2014 Sochi Winter Olympics thread

Awesome. Gold for Ireen Wüst in Women's 3000m Speed Skating. Btw she is homosexual! Eat that Putin! :D

Unfortunately, Pechstein only made 4th place. :( So close...

Aww man our poor hockey girls. Were fighting really good, even scored for the lead. But now they get overrun by the Russian girls. 4-1 at three minutes to go. :(

Also Evi was really good, but that one missed shot cost her a better position.

That's the bad part when you start from the beginning. You can see yourself falling from the 1st place when Domracheva and Makkarainen finish after you
Even though Makkarainen made too many mistakes.

Damn if Evi didn't miss that one shot she'd still be second or third. The results behind Kuzmina are really close!

The Japanese women's hockey team with a respectable nil-1 loss to Sweden.

They played about as good as they could have hoped I suppose. Their coach is a Canadian former gold medalist who, when asked what she expected them to do, said only getting Bronze would be sufficient.

High expectations. After watching them play though I wouldn't entirely rule out getting Bronze. That would be like us getting Gold I think though, so that will be tough.

The medal count thus far - I thought Russia would have more!

Norway 2 1 4
Netherlands 2 1 1
United States 2 0 2
Canada 1 2 1
Russia 1 2 1
Austria 1 1 0
German 1 0 0

If they wanted to add some life to the ice dancing crap, they should combine it with the biathlon, and have the biathaetes shoot at the skaters.

Just an idea.

Yes that was a sad moment in the opening ceremonies and destined to be the butt of many laughs...:picardfacepalm:
