reading the smackdown and raw weekly thread here on freeones has really opened my eyes to the backstage stuff that goes on with the wwe, ive read on several occasions about former superstars ripping the company. i have to agree with test here, using eddie guerrero's death as a storyline is simply sad, i'd much rather see more of the juniors division then hear about eddie guerrero's death anymore.
it's not that i don't wanna hear about Eddie's anymore.
it's just that i don't wanna see it being used in storylines, especially if wrestlers are trying to get heat by making fun of Eddie, it's sick.

i think wrestling is much better when you get to know about the backstage stuff too... there's so much more to wrestling that most people think.
i hate it when people take this piss out of wrestling fans saying stuff like "you know it's not real don't you"
they don't understand what really goes on in the wrestling industry.

Though sick, but as I posted earlier, the WWE is keeping Eddie's name around for the Hall of Fame ceremony, as he is the biggest name and will be a big induction.

PWInsider reports that right after Joey Styles walked through the curtain at the end of the Royal Rumble PPV, Vince McMahon grabbed him and took him aside and gave him another verbal beating. It was previously reported that Vince doesn’t like how Joey Styles puts more emphasis on wrestling moves than over the storylines.

This isn’t the first time that Vince has complained to Styles, and before him, Coach was the one getting the heat from Vince.

There is a feeling backstage that WWE hadn’t realized what they had with Jim Ross until he was gone. Whether Ross would ever consider coming back or not is unknown Ross is pretty much financially set right now, and is likely not very happy with what WWE did to him when he left. There is however still a contract sent to him by WWE which we don’t have anything new on right now.

PWInsider is reporting that prior to running the storyline in which Rey Mysterio dedicated his Royal Rumble performance to Eddie Guerrero, WWE approached the late wrestler's family members about the plan.

WWE also told the Guerrero family that it was going to have the heels talk badly about Eddie; Rey would then come to Eddie's defense.

While it is not believed that the Guerrero family was enthused about the idea, there is no indication that they were extremely upset either.

Still, as a storyline it's in very poor taste.....:(

It is crossing the line. If they want his name out there, fine but I believe that they have taking it to far.

From WWE's point of view, they are a business and have to do whatever they can to create faces and heels. They are taking advantage of a crappy situation.

I don't agree with it but I understand why they do it.

There is said to be talk within WWE about making Hacksaw Jim Duggan a returning character on TV and even possibly part of a tag team with Goldust. Of course, nothing has been finalized yet as it is just early talk.

Bob "Hardcore" Holly has been undergoing some surgery recently and will be undergoing more this month, which explains why he hasn't been with the company full-time for a while.

PWInsider reports that a rumor is going around backstage that WWE spliced in footage of the crowd popping, from a previous event, when Cena won the title at the Rumble. This could have been from something a few years ago with The Rock or Steve Austin, and was used because the crowd didn’t pop as loud as they had hoped for Cena.

WWE originally took the title off of Cena because most of their male adult demographic had been booing him, however didn’t want to turn him heel because of how much merchandise he moves and the fact that the child and female demographics love him.

There are several indications that there is nothing behind these rumors however, one being that it is extremely hard to splice in old footage into a live broadcast without anyone noticing. Another is that WWE probably wouldn’t have put the title back on Cena if they thought people were going to boo him, however as we all know, WWE does a lot of things that may not make sense to us.

It is still unknown whether Cena knows about this or, if it is true, whose decision it was.

WWE.com has posted yet another Tim White 'Lunchtime Suicide'. This time, he hooks a brick around his neck and ducks his head into a fish tank, thus drowning himself.

The Sun Online posted an interview with Matt Hardy. "As far as Edge goes, I don't speak to him and have no dealings with him," said Hardy. On Lita, Hardy stated, "I'm absolutely fine with Amy, we're actually pretty close right now."

The Stacy Keibler Stuff Magazine pictures can be found at www.gorillamask.net. Keibler made one of today's LA Daily News gossip columns. On her plans after Dancing with the Stars: "I moved out to L.A. two years ago and got right into acting class. That's ultimately what I want to do. I'd love to have a career either in film or TV. Hopefully people will enjoy following my career after this."

Believe it or not, the week after WWE did the Raw and SmackDown tributes to Eddie Guerrero, announcers were told to no longer talk about the former WWE champion.

An Inspirational Champion
Feb. 9, 2006

The entire OVW roster surrounded the ring Wednesday night in Louisville, KY, as WWE Tough Enough III winner and OVW Champion Matt Cappotelli addressed the crowd in a truly touching moment.

The 26-year-old Cappotelli, who was on the verge of debuting on WWE television several times before being sidelined by a series of unfortunate events, was making his first OVW appearance since being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. During his speech, Cappotelli expressed his love for professional wrestling and said that he would like to lead by example. He then did exactly that when he surrendered his title over to OVW official Danny Davis. According to the emotional Cappotelli, he fully accepts the responsibility of being a champion and his current situation unfortunately prohibits him from being champion right now.

Being a man of faith, Cappotelli believes that being diagnosed with a brain tumor happened for a reason. During his emotional speech, the Tough Enough III winner said that his faith will never waiver. In fact, he hopes to be an inspirational example to others going through similar situations.

The touching moment continued as many members of the OVW roster offered words of support as the crowd chanted “We love you, Matt.”

Afterwards, OVW official Paul Heyman was visibly moved by Cappotelli’s heartfelt speech, saying “It was surreal. It was amazing. It was divine.”

Triple H believes that John Cena lost the crowd's support due to Kurt Angle's failure to portray an effective heel.

One excuse WWE officials are using to explain his souring rapport with male WWE fans, however, is that the wrestler is simply too good looking. Those buying into this logic feel that male fans are threatened by the wrestler's looks.

WWE used the same excuse when fans turned on Shawn Michaels much earlier in his career.

man what the hell is the deal with all the hate on John Cena. He's a god damn good wrestler. I'm sticking with this guy cause he's taking there shit and showing them why he's one of the top wrestlers in the business.

Can't stand his "Vanilla Ice" rap shtick.....

I don't like the Cena gimmick. He only ever uses a couple of moves now.

He is being mis-used because I remember when he first came in to WWE he was a good wrestler who used several moves and had the potential but now I believe his gimmick is killing him.

WWE.com posted an update earlier today stating that after a meeting lasting several hours with Simon Inoki, WWE is optimistic about developing a working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling. ““We also talked about different opportunities between WWE and Japan.” said John “Ace” Laurinaitis of the meeting with Inoki. “I wish his company the best of luck in the future, and chances are that there will be another meeting between us scheduled soon.”

It should be noted that TNA and New Japan have been working together for a while now. WWE’s very public coverage of the meeting with New Japan could be another shot at TNA, similar to the time they ran a story on “Jarrett At WWE Headquarters” when Jerry Jarrett was there not too long ago.

It’s been previously reported that TNA has plans for another World X-Cup sometime this year, and they would very likely want talent from New Japan to compete in.

It’s unknown right now whether the meeting between Inoki and WWE was a serious one, and if so what effects it would have on their relationship with TNA.

isn't Brock Lesnar the New Japan Pro Wrestling Champion?
i know he was at some point.

Most recently storylines in WWE are said to have come from Vince McMahon. Vince seems to be the main creative force in WWE at the moment, including the brains behind the Eddie Guerrero and Tim White storylines.

2 of the worst storylines i've seen in years :ban:
