Why do people eat animals?

the irony is meat may become the safer food to eat. notice peanuts are taken away by health food fanatice then gluten and leafy greens tend to get e.coli alot. since most meat is eaten cooked it`s safer than vegetables.

I haven't had red meat in 20 years and pork in 5 years. I am in the process of becoming a total veggie, even vegan. Most of what I eat is vegan anyways. It's one of the healthiest ways to eat, if done properly.

Thanks for posting that video but I wont watch it. :crying: I have seen the horrors animals are put through which is why I have chosen a cruelty free diet.

The truth is, there is nothing that we humans consume for nutrition...nothing...that was not once alive. Plants are just as much a wonder of life on this planet as animals are. In fact, without plants to produce oxygen, we all die.

So I personally don't buy into the argument that killing plants for food is morally superior than killing animals.

But people are free to think whatever they want.

My 2 main faults w/meat farming: environmental impact & the extremely inefficient use of resources/energy.

Posting horrible videos doesn't prove your point. The people that are most upset by these videos are the hog farmers themselves. It is a disgrace to their profession, and hurts their business because people think that is how all farms work.

Lest we forget, porn is not free of cruelty and exploitation.

So c'mon OP, justify yourself: How is it acceptable to use porn... for FREE, so that you're exploiting both the star and the industry, yet not to eat meat?

:goodpost: While it makes me sad to think animals are being abused in order to provide us with food, I'm not giving up my steak, ham and bacon. Humans have been butchering animals (and let's face it, there's no gentle way to do it) without regard to their feelings since the caveman days.

Caveman #1 (rubs tummy): Me hungry.
Caveman #2 (chomping blissfully on a woolly mammoth burger): Want bite?

I think until you clear your freezer of the rat carcasses you can't really call yourself a vegan. But I can appreciate your point.
