... But...."poached too many of our coaches".....who in the world are you talking about?

And didn't we set the stage for you guys to get Gene Chizik?? Please elaborate.

Defensive coordinators, Gene Chizik and Will Muschamp were at Auburn when Texas hired them.

Chizik wasn't bad as a defensive coordinator, but I absolutely knew he would be a horrible head coach. Many Auburn fans knew this and were ready to revolt when he was hired, but he did do one brilliant thing after he got to Auburn. He hired Gus Malzahn as offensive coordinator. Due to this, I begrudgingly gave him a chance. The result was Malzahn's offense driving Auburn to the 2010 title despite some interference from Chizik. When Malzahn left and Chizik had the team all to himself, he changed the offense and I told all my friends that Auburn would suffer and probably finish 6-6. They thought I was nuts, but Auburn was actually worse by finishing 3-9.

Irish fan here. If Bama and FSU play for the NC, and the Noles win, they'll be my second fave CFB team.

bama fan here...fsu will beat whatever team they play. for bama to get there they must beat auburn. and THEN...win the sec championship. that is a BIG spoonful. if they do all that. i cant see them beating fsu. maybe i am wrong.:chickendance::chickendance:

Whoever wins the Iron Bowl, will win the SEC. Right now, I don’t see Missouri or South Carolina beating either Alabama or Auburn.

If Alabama wins, they’ll play FSU, and as good as the Seminoles are, they are not a lock to beat Alabama.

I could see this game playing out much like the Tide & Aggies game.

The key for a Tide win would be putting pressure on Winston, because the Seminoles sure as **** won’t be able to run against that super-quick defensive line.

The key for a FSU win is two-fold. They have to put pressure on McCarron and try to stop the Tide running game.

If Auburn wins the Iron Bowl, FSU will most likely play Ohio State, or Baylor.

If the Seminoles play Ohio State, this game will be a beat-down of EPIC proportions. Possibly even more than the one FSU piled on top of Clemson. Ohio State would have no chance in this one.

I’m still convinced that if Baylor wins out, they will pass Ohio State in the BCS, but the real test for Baylor is this weekend against Oklahoma State. If they win that one, they will crush TCU and more than likely, give Mack Brown his walking papers the following week.

A Baylor vs. FSU matchup would be fun to watch. Baylor averages over 700 yards a game, and over 60 points a game.

If that matchup happens, expect a rating’s bonanza as most of the country would be thrilled that an SEC team is not there.

I agree that the FSU passing ****** would give the OSU secondary some major problems. But other than that, I really don't see any advantage that FSU would have over OSU. If that game did happen, I think it would be a great match-up and probably high scoring. I would give FSU the edge for the reason I already stated, but I don't think it would be a blow out. OSU would have a great chance at beating FSU (Alabama too).

I think they will too, but I think it will be closer than what people might think. Baylor's schedule isn't much tougher than OSU's. Michigan St (assuming they play in Big 10 champ) and Wisconsin are better than any team Baylor would have played IMO.

There's a lot of football left so we'll see what pans out. I do agree that Baylor should pass Ohio State in the stupid BCS since they don't play anybody worth a **** in the rotten-ass Big 10 (man....remember when the Big 10 was THE conference?? Well, I sure do....been a long, long time)....if they can get past OSU (that's Oklahoma State here in Big 12 country). Oh....if Mack walks, it will be of his own volition and he'll quietly "retire" rather than be fired. It's supposedly in his contract. My ***** come true....he never could coach but now he can't assemble a staff either and that's going to be his undoing.

It would make for a helluva NC game to have Baylor take on FSU. It would also be fun to see FSU **** 'Bama....right smoker?? First time I've seen you less than obnoxiously cocky about the Tide in a long, long time....an ominous harbinger, dare I say even a portend of things to come, perhaps? Hmmm??? What say ye, he whose face is red?? Oh wait, you've already conceded defeat. So....is FSU really that much better than everyone else???

Lastly, no way am I jinxing the rest of Missouri's season by commenting on what I think the result of an Auburn-Mizzou title game would be. Let's wait and see when (and, mostly, if) it happens and then I'll be glad to make a prediction. Until then, all I am worried about is Ole Miss.

Ohio State has only beaten 2 ranked teams this year (#23 & #16) and both were close.

Baylor crushed #10 Oklahoma, followed by another crushing of Texas Tech (ranked the week before).

Up next is #10 Oklahoma State and their last game will be Texas who will probably be ranked if they beat Tech.

Add in that Ohio State's BCS lead is only .0013 points, and it seems obvious that Baylor controls their own destiny. Only OK State stands in the way.

