The ACC should turn out with Clemson & Ga Tech in the championship game. But that depends on which Clemson team shows us to play FSU, NC Stata, & UVa.

Don't argue with that guy Jagger. He has no idea what he is talking about!

Let's keep in mind to this point UNC has underachieved. They are talented and were considered preseason contenders for the conference title.

The ACC will be up and down....HOWEVER they're probably top to bottom a notch above my beloved B10 right now...they certainly have more athletes.

(Sheesh...that was more painful to acknowledge than I thought it would be.)

Fuck yeah, Boiler Up! The loudest I've ever heard our stadium was in 2000 against the Buckeyes when Brees hit Seth Morales for a 65 yard TD to put us ahead late in the 4th quarter. On OSU's next drive, squadrons of fighter pilots could have flown over the stadium and not been heard it was so damn loud! There are definitely louder, bigger, and better stadiums, but Ross-Ade will always be my favorite.

I enjoyed visiting there. But I have to say that of all the Div 1 football stadiums I've visited, which off the top of my head is about 30, Purdue's had the dorkiest student section :1orglaugh :glugglug:

^ Since I'm facing demons this morning I might as well get this off my chest and I know I'm going to catch hell for it.I don't know if you guys watch the Herd of listne to it onESPN radio but he made some good points about the SEC and I know all you guys won't disagree with me or agree, but it is an matter of opinion and yeah i live in SEC country but the fact of the matter is that the SEC is not as gopod as everyone saids it is I mean it does not suck but it is down and I mean really down everyone wants to say how good Alabama is and a few months ago that same team had their ass handed to them by Utah yes Utah a teamI think should have been National Champion but we are not going to get into that because Flordia would have killed them last season.Anyway Flordia should be better but they do have a new OC they are living on defense.Alabama has not played anyone, yeah I said it I know Iowa is in the Big Ten but if they run the table put them in the National Champion to play Texas who I think will be in if they run the table.if Alabama so happens to suffer a lose bye-bye BCS hello Capitol One Bowl the only team they beat was VA.Tech and we saw what happened to them last night another lose anyway,Like i said the SEC is good not great Tennessee should have beat Alabama and Flordia is not playing up to par Georgia has fallen off the face of the planet. How real is LSU,Arkansas is rebuilding,Ole Miss is overrated very painful to say but is the truth and South Carolina are you serious I had them winning 4 games they are doing great throw USC back in the race if Flordia or Alabama has a lost who could run the table easy but that is enough about that but as of right now Texas is my National Champ I would not mind seeing a rematch of USC and Texas but now I'm rambling see you guys later got to work tonight.:hatsoff:

True. If Bama and Florida both finish with a loss, then I would expect undefeated Texas, Cincy, Boise, TCU, Iowa, a one loss USC, and one loss Oregon to be in the NC game before Bama and Florida. But since the SEC is the greatest conference of all time, the SEC champ will get in regardless.

I read an interesting article about matchups that "nobody" wants to see in the NC game.

It's complete bullshit, but it does shine some light on how teams like Iowa, TCU and Cincinnati are perceived on a national scale. It seems a lot of teams will be handicapped before they even get a chance to prove themselves.

Yes, on some of my off days from school I listen to The Herd. I think Colin is hilarious and his show much better than Mike and Mike, but you have to remember.... he's a USC, Pac 10 guy. He's a little bit biased, and he'll admit that himself.

I don't think a 1 loss USC team is better than a 1 loss Florida team... but I'll take USC over a 1 loss Alabama team any day. As for Oregon... if they beat USC and it's not no fluke, then I might consider them over Alabama. It just depends on how Bama finishes the season.

I think you can make the case all the conferences are down this season, except for the Pac 10. Even with that said, the Pac 10 isn't better than the Big 12 or the SEC.

a few lurking predictions:
-Cincinnati will win, but Syracuse will scare them. 10 point game.
-Purdue is going to whip Wisconsin
-no one cares about ohio st. and new mexico
-N.C. State over Florida State by two score
-Housten is going down to southern Miss
-Florida is going to struggle, but win.
-USC will lose to Oregon by a fieldgoal
-Texas will cream Oklahoma state.

just my own thoughts and hopes. i like underdogs!

I've got USC 24 Oregon 23 -- SC wins with a last second FG. But I'm not confident in my prediction because Stud TE Extraordinaire Anthony McCoy has a tweaked knee and may not play. He's Barkley's leading pass catcher I believe....

I'll be watching #8 -- Ronald Johnson to see if he has a breakout game. Oregon's weakness is always secondary. They resemble Duck Flambe moreso than Gang Green.....

As for Texas - Chokie State---Texas B I G. I think this will be a total blowout. UT 48 Okie State 13

Florida 31 Georgia 19 seems about right.....

Clearly you haven't watched any Oregon games this year. The Oregon secondary is ranked sixth in the nation and has been shutting down opponents for the last six games. Boise St was a fluke, and USC is going to find out just how much when they hit a wall at Autzen on Saturday.

Hey man, any of us can be wrong. If not, we'd all be at Mandalay Bay in the sports book.

I'm becoming an Iowa convert. They were down 21-7 at the half to Indiana and stormed back to win it 42-24. I know Indiana isn't exactly a powerhouse, but they ain't no doormat either. The Hawkeyes continue to show an amazing resiliency and they always find a way to win. Impressive.

I'm thinking that if both USC and Texas can win tonight (that's a big if), they should both run the table the rest of the way. These are the biggest hurdles left for either team. After tonight, Texas has UCF at home, Baylor away, Kansas at home and Texas A & M in College Station. USC has Arizona State on the road and ends up with 3 straight home games against Stanford, UCLA and Arizona to close out the season.

Tonight should be killer. OSU always plays the 'Horns tough so I'm not anticipating a blowout in Stillwater. USC going up Autzen Stadium is a tough challenge for them as well. Should be great games.

I don't know if anyone else saw the game between Houston and Southern Mississippi but WOW....what a duel!!! It was back and forth all day but the Coogs eventually won it with a Case Keenum TD pass (his 5th of the game) with 21 seconds to play to pull off the win at home, 50-43. Great game to watch.

He likely won't win it but Keenum unquestionably deserves Heisman consideration. He's unbelievable. If you've never seen him play, you're missing a treat.

^that was an amazing game - almost 100 points scored? wow.

southern miss did a good number on the ranked houston, i thought...

I knew it would be a wild one. USM is good. Keenum just finds a way to win. It only took Houston 36 seconds to score their final TD and Keenum had 558 yards passing in the game. NO ONE is ringing up the stats like Keenum is right now. Really fun to watch.

How in the hell they ever lost that game to UTEP I will never understand....:dunno:

you make a good point. These are the kind of numbers that Teebow was supposed to put up, and he's not. Plus, Keenum really seems to have not only the respect of his team, but good control over the team. That's the stuff of Heisman quality players, I think.

meh, everyone has bad days. Where do you think they would be ranked without that loss?
