I don't care who wins as long as it's not Florida. I'd even root for The Ohio State University - and I hate that school, their players, their fans, their coach, their history, and the stupid way they announce their school name. So that's saying something.

And I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but Tebow is a douche bag. He's an excellent quarterback and he probably gets plenty of tang, but he's a douche bag. That press conference last year actually had me wishing for someone to break his leg. It'd be impossible for him to work as hard as anyone else in the history of man if he couldn't move!

Do you want to talk about it my friend:1orglaugh Sounds a little harsh I don't care for the Gators either but really breaking his leg now that is hate, but Flordia still has a bone to pick with Ole Miss and we all know what happened last year that led to that speech. So we will see the Wild West of the SEC and watching Georgia and Flordia fight it out in the East. One more thing hoe do you guys feel about the Utah I know I have had a pole about it but really is all that neessary I still say they should have split the National Champion.

I was down on Utah for the entire season last year about how they weren't legitimate and shouldn't be a contender. I never gave them a chance the entire year. And why not not? They play in the Mountain West. It's not a BCS conference, they shouldn' have been in the discussion. This was a mediocre team masquerading as a great team because of lackluster competition. I fully expected Alabama to destroy them. The Tide had been a #1 team in November and December and would have been in the title game if not for the Gators.

And then I watched the Sugar Bowl, and my jaw dropped. When the Utes went up 21-0 I was impressed. That's how you get respect. You go out and kick another team square in the mouth. Forget whining and bitching, Utah beat Bama like a government mule. After the game, I thought there would be a little controversy in terms of who should be #1. But look at this way: the Gators (as much as I hate them) have a tradition of winning, that's why they got the nod even with the loss. They had to run through the SEC (the toughest conference, how it hurts to admit) to get there. Utah had a much easier schedule and they benefited from it. If we had a repeat of circumstances this year, then the Utes might get more consideration. I don't believe they're a cupcake team anymore, but I still think they play in a weak conference.

Curious, is this a nation wide thing, not living in a box at all, but we heard a ton about Miami & Nebraska back in the day and now all i hear is USC or Florida? I live in the midwest and am a Buckeye fan.

I think it is interesting the Buckeyes get so much shit, if that is true, even after a good season in a weak conference that used to be strong. The also played the second best team in the nation down to the wire.

As a Purdue grad, I hate the Buckeyes. Why? They always beat us. I'm not sure if my level of hatred applies to the rest of the nation, but next door in Indiana, it damn sure does.

The last time Purdue beat Ohio State was in 2000 in West Lafayette. That remains the greatest game I've ever seen in person. I'll remember that game for the rest of my life. Brees threw a 60 yard touchdown pass to Seth Morales with only a couple of minutes to go. That was the loudest Ross-Ade Stadium has ever been. I still watch that game to this day... on VHS tape. That's how long it's been.

Georgia... lol. I'd like to see Georgia even compete in our East league. The SEC is once again becoming like in the 90's Florida and the other 11 dwarfs. Who is going to battle it out with us this year? South Carolina? I'd like to see that. Hate Tebow all you like but he won't get his leg broken by your hate. I'm a huge gator fan and I don't really care for Tebow except the fact that he is an amazing athlete. Anyway rather be hated because of the fact that we have dominated 2 of the past 3 years than compared to USC who is hated and yet they still haven't won a title since 2004. Go Gators!

I got to give it to you my friend you know your stuff and I really hope the SEC does not go back to that watching Flordia stomp a mudhol into everyone does not seem like fun.Now that I think about it,It was like that in quite a few conferences Flordia State kicked ass in the ACC the Cornhuskers ran rupp-shot in the Big 8 and The U before the late 90's controlled the Big East

yup, yup. I don't see it going to completely like that just like the spurrier days but its looking like Alabama and Florida are going back to their dominance. Last year I predicted us to be playing USC in the chapionship and it turned out we really should have been playing them. I was actually hoping we would have gotten a challenge from a powerhouse team like USC but it wasn't meant to be. Maybe this year. Look forward to some great football this year and Ready for fall to come! Good luck to everyone's team this year cause these kids are in college so it's anyones game.

I hear you man I'm looking hard at the Ole Miss team I expect goo things out of them

We found out who did not vote for Tim Tebow :rolleyes:For preseason all SEC it was steve Spurieer:dunno:

Jealous Motherfucker! He's jealous of Urban and Tebow! Where did you find this out? and how did it come out? Not much of a surprise though. I feel Tebow will try to have a year where he puts up incredible passing numbers to prove the critics wrong. I think he rather have another championship though and I would too.

The Ol' Ball Coach announced it today during SEC media day. Apparently, he didn't fill out the ballot, one of his staffers did. I don't care what he says though, he deliberately snubbed Tebow. You won't convince me otherwise. ESPN has been hyping this all day long. Does it really matter? He got all the other votes. It didn't really affect anything. Had the ballot been for "biggest douche bag", he would have taken it unanimously.

Week 1 Best Games, I nominate:

Georgia @ Oklahoma State

Missouri vs Illinois

Alabama vs Virginia Tech

South Carolina @ North Carolina State

Oregon @ Boise State

Week 1 Biggest Cupcakes:

Charleston Southern at Florida

Louisiana Monroe @ Texas

I'll be at the Bama-VT game in Atlanta... should be a good start to the college football season!

It was a lot of hype on the Tebow thing the best game for weeek one is OKlahome State and Georgia Okay I'm going to say it Oklahoma State will win the Big 12 South I know it is a long shot but everyone is back they played Texas close and even though the lost to Oklahoma 61-41 it was a close game for the most part and Ok State had there chance it is now time to put up or shut up

Don't think so. Ok State lost most of their offense and the problem with their team last year was their defense.. I mean they lost to fucking Oregon in the bowl game! Who did they lose on offense? Do they have Zac Robinson? Dez Bryant? Pettigrew? and their good RB still? If not no...

They only lost Pettigrew on offense beside the other seniors well lets hope there defense comes to play and I have a question for all the college football fans here Jason z brought up the point of defense with OK State but what about the Big 12 as a whole they don't seem to be that good on defense. It seems if they can get a couple of stops on defense they will be okay there was some high scoring games in the Big 12 conference last season

WHAT!!!???? Oklahoma is not a powerhouse? Florida probably should have lost in that National title game, if it wasn't for fluke plays, dumb coaching decisions, and 3 of our top players injured for the game.

Oklahoma probably has more talent than any team in the country this year, but you think USC will give you a tougher challenge? Yes, I know, we always lose the big games, but give us a little respect. You might be regretting those comments if Oklahoma comes fully healthy playing your team in a rematch in the title game.
