That possibly could be it, I honestly don't remember much about it except it was a really good idea and it added an angle for more fued's if the team failed or if they picked two out of the lottery that hated each other. I always thought WCW had way better PPV's or at least more creative like the 3 story cage, the cage on the semi-truck as they drove down the highway, the Starcade fued with Japan vs. USA, the WWIII royal rumble match with the 2-3 or rings, things like that.
Now that was a rumble. 3 rings, dozens of guys tossed out everywhere. But, I don't think the WWE would go for that idea.:nono:

The following matches have been confirmed for the upcoming WWE No Way Out PPV (SmackDown brand) so far on February 19, live and only on pay per view from Baltimore, MD:
World Heavyweight Championship Match - Kurt Angle (c) vs. The Undertaker
and
Winner Gets World Title Shot At WrestleMania 22 - Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton.
Expect more matches to be announced very soon.

WWE.com is reporting that Candice will be appearing on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday night.

Monday Night Raw Preview
The Road to WrestleMania continues as RAW rolls into Atlanta this week.
A tournament will be held to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship, and it will begin Monday night on RAW. The opening round of The Road to WrestleMania Tournament, which will feature four matches, will be completed by the time RAW goes off the air.
In first round action, Rob Van Dam will take on Carlito. Carlito aggravated RVD's knee injury on the Cabana back in June, which set Mr. Monday Night back another six months. Now that he's back, RVD not only has the WWE Championship on his mind, but also some revenge.
Chris Masters, along with Carlito, was responsible for eliminating Kane from the New Year's Revolution Elimination Chamber. Then, last week the Big Red Machine was unable to break the Master Lock. Will Kane have better luck this week as he takes on Chris Masters in another first round matchup?
The history between Ric Flair and Triple H is well-documented...and very personal. They have been the best of friends and the worst of enemies. And they will get to write another chapter to their rivalry in the first round of the tournament.
Also in the first round, Shawn Michaels will take on Big Show. HBK already has a lot on his mind with Mr. McMahon, and now his son Shane. The Showstopper will need to focus all of his attention on Big Show if he hopes to advance in the tournament.

Last week, Edge defeated John Cena by disqualification when Lita hit the Rated R Superstar with the WWE Championship while Cena had him set up for the F-U. While Edge won the match, the gold did not change hands, leaving the Rated R Superstar still a challenger. On top of all of this, Edge and Lita left the arena separately. How will all of this impact their relationship?

Also last week, Shane McMahon struck again, nailing Shawn Michaels with a chair as Mr. McMahon looked on. How will HBK react to this latest setback in his standoff with the WWE Chairman?

Plus, the tensions between Trish Stratus, Ashley and Mickie James continue to rise. How will Ashley and Trish react to Mickie’s actions during her celebration for the Women’s Champion last week?

Tune into RAW Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network to see what happens.

On the topic of the PPVs, WWE only had a few hard-named PPVs back in the day. Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series. Those other ones that got names thrown on them were part of the "In Your House" push, which would feature a PPV almost every month with a different name. Rock Bottom, the one you mentioned was one of these. It was funny, living in Vancouver at the time when they started hyping the event, the Rock wasn't even the champion or in any matches that would give him a chance to be. But he was the title feature of the posters/name of the PPV. Well, it was interesting to me.

Anyway, back on topic, WWE dropped the IYH caption and solidified the names of the PPVs in their respective slots. Some of them now allude to a certain history in WWE history. (Having the IYH concept, they named the PPV whatever they needed to sell the main event. Final 4, No Way Out (Hell in the Cell), Bad Blood (was Austin and Hart I think or something, some fued) etc.

i still haven't watched a PPV. Someday i will. I think i would like to see Kane as the Champion. i think it would be interesting if that were to happen. all the other camps talk to damn much sometimes. all Kane has to do is walk down to the ring, kick ass and leave.

In speaking of tournaments does anyone remember the name of the tournament in WCW where they took random wrestlers and made them be tag partners, then I think the surviving tag teams just went at it in a over the rope battle royal.

