Damn Alex tell'em how you really feel :1orglaugh I don't like Tennessee either but Damn:1orglaugh

Its the truth Sky, now Norm Chow is coming back to USC to be Off. Coordinator and he was the guy who ran the offense when they had Leinhart, Palmer, Bush and some of the other "stars" they had. I like it, I think they are gonna be great once Lanes' recruits start coming in! :hatsoff:

Kiffin's behavior at Tenn didn't impress. He's going to need to grow up real fast.

Leading contenders to take over the Coaching for the Buckeyes include: Recently fired Seahawks coach and former Buckeye assistant Pete Carroll

Good call :hatsoff:
That wouldn't surprise me a bit.
I don't see Carroll meeting expectations back in the pros :dunno:

I'd like to know how contracts in college football can become that flimsily made from the schools perspective. It seems like coaches can pretty much go somewhere else any time they want.

You know now that you say that what happened to the 5 and 6 year contracts they must have some way to opt out i mean it is crazy and you just don't see those 10 year coaches anymore I mean you still have Beamer at Va.Tech and some others but there are not that many anymore :dunno:

I think the world of college football is complete bullshit. It is being overtaken by "business" and bean counters. The spirit of amateur athletics is over. It's been over, but for me, the romantic, noble notions of college football are shattered forever. It is truly about maximizing revenue from Fans/Alumni/Students. Nothing more.

Lane Kiffin is a horrible coach who embarrassed himself since Day 1 when he got off the plane at Knoxville and took shots at Bama and Florida and Florida high school. He embarrassed himself in that phony farewell that's on ESPN right now. Sure Lane, we really see you've thought a lot about this decision

College football is all about recruits. Maybe we can blame the SEC for that evolution. Maybe we can blame the Big 10 for launching the Conference Cable TV Channel scud. USC panicked at the prospect of (OH NO!!) losing a few recruits and BANKRUPTED the University to overreach and overreact. Maybe there will come a day when the recruits and players decide a coach's fate. Literally. They meet in the offseason and hold a vote--"Do we want Coach to come back or do we want someone else?"

A staff of Lane Kiffin (PR Guy), Monte Kiffin (Defensive Guru + NFL Cred), Ed Orgeron (surpreme college talent evaluator and solid DLine coach), Norm Chow (supreme QB coach) is of course awesome on paper.

But we'll see what happens. It's a mind blowing day for USC but not a great day for college football.

I'm not holding my breath that Lane Kiffin will finish out his contract.

I always try to look at the brighter side of things and on paper that looks great but as far as college football goes this year will be a big change I thought Flordia State had a changing of the quard but USC is right up there.Wow! What is Tennessee to do? David Cutcliffe go after him or maybe Gus Malzahn but I see 2010 will be a year of change this should be a very intresting year so far this has been one hell of a thread.TR I feel your pain in a way change is not always best but lets hope so in this case:thumbsup:

There is a small group of college teams that run college football. USC is one of them. Tennessee, apparently, is not.

I really thought that Lane had "moved on" from USC and would've turned us down if we really went crawlin' on our bellies and knees to him?

For some reason I have no problem trying to hire away Jim Harbaugh from Stanford but this Kiffin hire seems outrageous even to me.

USC basically unzipped its fly, slammed its cock on the table and said, "Suck this Nation." It's so desperate but impressive at the same time.

Can we really get Norm Chow out of ucla for the same job he once had? Sure, for a lot more money...but still....WOW. I didn't think he'd leave for just the OC job.

So who does Tennessee hire :dunno:

Vols are saying its Will Muschamp. We'll see. I dont see Brown stepping down anytime soon and even tho Muschamp is the heir to the Burnt Orange thrown years down the line, he may choose the Bright Orange thrown for the immediate now.
