THE SHIELD on FX

I was watching FX the other night, and there was a commercial for The Shield. It was talking about a "season finale" and not a "series finale" so hopefully this is an indication that the show will continue after this season.

That said, I think that CCH Pounder. The woman who plays Claudette gave one hell of a performance in the last episode with that serial killer. She's not my favorite charcter, but I do think she makes the show richer because as pancha said she drives a reaction from the viewer. Whether it's a positive or negative reaction doesn't matter, the fact that the raction is there is what's significant.

Thanks Big P13, and i agree with you, she gave a great performance. She gave you the impression that she was completely drained, both emotionally and physically! I am starting to like Dutch's character as the show goes on. He was more of a comic relief before, but there are so many intricacies about his character that are appealing! I think that he is going to feel responsible for what happened to Claudette. this season just keeps getting better!

After last night's episode, they said that there is only one more episode before the season finale. First, wasn't this an incredibly short season? And second does anyone else think that if there are only two episodes left that there is way too much up in the air at the moment to sew it all up neatly in that short period of time? I just hope they aren't rushing the story telling of such a great show.

I agree. I thought i heard wrong when they said only one show left before the season finale. what was it, about 4-5 shows so far?
There are so many things we don't kow enough about, there has to be plenty more to come!
At least i hope so!

The show is going off for a few months so that the new show Thief can get a run in The Shields timeslot after Thiefs run The Shield will be back with like 11 or 12 more episodes

Best show I have seen in a very long time. Season finale next Tuesday. It will be 90 minutes long. Is Forrest Whittaker going to rape Mackey's ex wife now that he found out about Vic doing his ex? Forrest has that wierd and evil grin about him that just seems so evil. I remember watching Chiklis when he was The Commish, and I have been watching The Shield from the start. Oh yeah, how about that new girl they got on the show. She is a little hottie.

There are so many loose ends to tie up with all the different events going on in the show. . . its impossible to tell what's going to happen in the season finale! This season has been GREAT! Can't wait until Tuesday!

Oh my fucking God the season finale was awesome and very surprising. Im tryin to hold back what I just finished seeing, but I know some of you guys are in different timezones and havent seen it yet. You will be shocked.

TOTALLY FUCKING AWESOME!!! Couldn't agree with you more!

The season was so short though! I'm already going into withdrawl. . . must . . . have . . . season. . . 6. . . . :helpme:

Wow! I can't believe how good, and how twisted this show is!

Spoilers

I knew as soon as Shane parked his car that he was going to kill Lem, but I didn't see the grenade coming. That was a lot smarter than I gave him credit for being. That grenade will now tie Lem's death to the Armenian guy with the grenades and leaves the Strike Team clean. However, now He's going to have that hanging over his head all next season and you know it's going to come out sooner or later. I can't wait to see how Vic is going to react. You know he'll be pissed, if not for the simple fact that Shane killed him, then because all the running around they were doing to keep Lem away from the one-niners in prison was to keep him alive, only to have him killed at Shane's hand instead.

I also wonder if this means that Forrest Whitaker will be back next season. I had assumed that he was only going to be in for one season like Glen Close was, but now it seems like he'll be around for a while.

SPOILER ALERT

I thought Shane was going to do it as well. When he knelt down by the car, My first thought was about the grenades, but it still shocked the hell out of me!

I was thinking that Shane was going to kill Lem. I was looking for a gun in the bag with the sandwich in it. I thought he would have his hand on a gun in the bag and shoot him when he was handing him the bag. I never saw the grenade coming. What an excellent show. It sure does look like FW will be around next season and I am glad for that. He is a damn good actor and that smile of his just sends an evil chill down my spine.

I was expecting a gun in the sandwich bag as well. Like I said, the grenade was a much smarter move than I gave his character credit for. It completed removes any suspicion from him...at least 'till his conscience makes him come clean about it.

I don't think the suspicions are gone. Mackey is too smart and will probably start to question what happened. It also adds to the suspicions without any proof that already surround the Strike Team. . . THEY busted to Salvadorans earlier and confiscated the grenades. . . Kavanaugh's sure to look into that!

on a side note, I was so caught up with what happened to Lem that I forgot about Dutch's new found womanizing approach after his free lesson in PIMPology:rofl:
Not only was this bit hilarious, it lends to the ever-evolving complexities in Dutch's character. This guy started off as the comic relief in an otherwise tense drama, and his character continues to go in directions that are fascinating!
I've said it before. . . I LOVE THIS SHOW:thumbsup:

Well, they busted the El Salvadorans, but they said that the leader of this particular operation still eluded them. And You're right about Vic's suspiscions. I did see him look over at Shane as soon as he saw Lem dead in the car, and Shane was unable to meet his gaze.

Vic started gazing at him when they were all waiting for Lem off the freeway. At first I thought that maybe it was their plan all along to kill Lem, but I don't think that's the case. I do think that their lawyer is gonna suspect Vic was involved. This is gonna be very interesting! I wonder how they're going to play this story out?