I remember seeing this. I looked it up and the first thing I found was Starrcade '91 and they called it Battle Bowl, won by Lex Luger. They did it again the following Starrcade, this one was won by the Great Muta . In 1993, they moved Battle Bowl to its own PPV in November called Battle Bowl: The Lethal Lottery (won by Vader). This is what I remember it being called, though I know I saw the Starrcade '91 on PPV as well. I believe this is the last time WCW ever did this. It was kinda cool. You always get the "random" drawings where somehow a heel tag team ended up together (usually by bribing) or a tag team being on opposite sides.

Kane has already been champ. For what? About 24 hours. Then he lost it the next night to Austin. Good piece of history from the Attitude era.:fight:

on WWE.com

Who will win the Road to WM 22 Tournament?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RVD - 46.65 %
Carlito - 1.47 %
Masters - 1.86 %
Kane - 8.31 %
Triple H - 23.62 %
Flair - 1.59 %
HBK - 12.03 %
Big Show - 4.42 %

anyone with a brain knows who's gonna win it, this poll just shows that the fans votes on WWE.com mean nothing.

Battle Bowl sounded familiar so upon checking further on Wikipedia the tournament I was talking about was 1996's Slamboree Battle Bowl/Lord Of The Ring Tournament which was won by DDP.

Speaking of DDP, I wonder since his last stint in TNA if he will ever return, he was one of the old ones that I always loved watching.

I'm late with this comment.

But I saw the Rumble live, and it sucked!

Dude's were missin cues left n right, havin to throw them damn selves out the ring... why can't wrestlers even fake it these days..

Ah yes, I forgot about the Lord of the Ring one. Good call on that. I just remembered the old school ones off the top of my head. I remember it being called the Lethal Lottery, but I dont remember the one Vader won...though I do remember bits and pieces of the one Luger won. So long ago, kinda jumbled together.

Well thanks to some bullshit equipment problem, RAW went off air about 2 minutes in and isn't going to be show out here.......bastards.

After Monday Night Raw went off the air, WWE champion John Cena pinned Edge in a dark match.

They announced it was Jonathan Coachman's birthday, so Mick Foley, Joey Styles, Lillian Garcia, and Jerry Lawler led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to him. Foley then surprised Coach with the Mandible Claw and took him out:rofl2:

If WWE has its way, Bret Hart and the late Eddie Guerrero will be the marquee names inducted to the Hall Of Fame during WrestleMania weekend, reports the Wrestling-Observer.

No other names have been finalized, and WWE officials remain doubtful that Hart will agree to appear, meaning that Guerrero will likely end up the biggest name inducted this time around.

That notion is partially evident in storyline, as WWE's keeping Guerrero's name alive definitely positions his induction as the feature attraction.

Recently, Shawn Michaels said that he would be willing to skip the Hall Of Fame ceremony if it meant that Bret Hart would agree to appear, but those close to Hitman have made it clear that the issue goes far deeper than Shawn Michaels.

DDP has some significant injuries at the moment of his last leave from the ring. I don't remember the details but they were serious enough to put him out for good. "Hardest working man in wrestling", I loved the DDP v. Savage fueds. Soo amazing.

DDP still wrestles??? I keep hearing about wrestlers still going at it when I thought they where retired. Is there something over in Europe there doing. If Triple H becomes champion again I'm going to become very pissed. And I know Kane was Champion once but I would still like to see him become it again.

WWE.com has announced that Mark Henry will face the Undertaker this Friday on SmackDown! Also scheduled for the show is a fatal four-way match to determine Booker T's opponent for the U.S. Title at No Way Out, between Orlando Jordan, Chris Benoit, Matt Hardy, and JBL. Gregory Helms will also put his Cruiserweight Title on the line against Nunzio.

A new section under Kurt Angle's superstar profile chronicles Kurt's top ten greatest rivalries.

A replica of the 1986 version of the WWE title is now up for sale on WWEshop.com

DDP doesn't currently wrestle far as I know. Mark Henry has shown me great Promise in his last wrestling match, his future as a long distance runner is very bright indeed.

How'd this topic fall off the first page? :p

Former WWE superstar 'Test' has attacked the company on his official website over the usage of Eddie Guerrero's name in current storylines. Check out AndrewTestMartin.com.

