There is a small group of college teams that run college football. USC is one of them. Tennessee, apparently, is not.

I really thought that Lane had "moved on" from USC and would've turned us down if we really went crawlin' on our bellies and knees to him?

For some reason I have no problem trying to hire away Jim Harbaugh from Stanford but this Kiffin hire seems outrageous even to me.

USC basically unzipped its fly, slammed its cock on the table and said, "Suck this Nation." It's so desperate but impressive at the same time.

Can we really get Norm Chow out of ucla for the same job he once had? Sure, for a lot more money...but still....WOW. I didn't think he'd leave for just the OC job.

I know this is going to sound crazy but it is USC and I see him coming across town for that to me it is worth it.That is a stacked coaching staff and on paper this could be a national champion team only on paper that is a collection of great minds just bring in the talent

Vols are saying its Will Muschamp. We'll see. I dont see Brown stepping down anytime soon and even tho Muschamp is the heir to the Burnt Orange thrown years down the line, he may choose the Bright Orange thrown for the immediate now.

I don't see it i think what happened at Flordia state will happen at Texas before he leaves i know that sounds crazy but it is what it is.I'm just saying:dunno:National Signing day is right around the corner. They have to make a move become there is a lot of talent coming out of the tri-state area of Tennessee,Mississippi, and Arkansas mean a lot it was a great year for high school recurits this year in the area

Is this appropriate behavior for a university?
Apparently this is footage from tonight of UT students and fans trying to tear down a statue on campus? Huh? Was it a statue of Lane Kiffin? WTF are they doing trying to trash their campus!!!

well its only a matter of time before someone lures Harbaugh away from Stanford. that seems to always be the case, get a coach that has some success and he's soon courted by the bigger programs. thats life in the mid tier and lower tier for you.

while Tennessee is in the SEC and they do have a huge fanbase to fill that stadium every saturday, I still think USC coaching position is way more prestigious. plus dont forget family impact either, i had read that oregeron's wife was holding out in new orleans from his brief stint with the Saints. seems the rural life was not for her, and I just can't see keeping Layla locked in Knoxville. You'd be surprised at how much influence some wives have had over coaching locations lol

I can see why Kiffin would do this...after all, the potential recruits are likely to feel betrayed if they commit to UT and Kiffin leaves...but just sounds pretty tasteless.....

HM this is a repost. Curious to see your opinion.

Wow did anyone see the beginning of the Jets/Bengals games?

When they do the quick intros the first time the offense and defense takes the field and say what school they are from, of courts Nick Mangold said “The Ohio State University”,
But when Braylon Edwards did it, he said:

“Braylon Edwards: Lloyd Carr’s Michigan.”

It sure sounded like a shot on Rich Rod to me.

He is not trying he is doing I told myself last night it would end up like that the same way John Calipari did Memphis and took those recurits to Kentucky but hey those were Calipari players and in this case those are Kiffin players you know the old saying all is fair in love and war.It is a shame but the way of the world

As far as BE's comments...it's a free country.:dunno:

Listen, there is no loved lost among some UM faithful over RR. His record and a few other things haven't helped.

If something dramatic doesn't happen this season I can't imagine RR returning. Some have bought in a little too much of the system change excuse.

At the end of the day and at some point a football player is a football player and you need to get it done as a coach...

Personally, I think RR is a very good coach and could have worked out at UM (if he doesn't) but he just took the wrong approach straight up and down IMO.

When you take over at a program like UM for $2.5m per...It's not the same as when you took over at WVU for hundreds of thousands then worked your way to a multimillion dollar deal. He's getting paid upfront a multimillion dollar deal which means he has to produce consistent with his salary and accrued experience. RR seemingly came to UM on a WVU plan....well UM ain't WVU (no disrespect) and most of us aren't interested in some coach coming in and taking 5 or 6 years to get us back to roughly where we were before he got there.

When a person works their way up in a career from novice to experienced...employers expect an experienced employee to produce more than they did when they were a novice. That's why they are now getting paid more. Same for coaches IMO.
