Brazil VS Portugal
It should have been an exciting game it's a real boring one

What did you expect? They reached their target and so they signed a non-aggression pact. Brazil finally said goodbye to their famous gameplay in my opinion. Another lost time and the most boring game in this cup so far

I'm really excited. Hopefully, my Chilean boys can pull it off. --- I haven't got enough fingernails to chew on. :uohs:

... God knows, I'm a Voodoo Chile...

Final results :
Chile 1-2 Spain
Switzerland 0-0 Honduras
Sapin finally qualifies
Chile is impressive. If both centram defensors would not have been suspended for the game against Brazil, I would have bet on them to defeat the Seleçao

Switzerland had only one goal scored against them. But they scored only one goal, nearly by accident. You can't win without scoring goals, staying in defense position alll the time. You can't win a game by 0-0.
Honduras didn't score any goal, mostly because they suck.

South America had 5 teams qualified ofr 1st Round. 5 got through.

Switzerland was too afraid of its own possibilities. They could have scored 2 or 3 goals against weak Hondurans. But why didn't Frei play from the beginning?

Too bad games in a row on one day. It was the 6th draw during this cup and 7 yellow cards in one half

Is it possible to have two games in a row that don't involve terrible officiating? The card on the incidental trip in the Chile game was ridiculous.

I can't see why a referee always has to interupt a game with something like that. It always stops the flow of the game. I also demand a video evidence, because I can understand that a referee can't see everything on the field. Sometimes I ask myself why I watch some games when I see the players bitching around or lying on the ground like a baby.

I've always thought there should be a panel at the larger events that could reverse (not add) poorly called cards with video evidence within 1 or 2 minutes of the booking/dismissal. It will never happen of course, because "tradition" trumps the need for fair officiating.

Maybe they will never review offsides or if a ball crosses entirely into the goal, but they should be able to review yellow/red card calls overnight and reverse ones that are not deserved, allowing suspended players to play the next game.

Only if Blatter finally retires....
