Who Loathes the Other More: Brits or Americans?

And when I ask, I mean in a competitive sort of way and regarding culture. I happen to think - and believe, with the state of the WC now - that the Brits (even the Europeans as a whole) hate Americans. :D In all fun of course (I think).

You have to wonder...

The state of the World Cup now? Have I missed something?

I don't hate Americans. Just a certain type of American...

good answer sparrow.
glad you feel that way.
not all of us are assholes, too many yes, not all.
Me , I like the brits, I want to visit some day, check out the churches and castles ruined or not and other beautiful and historical places.

Yup. Sparrow got this right.

Do I hate Americans? no. A certain type? Yup.

I hate Americans who refuse to have a male three way with at least one Brit. And vice versa.

amirite?

That's a pretty bomb signature dream sparrow and matching 3 dragon symbol thing? I forgot what that meant I remember seeing something on BBC about the 3 dragon symbol if I'm thinking of the right thing.

What's wrong with English people? If English people don't like you or Americans don't like you doesn't mean I have to hate all of them. I don't even really care about the dumb brits that just hate without knowing anyone. It's like I hate you cause your government is dumb as hell, but w/e let them hate. Most people don't hate that way unless they are living in a shed...

England and USA both in?

Top Gear is the best show in the world. Reason I can't hate England plus I'm turning English from watching that show for like 8 hours a day sometimes on Youtube and Re-runs. I'll say English things and my friends will all stop and look at me "what did you just say?". WHAT I'M ENGLISH NOW?! *Cries*

The avatar is the three lions. It's the official Coat of Arms of England and also refers to their football team as well. This is common knowledge, right?

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark here, but I'm guessing that the avatar and signature are both in reference to the English national team's participation in the World Cup. That would explain the relation between the two. Just spitballin' here...

I'm going to be nice to the U.S. here--we have no fucking culture compared to England. Period. Case closed.

I don't think either nation loathes the other one. I really do think there is mutual respect across most areas. Even though they were our Imperial masters at one point, each nation has evolved on a completely different track economically, culturally, in sports...

Oh, yes. We're like cousins who have that competition going on non stop. That's why when we outshine them at their beloved sport they want to give us a thorough talking to. :1orglaugh Absolute respect though. That's why they are still in Afghanistan with us and Iraq too.

I have no problem with America at all. Without them, i would lose pretty much all my favorite TV shows, websites, music, movies and sports.

I was just wondering. I don't really watch soccer and I didn't know that was related that much to their country beside soccer. I only kind of knew what it was because I watch BBC sometimes before the show Top Gear is on and forget to change it after the show is over.

I'm kind of rooting for North Korea, but I don't know if they are in it still. They are in the death division with brazil and two other tough teams. I think that's their division.

Yea, it's kind of cool to watch English shows due to the weird sense of humour especially on Top Gear. I loved when they came to America and capt slow I think it was made a joke and it got quiet then the other older dude (I can't believe I forgot his name) said "bruce willis is coming".

Just think. If you really do join the military, in a few years you could be killing their wives and families. What an honour!

North Korea is out. Would've been a tasty little matchup if North and South Korea met :1orglaugh North Korea has recently "recommitted" to the sport. I think they hadn't made a World Cup since the 40s?

If you like speedy, hard-working teams that don't resort to fouling and diving all over the field--give Japan a shot  If Japan beat the Danes tomorrow they are in.

If you want to watch a lot of intricate passing and really a lot of skillful players--give The Netherlands a shot.

I will give it to them though. They did make a pretty nice site for the FIFA - World Cup. I hope I didn't say that wrong. Is it FIFA?

North Korea won it all in the 60s I think. Only time they've won it then they left the sport and won't let the people watch it. I heard they even hired fake fans for the world cup because they didn't want anyone leaving their country, but the sad part is the top 5% of the country like political figures and such could watch it. What a joke of a government.

The problem is why it's hard to see a culture in America is because everyone is very different. It's a melting pot.

Wha..and miss all the reality tv, fast food and SUVs?

And don't forget all the backwoods pig fuckers.

Gotta give it to Northern Europe. They don't have too many hick shits there, at least I think.

I believe they dumped all their white trash indentured servants on us centuries ago if I remember from a history course I took on early America. Smart move. :1orglaugh
