UK General Election Thread!

So the election has a date!

You can choose from either:

1: The shiny faced everyday average guy?

2: Gordon Brown?

(It's just too easy to ridicule him, it would be like running over a deer, then getting out and hitting it with a crook-lock to cause it some more pain while it slowly dies)

3: Or the other one?

4: Or the other other one?

5: Or one of the rest of the other ones?

Welcome board members to what is undoubtably going to be the most boring thread in the history of the board.

No disrespect to the OP, but british politics is on the same par with painting your bedroom, then sitting down to watch it dry, with the most exciting part being an itch in your butt that needs standing up to take care of.

More boring than discussing the President of the US dodging a question about his favorite baseball players? :dunno:

That did make me smile, however I think you are mistaken in comparing it with painting my bedroom. Painting my bedroom was extremely exciting, by gathering vaious birds, from pidgeons to parrots, seagulls, to kestrells, feeding them baking soda, I numbered the birds then organised a kind of bingo system, it was suprisingly entertaining and effective too. So it is what you make of it, and not always what you expect it to be!

All a bunch of crooked thieving bastards who don`t give a shit about the man in the street. They are only in it for what they can get for themselves.

I wont vote for any of them because none of them could manage
a piss-up in a brewery :hatsoff:

Actually health and safety regs, and no win no fee lawfirms have made organising a piss up in brewery a lot more difficult than it used to be,

I don’t think British politics is boring. I believe most British “politicians” are boring. There is a difference. However, if politicians made politics interesting most adults would vote which would increase the possibility that they would loose their jobs. The last thing they want is more people to vote. They just want a larger percentage of the minority that can be bothered to vote in an election.

Think about it. The less folks that vote the easier it is for politicians to get away with all the :bs: Then if you challenge them they will ask, did you vote?

I think you should. :2 cents:

It makes me so annoyed really, to think that 18 million people will be stupid enough to vote Labour and Conservative again. :dunno: :wave2:

1: The shiny faced everyday average guy?
That's not exactly true; isn't he supposed to be really posh? By definition, not average?

3: Or the other one?
This one - I've decided I'm not voting for major parties anymore. And if I can vote in the States and Kingdom, that'll be at least two votes for the little guys!

Now, this I absolutely disagree on. Coming from the States, British politics is like watching a battle royale. The manner in which they address each other over here would be mind-boggling in the States. I mean, hell, I was watching a Prime Minister's Questions where Brown was animatedly yelling at Cameron (well, kinda; they do this passive-aggressive "Let's all talk to the Speaker rather than to each other" thing), pointing and such. American politicians? They try to one-up polite each other. Imagine Obama yelling at McCain on how his party and platform would ruin the country. As in, raised voice. Yelling.

I'd vote for Caroline Flint if she was in the running! The most decent politician Sir Menzies Campbell would have made a great prime minister but the Lib Dems ousted him as their leader a while ago.
