really? i think notre dame just finished paying for his crap job of recruiting.

Wow...Willingham left Weis with a ton of talent IMO...

really? he was accused of having weak recruiting every year he was head coach. there was talent there, but i don't think he brought it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notre_Dame_Fighting_Irish_football_under_Tyrone_Willingham

That is why I said they never gave Willingham a chance at ND Rome was not built in a day it took time they replaced one couch with another just like in Michigan they did not have a QB that could run the spread they the people under Carr did not recruit those type of players

What's ironic is that Charlie has been bringing in some great recruiting classes, but it's been the worst Notre Dame seasons of all-time.

Well SR22 UM is my alma mater....I think while we didn't have the QBs we certainly had the talent to win more than 3 games last season.

I think RR placed an emphasis on process as opposed to winning. It should have been explained to him that with all due respect, this isn't WVU....you don't go 3-9 at UM....rebuilding or not.

When I say he placed his premium on process as opposed to winning...what I mean by that is (for example) attempting to play no huddle fast break on offense.

Playing no huddle, up tempo when it's your offense who's confused moreso than than the defense you're hoping to confuse by deploying it hurts your offense's chances of executing....

That's how you lose games to teams like Toledo who only score 3 pts. with their offense.

To whatever degree the defense is capable of carrying the team...it's pretty predictable that they would get the energy sapped out of them by watching their offense doing things they should be practicing on and not deploying in a game.

I quoted the wrong person sorry but hey I totally see what you are saying and understand I'm not a Michigan fan and i know I have been watching football for about 22 years and I have never seen or can remember a Michigan team that bad

It was percentage-wise the worst season in UM history and we haven't lost that many games since Bump Elliott coached UM before Bo. Incredible player for M...pretty average to below average coach.

Okie State finished 4th in the Big 12 last year (behind the Big 3 who were tied). They spent the season in and out of the Top 10. I believe they were the higher ranked team going into the 2008 Holiday Bowl. Oregon and Mr. Sucker Punch ran ~WILD~ over Okie State

And, so, given that Boise State smacked the Ducks around in Autzen last year, given that the Ducks were coming off the greatest Bowl performance of any team (arguably) and given that they had their entire offense back, and given that they talked shit before the game....for "little" Boise to shut them out at half and hold them to 20 yrds, no First downs, is something nobody saw coming and something that Okie State couldn't do. So, if we all get an inflated opinion of Oregon's offense going into this game, than maybe we put too much stock in that Okie State result 6 months ago. Yeah, it's the first game of a new season, but there weren't any significant personal changes on offense.

Maybe Boise State's defense isn't as good/tough as Texas or Oklahoma, but then it's better than every other Big12 defense at this point. :dunno: And it might be good enough to beat Oklahoma again and/or Texas. Maybe we'll get a Boise State vs Texas matchup in the BCS this year. I'd be shocked if Boise State loses a game from here on.

Do you see that you're talking out of your ass right here, in front of us all? I didn't bring up race. YOU DID. Why didn't you just say "that Boise State player" got clowned. No, you made very inflammatory and ignorant remarks about black and white athletes. Maybe you just don't get it. And since you typed this part of your response, clearly you don't get it.

If you don't know someone's name--maybe you should find some other way to refer to him/her other than "that white guy" or "that black guy".

Big 12 Defenses, on balance, are garbage. Oklahoma Fan should shut his piehole because the last time I saw a "vaunted Oklahoma Defense" loaded with NFL stars, it was getting clowned and blown out in the Orange Bowl against a Pac10 team:dunno:

I think Texas, Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Alabama all have serious issues going into the season. Even the Gators have issues. Do the Gators have any WRs worth shit? Percy Harvin is gone....Tebow can't run his way to an NC, can he? He's gonna have to throw it to someone other than Aaron Hernandez (whos a legit scary stud, btw).

First of all I never said a "black guy" You just said I made a remark about a black athlete haha.. your real funny bro. Once again, are you really that politically correct that no one can refer to someone as that white player? lol.. Show me were I brought up race.. The cocksuker tried to look like the white guy who talks all this shit and thinks he's a badass then he get's knocked out like he did. If he was hispanic I would refer to him as a hispanic player nonthing about race.. You brought it up not me. Since the guy was a no name player I didn't know him.

Tebow sure did well without Percy some games last year in the passig game. It wasnt like he caught that many balls. Most of his big plays were on the ground. Hernandez (Notice no Hispanic player) is a fucking beast. We also got Deonte Thompson a fast unknown player but good, and Riley Cooper. Key is watch for the speedsters this year all around the field. Rainey, Demps and Brandon James.

^
I think they can beat Bama, too. Va Tech has a pretty slick QB--if he can complete some passes on Bama early, the Tide won't be able to just try to squash the run. The Tide are going to be breaking in a new QB--this is a tough game to debut in if you're a new QB...

Nick Saban has had difficulty following up a big season with another big season....

Oh nice titsrock! You can read the bottomline on ESPN!! Good for you. As Christian Bale would say. I got VT.. People are making too big a deal about VT's RB being out. Their back up is good too. Matchup to watch is the Special teams. Who wins. Arenas or Beamers great Special teams? VT also has a good defense.

