well Philbert there are clearly as many versions of the origins of the bible as there are versions of what is written in it. I have read otherwise so oh well. It doesn't really matter because it's as fiction as the Cat in the Hat.

I don't think art itself should be subsidized by tax money. I do believe that art is school should not be cut. art or music programs. but any other art should not in any way be paid for by the government.

Agreed. Art and music being taught in schools is money well spent. The problem is that it doesn't end there. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting alone is half a billion dollars. Federal funding started 45 years ago. 8 times they got every penny they were asking for and 21 times they got more than what they were asking. Add another 8 years that asshole Bush didn't even ask for a proposed budget and these folks are the favorite child of every politician.

1984: Ask $110 M got $137.5 M.
1985: Ask $85 M got $150.5 M.
1986: Ask $75 M got $$155.5 M.
1987: Ask $186 M got $200 M.

We are in an age where there are 10,000 stations at our fingertips. Does every local market have to throw Big Bird on at the same time? By that token most of the nation has access to more than one local public broadcasting channel. How many people really watch Masterpiece Theater? Or cello concerts. Or opera. You want that shit then click onto Ticketmaster or buy the blue-ray version. If this shit gets subsidized then so should Rolling Stones concerts. But no, the government takes my money and hands it over to every aspiring Dino De Laurentiis for their street walks. I'm not saying that CPB wasn't behind some great television. The Ken Burns series on baseball was magnificent. Baseball as a microcosm of the times and presented in a historical fashion. But for every Ken Burns series there are hundreds of hours of British shit nobody, NOBODY watches.

Religion is a fucking waste of time. Just think of all the oil saved from going to fucking church. The money in the basket to pay off pedofiles could go to cancer research. The time spent in church can be used for fucking, sucking and handjob/blowjobs. Thats how religion can be improved!

Read "god is imaginary" to get you thinking.

Was King of the Board for a Day
Each morning and night, Sigfried Gold drops to his knees on the beige carpeting of his bedroom, lowers his forehead to the floor and prays to God.

In a sense.

An atheist, Gold took up prayer out of desperation. Overweight by 110 pounds and depressed, the 45-year-old software designer saw himself drifting from his wife and young son. He joined a 12-step program for food addiction that required — as many 12-step programs do — a recognition of God and prayer.

Four years later, Gold is trim, far happier in his relationships and free of a lifelong ennui. He credits a rigorous prayer routine — morning, night and before each meal — to a very vivid goddess he created with a name, a detailed appearance and a key feature for an atheist: She doesn’t exist.

While Gold doesn’t believe there is some supernatural being out there attending to his prayers, he calls his creation “God” and describes himself as having had a “conversion” that can be characterized only as a “miracle.” His life has been mysteriously transformed, he says, by the power of asking.

A nice story I came across while reading the paper today. I hope that this may cut down some of the rhetoric that I see people spewing virulently.

I double-dog dare you....

You can bring every critter on the Ark into play, and it won't convince me that the FOs HQ wouldn't close it's doors, hire security guards with BIG guns, and wear disguises everywhere they went until they moved to an undisclosed country with no regulations on server content. Like maybe Abu Dhabi...?
And they would have to keep relocating until a few generations of Islamic fundamentalists had passed and the Fatwa had been forgotten. After banning me til I was dead, after which time I'd be allowed to posthumously post.

I can assume a high level of annoyance on their part.

I repeat my offer...I will gladly send it to either of you to post, just say the word and it's done!

Please provide a link to a Republican who complained about the AIDS program, then claimed it showed how good GWB was. You gotta have a link somewhere to where you come up with this convoluted line of facts.

Yeah MF link? Because I don't know of ONE that complained about it. And I know quite a few Republicans. Lawmakers and republican political operatives.

Bible Myths :All people share the same fable of creation, the flood, the magic garden with its tree of life and primal couple, the wise serpent, the heaven piercing tower, the didided waters, the chosen people, the virgin mother, the saviors, It has been said that both testaments of the bible, are only recent and corrupt derivations from a world wide cycle of archrtypal MYTHS!

Well for one Newt Gingrich said it many times. I specifically heard him say that we were "throwing good money after bad in Africa" in regards to famine and AIDs. As well there are MANY republicans who see AIDS as a deserving punishment for lifestyle choices. Pat Robertson being one of them. Do you realize how many republicans vote adamantly against ALL AIDS programs for medicine in the US? Our current and last 2 governors here in Florida voted against every single AIDS program that came along. So did Larry Craig which is hilarious considering he gets ass fucked by strangers in airport bathrooms. I also heard Sean Hannity complain that Bush threw money at "social causes all over the globe." Then when Hannity had Jesse Ventura on his show he not only said that America was in better shape at the end of Bush's presidency than it was before which is absolutely laughable, he also raved about Bush's humanitarian work in Africa.

You guys are ok with giving medicine to poor people in Africa but not in the US???????

Africa is the biggest cesspool for money ever. For decades every nation and charity has pumped untold trillions of dollars over there and what have been the results? The people are no better off today than when the first franc or dollar hit their shores. First you have to pay the government just to talk to them. In most of the countries they are going through civil wars so you have to pay off the freedom fighters too. Then you pay the military to escort you to the areas for distribution. You also have to deliver a certain amount of supplies for the government to distribute at their own free will. Usually these items are sold black market to fund their military.

We see the pictures of starving children and it tears our hearts out. But money isn't the problem in Africa. Corrupt governments and warlord nations are the problem. Then again, Sam Kinison had a solution.

Pat Robertson?

Jesse Ventura?

Who gives a fuck?

Shall we quote the extremists of the left that have support? There are "many" that agree with them too.

There are certain humanitarian causes that the United States always supports and always will GWB expanded on that when it came to his AIDS initiative.. Quite frankly, you have done nothing but rant and rave about Christians killing people and when it is pointed out that Christians supported efforts to curb the AIDS epidemic in Africa it drives you crazy. u mad? As my grandmother used to say " then go scratch your mad place"

Can you provide something of substance to back up your claim that Gingrich was against the AIDS initiative instead of you "heard it"?

Foreign aid is not the same thing as making wholesale changes to a healthcare system that is 1/6 of our economy.
