Now, now, European friends...no need to slam the Confederations Cup. All the teams that played in it this year put out strong sides and have played to win it. It is a great World Cup preparation. Hell, the U.S. hasn't even qualified *officially* for the 2010WC yet.
Spain looked a bit panicky right before the 2nd U.S. goal (around the 70th minute). Though they had the possession pretty much the entire game, they started wild firing from long distance around the 75th minute to the end. They seemed to surrender any corner kick set plays too. They decided for quick starts rather than big, lofty corner kicks. I bet they would like to have changed that tactic, post-match.
Even if we lose in the Finals on Sunday...this is REDEMPTION for shit play against Italy and Brazil earlier.
The discrepancy in Professional Payroll on the field, between Spain and the U.S. is probably awesome and might make this the greatest upset (by dollars) ever?
Total Spain payroll on the field -- $180 million (U.S.)????
Total U.S. payroll on the field -- $3 million (U.S.) ????