Im not going to try and sell the Big 10 as some great conference (because it's not), but I also dont believe the Big 12 is either. I'd much rather play OU and Oklahoma St, than Wisconsin and Michigan State.

I've already said that Baylor will pass my Buckeyes.

OSU's biggest problem is style points. We're not beating our opponents like the margin of Baylor.

People are putting way too much stock into OU, they are horrible! Has anyone watched them play? And Oklahoma St is not that great either. How are they getting these top 10 rankings? It's so wrong.

It's tough being a Big 10 fan. No one takes us serious.

Allot of highly ranked teams have fallen this year, every game stands on its own, FSU is no different. I would love that kind of cockiness from FSU, Ohio State's Defense needs a mild reboot, but the Offense is solid. Hyde is a ***** and the
O-Line breaks great running lanes. I think it will be closer than you think!

Why no love for Texas? Just don't like 'em?? I could understand that....lots of people **** the 'Horns....even those out of the Big 12.

And thanks for rooting for Mizzou against A&M but I'd appreciate you pulling for them against Ole Miss first! :D

Ole Miss is going to be a tough game. I'm going to go ahead and say Ole Miss wins in a nail biter. Mizzou is a good program but you have to admit they're snake bitten and I only see heartbreak in their future this year, I want to believe in them but I just can't, they always screw it up.

Spoken like a true Zou-lander!!

And a pox on your entire statement! It's true we are used to heartbreak. However, this is the best defense we have ever had. Sam, Ealy, Golden, Wilson....these guys have been dominant all year. Franklin is coming back and now Mauk has enough experience that we can count on him if we need to. DGB is finally starting to live up to his press clippings, Washington, Lucas and Sasser have been off the charts at WR, Josey, Murphy and Hansbrough have been terrific at RB, the O-line has blown opposing D-lines off the ball on occasions. I have been following this school since 1964 and I can tell you without fear of a significant challenge that this is the best team we've ever had at Mizzou, Tony. It's now or never from my viewpoint. We need to win out and see what transpires from there. Nothing we can do about the BCS. Knock off the negative thinking and start ******** the Kool-Aid, ok Bubba??

Just don't get me started about Baggett....damn....maybe you're right! :suicide:   :brick: :hairpull:

One of the biggest problems Ohio State always had is a lack of common sense when it came to recruiting.
(I haven't watched them the past 2 years, so I don't know if Urban Meyer has fixed that)

With their offensive and defensive linemen, they recruited size, not speed. It may sound good when you say our linemen averages 6-foot-6, 340 pounds, but when that line is slow and easily winded, sooner or later, you're gonna get an ass-whooping. This is why they and other Big 10 teams have struggled against SEC teams.

Yep. Too many cornfed and cornfused behemoths and not enough skill and speed at key positions. I grew up a Big 10 follower (Illinois....I know....but they have had some good teams over the years). I think Ohio State suffers that stigma by association unfortunately. They are undefeated but, frankly, I'm not sure just how good they are because I have yet to see them be seriously tested. Unfair? Maybe, but that's the way it is.

Also...RayBuck...I agree that the Big 12 is a shell of its former self so I am not coming at this from a holier-than-thou perspective, OK?? If fucking Texas crushed Oklahoma, how in the hell can they be ranked #10?? Ridiculous....riding on reputation only as far as I am concerned.

If recruiting future NFL players is a "lack of common sense", then yes, Ohio State guilty of that. OSU just happens to put more players in the NFL than most SEC teams.

Ohio State lost REALLY BAD to Florida in the national title and it appears that will forever be held against us. And it didn't help we lost the LSU the following year.

But our lack of speed seemed to fair well against a speedy Oregon in the 2010 Rose Bowl, and Arkansas (an SEC team) in 2011 Sugar Bowl.

Also, if you haven't watch OSU in the past 2 years, how do you know they'll get smashed against FSU?

I happen to think OSU beating Wisconsin is a very impressive win. More impressive than Baylor beating up on a bad overrated OU team. But because OU was ranked #10 at the time, everyone is jizzing their pants. I've watched OU a lot this year and they're really bad .

Well, I do have a friend that watches Ohio State and he tells me the Buckeye secondary won't survive Winston's passing ******.

As for the Bowl games you mentioned, I would say Oregon and Arky just didn't have their heart in the game. The best example I can give would be the 2009 Sugar Bowl, Bama vs. Utah. Bama lost to Florida in the SEC game, so they had to settle for the Sugar Bowl instead of a chance for a national title shot. Bama should of stomped Utah, but it was obvious they just didn't care about winning since the title wasn't on the line.
