCAA football, and that team won the National Championship. This year's Bama defense is very similar to that one, and if that doesn't concern you, LSU's defense looks even better.

K-State is very quietly showing what a solid team they have. Bill Snyder's genius never ceases to amaze me. Absolutely no one was talking about these guys before the season started and here they are....undefeated.

Also, Houston deserves some mention here. They killed East Carolina last night 56-3. Yeah, I know they play in a second tier conference but they are 6-0 and deserve some credit. Kevin Sumlin has done one helluva job at UH.

You're right. Excuse me for being so enamored with OU's offense that I forgot to mention their defense forced 3 turnovers for touchdowns yesterday. Their physical play had McCoy and Ash running for their lives all afternoon.

Also understand that I'm not dissing any other school with my comments. All I said was that OU was quite possibly the best team in the nation. If anyone disagrees with that....well, that's just not being realistic. Oklahoma is the most complete team I've seen in the NCAA so far this year. Only possible Achilles heel is their special teams....otherwise, they are rock solid on both sides of the ball. It doesn't mean that are unbeatable however....no team is.

I didn't forget that ass rape (see ablove). I couldn't even if I wanted to. Miami went into that game as a heavy favorite and got routed. Remember that one play, Lamar Thomas running for a touchdown, gets run down by George Teague and Teague takes the ball away from him; it was a non-play due to a penalty, but it was still embarrassing for Miami. The Alabama defense was responsible for more points than the offenses of either team.

Special teams is the only bright spot on Auburn this year. We've got a great punter, but our kicker on kickoff's is phenomenal. I've watched this guy put it thru the uprights on a kickoff! That's 80+ yards!

The way OU's defense was playing yesterday, it might have been easy to confuse their defense with the offense. Defense is what separates OU from the upper tier of the Big-12. OSU probably has the best offense in the country, but OU is the better overall team.

But yes, the only concern for OU is their special teams. This has been an issue for years now. And not just the kick coverage, but our field goal kicker as well.

I've been keep track of overall conference performance this year, mostly out of boredom. At midseason, the Big X(II) has the highest winning percentage at .740, the SEC has the most overall wins with 47. Here's how the conferences are fairing (I clumped together the Indies as well):
1. Big XII 37-13 (.740)
2. SEC 47-22 (.681)
3. Big Ten 44-23 (.657)
4. Big East 28-16 (.636)
5. ACC 41-24 (.631)
6. Independents 16-11 (.593)
7. Pac-12 36-28 (.563)
8. Mtn. West 22-19 (.537)
9. C-USA 34-35 (.492)
10. MAC 34-43 (.442)
11. Sunbelt 20-29 (.408)
12. WAC 16-28 (.364)
That said, right now the SEC has the best team in the nation in LSU, no one has a resume quite like the Tigers. Conversely, the worst team in the nation is probably in the Mtn. West with New Mexico.
