2010 Tennis Thread (Grand Slams, ATP World Tour, Davis Cup)

I bet he'll take a shower, grab a spot of bangers and mash at the pub, and be out at a club until dawn trying to bring some hot british tail back to the hotel room...:yesyes:

That is some ridiculous crap. The winner will definitely lose their next match :helpme:
The average rally was just over 2 shots or something. Kinda turns into a joke after a while, even it is record breaking.
Serve or die

Actually, that would be what I would do. Isner, with his massive frame, is in the locker room hooked up to an IV, in all likelihood.

Possibly, since he went 16-14 in his match. Good news for Nadal though, since any opponent he gets now will be tired.

It wouldnt have gone to 59-59 back in the day! Damn modern technology!
Its good to watch from a freaky human effort perspective, just really one dimensional.

yeah, but hey, the swedish assassin still awaits in the QFs... that match is gonna be awesome. I hope they both make it, so we can see some blood in Central court...

7-seed Nikolay Davydenko lost against german world's no. 98 Daniel Brands, who's playing his first Wimbledon main draw in his career...

good news for Federer and for Berdych...

i'd rep you if i could, again :(

btw, if they keep going for about 6 or 7(?) more games they will have played more games in their match than Nadal did to win the French Open.

ouch.

and also, if you remember the final last year between roger and roddick, they all were sayin "what a long game" and talking about record of most games or something. Now, it looks like a walk in the park. In the grass park.

also come to mind the Karlovic-Stepanek game of Davis Cup, that lasted 6 hours and it had 4 tie-breaks, and 16-14.

I remember Dr. Ivo saying: "my legs hurt, my arms hurt, i feel like a box fighter"

Man, I couldn't watch the match but I did leave around 39-39. Isner, and his serve, need to be more efficient than that. I suspect he'll be routed his next match (who does he play?).

^^ I linked to the draws two (or three) pages back... If somebody wins the match, he'll face de Bakker (NED) - who won a very short match (16/14, 5th set)

Isner was serving good enough, but he could hardly move on returns when Mahut was serving.
I think Mahut almost caught up to Isner on aces near the end.
Hard to believe Mahut could still run properly  I remember that volley Isner played then he turned his back thinking he had won the point, and Mahut almost got to the ball. He must be super fit
Isner is going to be in so much pain when he wakes up tomorrow, maybe they should change it to wheelchair tennis for the last few games.

Is there a more overrated player in the world right now than Davydenko? Everyone who claims to be a tennis expert raves about this guy's talent and he never does shit :dunno:

Never let the words: Davydenko has a chance to win a slam be written again

good news for Federer and for Berdych...
 Federer has a date with the executioner in the Finals my friend..if he doesn't throw a match beforehand in order to duck getting beaten by Rafa again :thefinger

"does shit"...

1 Masters Cup (not even Rafa has one!) and 3 Masters 1000 are not "shit".

Not "shit" at all.

However...

Never let the words: Davydenko has a chance to win a slam be written again

in Slams he has been... not so brilliant. No finals, but 4 semifinals isn't bad at all.

but from there to be a slam favorite, there's a big gap, of course.

to be REALLY honest, i don't think either could make the final :(

i mean, Roger is showing poor form and Rafa is in path against the swedish assassin (i love his new nickname!!!), and if wimbledon 2010 has teach us something, is that if you're a big server, you got your chances, mate.

besides, a Murray-Rafa possible SF would fall in Scotland's side, IMO.

of course, my heart is entirely with the RogRaf final.

You mean to tell me the Isner contest is not even over yet?!?!

No, it's not. It's 62-all right now. :thefinger

i hope they get to the 100's!

In the meantime, Tsonga is struggling in a tight fifth set against Dolgopolov. They're 8-all right now.
