I apologise if this was already mention in one of the other 9/11 mosque related threads, picking through all those posts would have been quite a tideous task.

Have you even checked to see how many freakin mosques there already are in New YorK (pretty damn close to GZ already). You only worry now because THIS one made the headlines...so seriously take a look at this map, and tell me why you care so much about this new mosque and none of the other Islamic Centers or mosques that already exist...PLEASE explain ...

inside, down the street, 2 blocks away...it really doesn't matter...thats the whole point I was trying to make. Its just this one was receiving the publicity...ITS FREAKING NEW YORK, the city that is prided upon the cultural diversity, and people were reacting as if a mosque near ground zero was so wrong and unheard of...to the general public it was, but once examined people should realize that a mosque near this location is NOT a new trend...

There's also a prayer room used by Muslims less than 100 feet away from where the plane hit the Pentagon. Now, one would think the inclusion of a religious room inside of a government building would be the more pressing issue here; but in this case it just goes to show the selective memory used by some in order to prove a point.

It is an election year after all...

Having a inaccurate title like the 'Ground-Zero Mosque' doesn't help either, this is a phrase coined by the media and those against the mosque to make you think that a huge victory mosque will appear where the WTC once stood as a symbol of Islamic victory over Christianity, call it the Ground Zero Mosque if it will actually be built on the land known as Ground Zero, otherwise it's a New York mosque (Officially Park51). Actually even calling it a mosque is inaccurate as it will be a cultural center with Muslim, Christian and Jewish prayer rooms, mosques DON'T have these. :2 cents:

Have a read of this if you care, it doesn't bother me whether it gets built or not but it's ridiculous to call it the 'Ground Zero Mosque' which is insulting to everyone including those who lost their lives AT Ground Zero along with their families

Again technically it isn't a mosque. It's a cultural center that will house prayer rooms for a number of different religions.
