It isn't surprising that Alabama has passed Texas in the AP poll. They most certainly have more impressive wins to support their argument. Texas' only real quality win came against Texas Tech and even that was not exactly a parity situation.

Texas has been an enigma to me so far. They have awesome talent but way too often they play down to the level of their competition. I'll actually be very glad to have a serious quality opponent to face them next week in Oklahoma. They need to compete against quality teams to justify their national standing which, quite frankly, is over-inflated based on their schedule so far.

Can't wait for the Red River Shootout (sorry....can't warm up to calling it the "rivalry"....just doesn't have the same ring to it!)!

Im not an USC fan.
Having said that, there are probably 3 teams in the top 25 that would be favored against USC if they played.

There does seem to be a big drop-off (at least from what we've seen so far) after the top 4 or 5. But there's a lot of football left to be played, hopefully everything will sort itself out.

Thats the exact reason why I think they'll beat OU. This is a huge game, so you know Colt is going to play huge. I could care less that Texas is somewhat struggling. He's played this defense before so I don't see him having any problem.

It's easy to type... but to frigging hard to say!

Wow, Bama picks up 10 #1 votes in AP! Unfortunately, the Tide needs to stay focused with SCAR, UT, and LSU up next.

If only SCAR lost this weekend, I would almost guarantee they will take down Bama. But since they won, Bama will not overlook them and the ol' ball coach won't be able to sneak up and beat them. I think this will be a close game though....so we'll see.

Lane Kiffin might be able to outscheme Satan though...although I can't believe UT has a shot at knocking off Bama since they choked against ucla already..

Um, I don't think Lane has a chance in hell of out-scheming Bama's defense right now... I wouldn't go so far as to assume a victory, UT and SCAR for that matter have pretty good defenses that will keep them in the games, but I see two more Ws for Bama rolling into the LSU game.

Ouch. Is this a bit of Sunday morning bitterness creeping in Mega...:dunno: I think these bimbos are less on bimbo and more on respectable hottie..(as long as neither of them has a tin of skoal in their backpocket)...

Hmmm, two chicks side by side, both have ultra short mini skirts, chopped up t-shirts to expose their cleavage and what separates "respectable hottie" from bimbo is a tin of skoal?

'kay....but personally if a chick is sporting a tin of skoal....she has not even risen to the bimbo class yet...

Well since you are a Sooner fan I'm glad to see you drinking the Texas kool-aid. I'm not quite ready to believe yet. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

By the way, my local paper says they are kicking off at 11:00 am CDT. Doesn't really matter to me but why wouldn't ESPN/ABC want this to be the prime-time game??:dunno:

BTW, I'm so off the Sooner wagon I'm not even going to watch the game.

Before the season started my friends offered me to go on a road trip with them, but I canceled because that was the weekend of the Red River Shootout. Now that our season is less meaningful, so is the game, so now I'm taking them up on their offer.

I hope my Sooner do well and keep it close, but I just don't expect much from them at this point.

I've been to this game once, and the game is part of the fair. You start off by going to the Cotton bowl, then after you enjoy the fair. I think the people who run the Red River Rivalry prefer it that way and there's not much ESPN can do about it.

Surely you jest. The TV networks OWN the NCAA....fuck those people who run the game!

Last year, the game was the 2:30 game on ABC. Just seems to me that they would at least want it to be the featured afternoon game. Not that it matters to me....:dunno:

I think Lil' Lane probably thinks his offensive plays are like "next generation" brilliant and all the SEC coaches and defenses are backwater hillbilly know nothings...

It's pretty sad if all it takes to sway a recruit in SEC Country is trash talk....

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
I don't think there is a better authority on the topic of crazy than Al Davis, and he said Kiffin was nuts

I think we can almost be assured that there will be an SEC team in the Championship. Whther its Florida or Alabama we shall see.

Question: If Texas does NOT win out, who will face the SEC team in the Championship?

Va Tech?
Boise St?
USC?
Cincinnati?
Texas?
the SEC runner up?
Ohio State?
Miami?
Iowa?