It doesn't seem to appear that Brock Lesnar and WWE were able to reach a conclusion after their four hour settlement conference on Monday. There is another hearing scheduled for today.

i agree with Test here, i really do not like the way Randy Orton has been trying to put himself over as a heel by speaking ill of Eddie Guerrero.
last week when watching SmackDown! i actually cringed when he said that thing about Eddie being in hell.
i don't care if it is only a show, that's not cool

here's the full post on his website

Hey everyone..what's up? Well just when I think the WWE can't get any lower and I don't mean attendance and payoffs.....What I have seen of the handling of Eddies death wants to make me puke. You know? When Eddie past away, I said to a friend of mine that instead of mourning I betcha Vince is thinkn of how he can make money out of this? Not to say I said so but to be honest I didn't see the burning of Eddies low ryder..I heard about it which was enufff to make me sick then...and now I see Randy Orton saying " Eddie is in hell"...is that how desperate this company is right now...I wonder what does Eddies wife and three beautifull children think when they hear people saying that their husband and father are in hell? Is there no boundaries to this...disgrace..this...CHEAP heat. I wonder how Eddies kids feel when they go to school{and we all know how cruel children can be} and get ridiculed and made fun of because their dad is supposidly in hell? I wonder how Eddies wife feels when the man she stood by for so long and changed his life around is being told to MILLIONS of people that her husband is in hell? Well if Eddie was in hell Vince would know because he's the one who would have to let him in and I guarnateee that's not where Eddie is! Classy guys..real FN classy! On a positive note isn't great to see Stacy dance? She's is so so talented and now she gets to showcase what she was always the greatest at...dancing...she's gonna win the whole thing and please, please everyone vote for her, she has worked so hard for this and as you can see. she deserves it! She looks like a real pro out there and I'd love to see here go on to better things and on that note, I see how there was no mention of her PERFECT scores on Raw they were to busy showing some girl I have never seen before in a superbowl comercial...oh that's right it's the girl who is doing playboy not the most talented girl they have who is on one of the most popular shows and kicking ass at it too!! Why would you wanna showcase Stacy?{sarcasm}Maybe because she has stood by her morales and turned playboy down several times!! Gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that her contract is up soon and I'm sure they offered her a hell of a deal{sarcasm} I'd say right about now the wwe needs Stacy more than she needs them. I always said she didn't belong in this business and she was meant to do better and bigger things and by the looks of it she is well on her way! Don't forget to vote for her guys and go get em Keibs!!! You deserve it! I just got back from Italy and had a blast! It was a short trip, I had 2 matches. My first was with Mark Jindrak{jobber} no I'm just kiddin, Mark is a hell of an athlete and a funny guy, he just never realy got a chance to showcase that in wwe. Thanks for doin the J O B Mark...lol. My 2nd match was with Matt Morgan. We had a pretty good match especially considering the fact Matt has only been working for 2 years. Is it just me or do they just bring up guys who aren't ready yet and give them about 1 week to get over and if you don't, back to OVW. Matt with a little more experience will be very good but hey they did give him a great gimmick, let's take this physically impresssive athlete and make him...stutter..now that's money. not! I want to thank everyone at NWE in Italy, you guys treat me like royalty and I want to thank you all for all your kindness..this company is no joke, it's not an Indy fed it's the real deal! Very very professional! Thankyou guys for making me love wrestling again and remember why I got into in the first place beacuse it was fun and thanks for not making me wear a suit and paying for my food and hotel..lol..Thanks Kish, Roberto, Fabrizio, Puka and my buddy Stene. anyways that's all for now..take care and guys thanyou for all your positve comments, you guys make my day even the negative comments make laugh as well...that's all for now
Andrew

reading the smackdown and raw weekly thread here on freeones has really opened my eyes to the backstage stuff that goes on with the wwe, ive read on several occasions about former superstars ripping the company. i have to agree with test here, using eddie guerrero's death as a storyline is simply sad, i'd much rather see more of the juniors division then hear about eddie guerrero's death anymore.
