Conspiracy...
January 23, 2010 (Lance Storm)

When I said I was going to start watching Impact again in the New Year, you must have figured that my TNA rants couldn’t be far behind and sure enough it only took a couple weeks. This rant will not be as venomous as past rants because while there were a lot of things on this week’s edition of Impact that I thought were terrible, they weren’t outright blatantly wrong or as rage educing as the crap that drove me to give up on Impact all together. There was some good along with the bad this week on Impact, so I will try to look at the show as a whole and not get completely out of control with an Anti-TNA rant, but on the whole I really disliked this show.

We got 5 matches on the show totaling only 17:30 (approx) minutes of action. Not a good sign for what they are pushing as a WRESTLING show. That doesn’t even take into account that one of those matches featured the Nasty Boys getting a win. No Beer Money, no MCMG, no Desmond Wolf, and no Chris Daniels wrestling on the show, instead we get the Nasty Boys, in 2010. So instead of the great wrestling matches the aforementioned names would produce we got maybe 8 or 10 segments about who does and doesn’t work for the company or who does or doesn’t run the show.

I have no idea what is going on. To my understanding Jeff Jarrett founded TNA and is a share holder. Mick Foley bought into the company and is a very significant share holder. Dixie Carter also some how runs and owns TNA, so I guess she is the majority owner (This despite the fact that not that long ago the story was that JJ and Foley were sole owners). Dixie then “restructured” the company and “partnered” with Hogan and Bischoff enabling them to run the company and somehow did all of this without the permission of either of the other two major share holders. In addition to that, this “restructuring” of the company has somehow eliminated Foley and JJ’s investment and ownership of the company and they are now just guys on the roster. I don’t even want try to understand the logic behind Dixie Carter (Hogan’s “partner”) hiring Hogan’s arch nemesis Ric Flair after he picked her up one night and slept with her.

If that isn’t confusing enough, on this episode of Impact, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman were fired (for lack of a better word) despite supposedly never being employed by TNA, even though they were advertised, booked on, or wrestled on the last PPV. Mick Foley was also fired, Kurt Angle quit, and Bobby Lashley who was trying to quit but couldn’t, because he had a contract, asked to stay and they told him they would think about it and get back to him. WTF? That’s 5 people on 1 show doing a “questionable employment” angle.

And then for the Finale we got the Montreal finish. Are you F’N kidding me? The most over done, bullshit finish in wrestling and we not only got it again, we got an exact carbon copy of it; all we needed was for Kurt to draw WWE in the air at the finish. This finish is so old and so stale it doesn’t draw heat it draws groans of disappointment. My first reaction to this (after my groan of disappointment) was: “Hey that reminds me, WWE is finally doing the conclusion to this 12 year old angle on RAW, I’ll have to be sure to watch that show on Monday!” On top of all that there were a ton of plot holes in this angle.

1) If Hebner was going to “Montreal” Kurt and screw him, why didn’t he do it when AJ had him in the Figure 4 Leg Lock earlier in the match?

There is a group on twitter, called JB's Army, which is supporting Borash and protesting his removal from TNA TV.

Could Ultimate Warrior & Randy Savage Be Joining TNA?

During a recent interview with UGO.com, Hulk Hogan commented on the possibility of Ultimate Warrior and Randy "Macho Man" Savage joining TNA Wrestling.

"The Warrior is not "alive" anymore," Hogan told UGO.com. "I did a deposition about six months ago where Vince McMahon put out a tape called The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior. And I did a deposition. I sat in a room across from him. No other wrestler would testify. He thought I was actually going to help him, but when I told the truth...I seriously doubt he and I would ever work together again. I did tell the truth at the deposition. He's the worst. He's horrible. There's nobody worse than him in the ring. So hopefully I'll never have to see him again in the ring."

Hogan told the truth and the Ultimate Warrior is the worse wrestler Hogan has ever seen? :1orglaugh What!?

As far as Savage is concerned, despite their past differences, Hogan would love to have him on board with TNA. He feels if Savage dyed his gray beard and got back into shape, he would be good enough to return to the ring.

"I'd LOVE to see the Macho Man," Hogan said. "Dye that old gray Santa Claus beard he's got. Get back in shape. And teach these young guys how to do it because I could sure use his help. He's got a great mind for the business."

Hogan also comments on the removal of the six-sided ring (calling it "a playpen"), when exactly he should have quit wrestling, back shaving tips, and more. You can read the interview in its entirety at http://www.ugo.com/tv/hulk-hogan-interview

Diamond Dallas Page: I've Talked With TNA Wrestling

During an interview with SLAM! Wrestling, Diamond Dallas Page said he's talked to Eric Bischoff about possibly joining TNA down the line for a short-term program and perhaps even wrestling. The former WCW World Heavyweight says he has about ten more matches left in the tank.

"Eventually I am sure at some point in time when they need a guest referee I may consider it. I want to do the Piper thing, he shows up for two months and then is gone for nine. That is the only kind of thing I want to do, and I am in the shape to still do it," Page said. "I probably have ten really good matches left in me, and I am not gonna throw them away or just put them out there. If they are willing to pay me to come back, and it behooves me, maybe."

Page briefly worked for the promotion five years ago, highlighted by a main event encounter against Jeff Jarrett at the March 2005 pay-per-view, Destination X. He said he's in good physical shape and noted that he dropped some weight from his wrestling days thanks to his Yoga For Regular Guys program.

"I am in better shape now than I was when I was in the ring. I am not as big, I have lost about 25 pounds because I don't need to carry that weight," Page said. "I am at 230 right now, but I am solid and lean and strong as f***. I can bend over and put my head between my legs, stick my foot over my head and stand one leg. Most guys can't walk around on two legs!"

That's right, push the young talent back even further.

What happened to Dixie Carter saying if anyone isn't onboard with the young talent push they can leave?

I guess that was a lie.

DDP is on that stupid new reality show with that pig Carnie Wilson.

I wouldn't mind some of these guys as managers.

All they are doing now is pushing the young talent down.

It will be better when most of these guys can't do much more than sit and drool.
That's the only way to get Hogan away from a camera.

Hogan is as bad as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

HOLY FUCK! GET THE GANG BACK TOGETHER WERE GOING BACK TO WCW!!!!
i didnt usually watch TNA i caught it here and there now i may NEVER watch ever...until Vince buys TNA and brings all those guys in to WWE!

Breaking News: Impact Permanently Moving to Monday Nights
by Nick Paglino
Jan 27, 2010

We reported earlier today that TNA has booked another Impact broadcast to go head-to-head with Raw on March 1st. The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that TNA has decided to permanently air Impact on Monday nights as they feel the time is right to go head-to-head with WWE. As of now, the plan is to air a live Impact every other Monday night, and tape an Impact broadcast on Tuesday nights which will air on the Monday nights that the show does not air live.

It is unclear at this time whether or not Impact will retain or change its current 9-11pm time slot. The move to Monday nights is expected to take place in March, following the head-to-head broadcast that TNA has announced for 3/1.
