Too many threads about, too little polls.

This is the definite showdown.

Here's my 2 cents:

The Simpsons is too pc and family-friendly.

South Park is too political and know-it-all.

Family Guy is just my taste because it's about fun and not messages or intricate plots. But the last episodes have been crap too.

Futurama, King of the Hill and American Dad are all just lukewarm, no point in bringing them into this discussion imo. But if you really have to, there's an option for them too. And for any other.

And one for those of you who hate cartoons of any kind... Wait, why are you even this thread?

It's good to be the king...
Voted South Park, but I was/am partial to the odd episode(s) of Afro Samurai, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Samurai Jack & Sealab 2021 (work permitting)...

The Griffin family is hillarious. I ve seen the movie several times. but it does potray a typical American family in a humorous way.

I voted Family Guy (I loved the cannabis episode!), but The Simpsons is a very close second for me.

Family Guy for me. Although South Park has its moments.

The Simpsons are the gold standard.

Family Guy was good at the beginning, but somewhere around the movie Macfarlane started to think he was better then he actually is and now the show is absolute shit.

Futurama is great at its best, but when it is bad it is unwatchable.

King of the Hill was never that funny, but it is a good show.

South Park is always funny, and probably my second pick after the Simpsons.

Drawn Together is the funniest show I've seen in a long time.

G.I. Joe!! :D

For me it was a toss up between South Park and the Simpsons but I just went for the Simpsons, I think they're still funny and I like their Treehouse Horror Halloween specials. Plus they keep having some interesting guest stars. Michael Imperioli as Fat Tony's son, Kiefer Suterland and the Chloe girl as their characters from 24, Stephen Hawkins (or as Homer called him Larry Flynt) etc, etc,

I chose South Park, a couple years ago I would have said Family Guy, before it got stupid and hip for the younger audience, also back when they actually had a plot other than boom flashback boom flashback... etc. Also I put an honorable mention out for Futurama.

I totally agree with you about Family Guy,even though I haven't seen the movies. You are spot on about MacFarlane. It seems to me that his whole goal nowadays is to try to out do Southpark, and it just comes off as kinda lame.

I think Futurama is and was the most underrated cartoon on television.I've yet to see an episode that I didn't laugh out loud at.

King Of The Hill is the worst of them all,and it boggles my fucking mind as to how it's been on this long.

I used to love South Park when it first started coming on,but pretty much stopped watching after the movie, which I couldn't take for any more than 5 minutes. The last episode that I've seen was the one where they killed Chef. That was pretty funny,I'll admit.

I really wish they would bring back Samurai Jack and Invader Zim,which was incredibly underrated imo.

What makes me annoyed with MacFarlane's inflated ego is just that: He's trying to cause controversy, but its not working. What's the point in having characters say "fuck" if they are going to get bleeped? Does that make your show seem more adult? No, not when South Park gets away with dozens of uncensored swears every show and MacFarlane can't get one.

And it doesn't stop there. What really bugs me is that Fox will let him get away with some of this stuff. Remember, a few seasons back, during one of the episodes there was a clip that said the Simpsons was next, and Quagmire had sex with Marge and then killed the whole family? What is that? I don't know what is sadder about that: That MacFarlane thinks it's funny, or that Fox will let him make fun of their most famous show like that. Just because the show is popular doesn't mean you should let him do whatever he wants. That's why the show is so terrible now. There are hardly any good jokes anymore, and they are even reusing jokes (Like Lois falling down and holding her boob like Peter does with his knee. Yeah, that's funny...). At least the Simpsons is original every weekend. It might not always be funny (Though this season has been very good), but at least they are original.

And while I'm at it, what was with that contest Burger King held where the winner got to buy lunch for MacFarlane? The man gets paid millions, and yet he can't fork over ten dollars to buy his own Whopper. I guess maintaining a manatee tank costs a lot more then we all think it does.
