I haven't watched all of the series so far but what I have caught has been brilliant. Michael Chiklis as Mackey is brilliant.

Up there with some of the best Television shows I've seen in the last few years.

It is #1 on my Tivo list (followed closely by 24). The first season and the money train seasons have been my favorites - although this season is getting better with each episode.

FX has had some of the better original programming in the last few years.

i watched all of seson 4 in two nights! i was so hooked on finding out what happens next! the acting is brialliant, the writing is outstanding, this show just rocks! hard to pick a favorite season, though. they are all so good.
Fx has had some pretty good shows, and i am looking forward to their upcoming programs!

I love this show. It is the grittiest, and most realistic show ever to hit TV I think. I love the casting too. They don't do the typical casting of pretty people thing. The people on it are real, and sometimes ugly as hell. No crack whores that look like former Miss Americas. I only really started watching it full time last season, I need to catch up with the others, especially since this season is so connected to the season where Vick shot that cop infiltrating the Strike Team. I thought Glenn Close was incredible last season. Liked her a lot better then Forrest Whitaker this season so far, but I've always thought he was over rated. Anthony Anderson (Antione Mitchel) was amazing last season too. And this season, When Vic Confronted that Confidential Informant that sold him out, that was some of the best television acting I've ever seen. I hope it stays on the air for a long time.

"From now on, when I say suck my dick, you say, 'you want me to lick yo' balls too daddy?'"

except Chiklis I don't know know the actors' real names but I always felt that David Aceveda was the poorest of the actors casted, though he's not that bad.
And when you mention ugly people, I assume you mean Claudette?

i picked up on this show, before the second season and i love it. I think fx has some of the best shows on television. this season is turning out to be a great season, may also be the last season, that would be too bad. over there was a great show on fx,but was cancelled after one season due to ratings.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
I strongly believe it's one of the best shows out there. It shows a large spectrum of emotion and street life that you can't find in other so-called "cop shows." I want Cavanaugh to get taken down hard.

i totally agree about Cavanaugh! i think Whitaker does a great job with this role so far. all the characters really drive some reaction out of me, whether good (Mackey and Shane) or bad (Claudette and Cavanaugh). I think this is a sign of both great acting and writing! they keep referring to this season as the beginning of the end. I hope its one long ending, because this is the only show i make sure to watch each week!

anybody have favorite moments or quotes?
I like the antoine mitchel line, that was nice!
i can't think of lines, but moments, there are quite a few. i was going to list them, but i don't want to ruin the storyline for those not caught up.
Cletus Van Damn!!!

In a sea of reality show nonsense and insider celebrity garbage, it's nice to see that producers are making quality shows like The Shield and 24.
It's been a long time since I found a couple of shows to set a weekly schedule to that were on channels not named HBO or Showtime.

I think some of the most memorable scenes was when Mackey pushed that guys face onto the stove. Or the final shot of season 2, standing in front of the table of money from the money train gig.

Yeah, I thought Mackey was going to shoot him.

The Shield is my #1 show with 24 as my second fav.
I heard in another thread here that this may be the last season. If it is how many of u think mackey will be shot or go to prison. Or is there still guys who think he will get away undamaged

I don't know if he'll die or go to jail but he sure as hell won't walk out undamaged, I'm sure the writers have a shocking surprise for us.

i agree. i don't think he will walk away like nothing happened, but getting shot or prison doesn't seem very likely to me. for one, mackey is too smart and won't stop fighting. The Russian sting set-up, that was awesome! i thought it was too unlikely they were going down that easily, and the twist there wasn't too shocking, but it still caught me by surprise!
right now, Corin seems to be the strongest threat to Mackey and the team. I think something happens to her before something happens to the strike team!
How's that for a twist!

THIS SHOW KICKS SOME MAJOR ASS!!!