Yeah, and the last time I saw "The greatest defense of all-time", Jacquizz Rodgers sliced and diced them for over 200 yards. :hatsoff:

Jason Z here's hoping you can stay with this response. :glugglug: Let's review everything you've typed thus far.

Fuck! DID anybody see what blount did at the end. Damn he knocked that bitch out. wow. Guy went ape shit but he made that white guy look like a fool and a fag. He messed with the wrong mother fucker.

So, right off the bat you're calling a white player a fool and a fag:rolleyes: How do I not read race into that?

that guy knew what he was doing talking shit. and what is the coach really going to say on national t.v. it probably happened really fast for him. That white lineman got what he deserved if you ask me but Blount was pissed. Pretty dis-graceful. Hate to see athletes get into with the fans like that. It was close to a fan/player brawl. That shit I dont like keep it between the players if there has to be any fights. or punches thrown. but hey this is just thursday.. Wait till monday when the criminoles and Miami thugs heat it up monday night if you thought this was bad.. Fuck both of them We own the state.

Again, race up front. You also admit that it's okay to sucker punch somebody in public (even though that may technically be assault). What I didn't comment before is that you also seem to think fighting between players might be a necessity in certain situations. That's another ridiculous statement. These are amateur athletes, not professionals.

okay......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNypDGoC_8M You dont know the two schools apparently. I never said race had anything to do with it. lol. I was just reffering to him as that white lineman. It made no difference. Except if that was a black guy he A) would not have not looked like a fag getting knocked out and B) he probably would not have gotten knocked out so hard. And might have fought back who knows.. Nothing about race! []Blounts an asshole but fuck that guy. He knew what he was going to get doing that shit. Fuck him.

The parts I emphasized are your most outrageous racial statements, fwiw. Though you didn't identify Blount as Black, given all of these responses, you really didn't need to. You've made you point repeatedly. A "black guy" would not look like a fag. I don't really see how you can make that statement unless you're loading it up with racial connotations.

You've attacked a player you only cared to identify as white, and by after this response, it didn't occur to you to listen to ESPN (at the minimum) to identify the Boise player by name. Did you even watch the game? Byron Hout was playing pretty much the whole game for the Boise defense. :dunno:

^^ I do.. Both those 2 defenses are all the Big 12 has. Mushchamp is the only defenseive cordinator worth anything and Texas had to steal him from an SEC school (Auburn) Shows how bad the Big 12 struggles at D. Titsrock? Stereotypes? All I was saying was he was white because I did not know his name. You brought up the white thing. not me. I just said he was the white lineman. And yeah that guy looked like a total douchebag talking shit then getting knocked out like a complete fag. Another white guy may have not looked like a fag as him but he did. Are you so politically correct that I can't say he is a white guy? And Miami and the criminoles have been known for having nonthing but thugs on their teams over the 90's. Do you remember that Warren Sapp team in the 90's.. It has not gotten better. Watch monday night. Those 2 schools hate eachother more than Oregon and Boise State hate eachother too. And just look back at the Pacers/Pistons brawl.. The next day there were brawls in college football. Always is like that. I don't like it but they are young athletes.

By this point, maybe you've realized that it sounds like you're simply attacking a guy because he's white, but you basically weakly defend yourself by claiming that I'm being PC or insinuating that you're really okay? Or maybe not.

No shit that Miami and Florida State are intense rivals and more intense than Oregon and Boise State. Oregon and Boise have about 2 times and how many times have Miami/FSU played? Considering that Miami went on probabtion, lost scholarships over out-of-control player issues, I'm guessing that Miami doesn't want to incur more NCAA penalties by fighting Florida State players. I could be wrong. You seem to think that part of college football involves players fighting each other.

First of all I never said a "black guy" You just said I made a remark about a black athlete haha.. your real funny bro. Once again, are you really that politically correct that no one can refer to someone as that white player? lol.. Show me were I brought up race.. If he was hispanic I would refer to him as a hispanic player nonthing about race.. You brought it up not me. Since the guy was a no name player I didn't know him.

Have you been beaten up by many white guys in your life? You seem to prefer to refer to players by their race, not their names, but yet I'm supposed to "know" that this isn't racial commentary? Huh? I'm clearly more PC than you are, but even that thought pattern escapes me...

Why should we care about Deonte Thompson? You just said he's unknown but good? So which is it? Doesn't that mean he's really unknown until he proves BEING KNOWN by doing something on the field? Florida has speed last season too. I think Florida needs players who can catch the ball.

And so can you! I actually watched College Gameday talk about Alabama. And that fact about Saban (which they've been prattling about for weeks) does seem like something to keep in mind. I don't really think it matters who runs the ball for Va Tech. Their QB, Tyrod Taylor, is going to have to win it for them. I guess Beamer Ball could block 2 or 3 Bama punts and run them in for TDs, but that doesn't really seem likely. I'll go with Taylor having to make plays with his feet AND arm for Va Tech to win. He's experienced. The Bama QB is not and going against VA Tech D...that's a challenge for a QB's first game.

Clemson was supposed to represent a challenge to Alabama, and they got rolled badly last year in the opener. So, we'll see. It would be awesome if Saban and Bama lost their first game of the season. I would love that.
