I'm in no way a fan of the US soccer team, but I'm really looking forward watching them play because I'm actually very intrigued at what they might be able to accomplish in South Africa.
Spain was really bad against Saudi Arabia, Serbia even worse while losing to New Zealand 0-1, Germany won but didn't play well at all, but the core of the team was staying in South Tyrol to get fit again (Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Müller) and forward Podolski played the number 6 position for quite a while in that match. Ha ha ha, England won against Japan today, 2-1, but Japan scored all three goals.
So, enough with those friendlies alright, bring on the real thing!
Why can't I choose Holland in this poll, but I can choose Argentina (crappy coach) and Ivory Coast (strong team, but I wonder if they will even survive the first stage)?
I'm hoping for a final Holland-Germany. But we will probably start great and fuck up or have bad luck somewhere later in the tournament, like usual. I do have confidence in Bert van Marwijk though.

I saw a game of footy once.. it was very good, my predictions to win - either England or Brazil, with Serbia and Cameroon as the outside shots going far :dunno:

My heart goes to the US but they'll be lucky if they make it the the elimination rounds. My money is on either Spain or Portugal, but as long as Italy and France doesn't win I'll be happy.
I would go with Argentina if they had both a keeper and a coach. But they don't, so my money's on Brazil.
My darkhorses: Uruguay, Cote d'Ivoire, and France (sad, it's come to point that if they did well. it'd be a surprise).

I don't think I can suffer to watch Les Bleus anymore. Jeremy Toulalan will be the worst player ever to make a WC squad. I suspect he won't even finish France's first game. He'll be way late on a tackle, get red carded and that will be the end of his Intl career. He is a horrible player.

France have to get their fingers out or they will be out in the 1st round
along with South Africa.
As for Italy I still think they will make it to the 2nd round but Paraguay will
give them a scare.
