I got LSU 17 Gators 13 with or without Tebow. I don't think Tebow can throw for 300 in Baton Rouge, and I certainly don't think his backup can....

Low scoring nail-biter....

Geezus....Alabama is simply terrific. The score in this game against Ole Miss should be 28-0 at the half so hats off to the Rebs D but I gotta tell you....Ala-damn-bama looks like the real deal to me. They have no weaknesses. I hate Nick Saban but he has got a helluva team. Their defense is making Ole Miss look like a high school team. Snead looks lost.

Oklahoma isn't exactly blowing Baylor off the field either so maybe Bradford is a bit rusty. I think they'll pull it out and win going away most likely but so far it's pretty close (halftime).

Legitimate question: (apologies in advance to BI) Is the Big 10 relevant anymore? Iowa might be the best team in the conference and they are getting very little respect nationally. OSU is always in the talk but....they don't look like anything special so far. Michigan? Pretty good team....not outstanding. PSU? See "Michigan". Wisconsin? See "Iowa". Some teams are downright awful (Illinois for instance! Damn....I thought they were a program on the rise???).

The Big 10 may be the weakest BCS conference there is right now. Wow....who'd a thunk it??? Lo, how the mighty have fallen!

As a UM alumnus I honestly have no defense against that assertion.:anonymous

Alabama's only weakness is QB. I think they will be beat this season because of lousy QB play. Ole Miss has a tough defense but they can't do much on offense. I think South Carolina has a better Defense than Ole Miss, but they don't have much of an offense. I still think the ol' ball coach will take down Satan and Bama, but...it would take a colossal game out of the gamecocks to do so.

Interesting you make that observation, T-rock. As I was watching the game today, I noticed that McElroy really does not have a classic pocket presence (i.e. he often ends up throwing off his back foot instead of stepping up into the throw). I like him....he's smart and he's a good game manager but I agree he is nowhere near the same class as Tebow, McCoy, Bradford....hell, even Jevan Snead when he's right so you may be correct. However, it's not a major problem for 'Bama as long as they don't need him to strap the team on his back. They seem to have plenty of other talent to carry them as long as he doesn't fuck things up. So far, he hasn't. He's an adequate QB for them and I could easily see them winning it all with him calling the signals.

Otherwise, like I said, I don't see a weakness. They are a really solid football team and will be hard to beat IMO.

'Bama is out-muscling Ole' Miss. But Miss is a good team. Oops...it's over. 22-3 'Bama wins.

My beloved Boilermakers are #1. Well, sort of. We've committed the most turnovers in Division I football (Yes, I realize its FBS now. I don't care). I guess if we have to lead in something, this might as well be it. Our team is pathetic. It's embarrassing to be a Purdue fan right now. 1-5, really? Is it basketball season yet?

I agree...and that win over VaTech looks better and better with the way the hokies are playing right now. Maybe Bama is going to git 'er dun this season..:(

Well i can say one thing Alabama looks like the best team in the country and you are right it could have been a lot worsetey settle for two or three field goals.Well Tebow took a shot here and there but he looks ok I will go ahead and give Ohio State the Big Ten Champion

Yes I forgot to mention Va Tech....damn, they look awesome and makes Alabama's win over them all that much more impressive.

In the meantime....

When is Texas going to do something to justify their #2 ranking? I mean, I'm obviously a 'Horns fan but I am no apologist.....they suck tonight against a friggin' lousy Colorado squad who comes into OUR house and leads at halftime? WTF is that all about, Mack?

LSU-Florida is a tough, tight game as predicted.....stay tuned folks!

Flordia State and Georgia Tech is in a delay all tied but I feeling good about the game they went from Wing T to Wishbone but we will take them tonight

There's pretty much 3 great teams....and a bunch of mediocrities...

I really can't make a case for a clearcut #1 so basically take your pick:
Florida, Bama, Texas

Texas pretty much fucks around in the first half and then destroys in the second half. Maybe OU can knock them off. I don't know. Could be a Texas blowout.

LSU pretty much has looked lost on offense all game long. I never thought Tebow would make an NFL QB, and if tonight's any indicator, he really isn't much of a passer. The Gators have so many different ways to hand off the ball that LSU looks lost trying to tackle that option attack.

Not to many nail biters today huh? Kind of a ho-hum weekend...

^^yup. only one ranked upset, so far as I can see. i'd still like to see michigan pull it off, and florida isn't making it impossible for lsu...

i think bama is my new #1. florida doesn't look that organised, and their offense isn't producing what it should. texas plays a crap first half and has to have their asses reamed in the locker room before they get it going.

what about florida state? bu-bye bowden?

Yeah what you said Titsrock right now it is that is number one in my eyes.Michigan has there hands full down by nine and Iowa has the ball on of the better games of today.Well looks like Flordia will pull the LSU game out :hatsoff:

Va.Tech looked damn good today and that is a scary team right now they look complete.Could it be an Alabama-Tech rematch but right now I'm sticking with Florida-Texas:dunno:

I agree with these choices. I would put Texas ahead of Florida. I'm not sure the Gators are going to go undefeated if Tebow has to throw more than 25 passes.

I think we will learn a lot about Texas next week.
