Absolutely. About a week after 9/11, I went down to the Marine recruiting office in town to enlist. But, ultimately, I was rejected on medical grounds (this was before I was a CD/TV, of course.) But if there were some kind of general mobilization/call-up of troops for war, I would enlist with whatever branch would take me. Proudly.

I agree with the sentiment, but I love my country and if called upon to fight I would answer. It's sad that love and understanding alone aren't enought to resolve conflict.

in a word: confusing, i was certain i was in some kind of secret government facility, that i was talking to god, and that i could open the cell door with my mind among other things...turns out none of those things

Anyways, lets say that your country is attacked by a country of approximately equal power.
Do you consider your country worth defending? Would you go to war and risk it all for your country?

I was in & out of the navy.
A couple of my buddies came home from Nam in pieces and/or in a box.
I was an HM3, a corpsman so, I thought I could help the guys somehow so I re-upped.

It's still too fucking hard to talk much about butt, it's no longer fighting for your country. It's for each other.
I would never ever want to go back to those days so I can't really give an answer.
