I love that you get the references Ari

Haha, most of them are easy.
When I lived somewhere in another state as a cam girl and my location was more private, every time someone asked me where I lived it'd go like this:
"Where do you live?"
Lothlorien
"Where is that?"
in the vales of the Anduin
"Oh. Ok."

Most people did not catch on.
I also encourage any Star Trek, Justice League, Arrested Development references.. :p
Okay, just about anything nerdy. I love it.

Maybe we should get our staircar, go up to the watchtower and travel to a new frontier and throw everyone elses votes into mount doom?

I'll prep the escape pods in case anything goes awry.

Yes, do that, and i'm sorry to say that I shot first :rubbel:

As long as you carry me when I get tired and don't let any slimy creatures steal my jewelry.

absolutely. i would carry you all the way from here to mount doom. i will even protect you from the giant spider and i will not do you disservice by cheating and looking up whatever the hell her name was.

You guys might not want to take the LoTR themed nerdy-ness too far or I'll get carried away.

Ya know, like about how much I love the movies but they ruined Faramir a bit because in the books he's even more of a noble badass who never beats Gollum and never tries to take the ring for himself. (Him and Eowyn also have an epic romance while they're healing in the infirmary because they are ridiculously alike in backstory & suffering unrequited love.) Or how the movies make the timeline of events seem seriously obscured, because Frodo is actually about 40 when Bilbo has his birthday and even after he gives Frodo the ring for safe keeping and Gandalf finds out it's potentially super dangerous.. it takes like a year or two for Frodo to actually leave. He sells that house in Bag End temporarily and moves to another location to prep for his travels. He has very greedy relatives so it's not till later that he gets ownership back and I believe, leaves it to Sam finally.
The farmer that chases them in Fellowship, actually helps save them in the books and is one of their cousins.

Even after they destroy the ring at the end, when they get home to Hobbiton, all the hobbits are still enslaved (hence the vision he has when he's with the forrest elves about seeing the town on fire, it actually happened after all.) And Frodo literally has to save all the hobbits even though he's already saved all of Middle Earth.

Wait, oops, I'll stop now. :p
I'm the worst person ever to watch the movies with. Even though I love them. (extended are way more decent)

OOH OOH WAIT the best part, the movies eliminate a major character named Tom Bombadil, who is awesome as fuck. I guarantee they were afraid macho men wouldn't go see the movies if a happy little singing man appeared in them. He was pretty much the care taker of the forests, and his woman literally descended from a higher plane to be with him (much like Aragorns mother did, giving up her ability to live forever, for love. Which is why his race lives sooo much longer than most humans.)

UGH I LOVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS. SOMEONE REMOVE ME FROM MY OWN THREAD. :p

also Merry and Pippin are all big and shit (for hobbits) because of the Ent drink

and you getting carried away is bad because...?

So, while were on the subject of movies what's your opinion on whether or not Han Solo shot first?

Then again maybe we should just leave that one alone. Don't want to get worked up now.

(By the way I still go with him shooting first in my mind.)

Joss Whedon is god.

Yes, he is a deity of the highest order. He brought me back to comics. Astonishing X-Men!

I not quite as huge a Joss Whedon fan as a lot of other people out there, but I do generally think he does pretty good work. He seems to understand characters and their interactions well, which might be why he can do the comic stuff as well as he does.

I've always been more impressed with strong women anyhow in fiction (and in real life). I don't get people wanting continual weak-willed or passive ones all the time.

I've also find them more attractive. Not that I look for beauty above everything else in a character as I try to purposely look at their other attributes also as they make for better stories. Often though great resolve, caring, and sheer charisma can be just as or more sexy and attractive than women that just take their clothes off for the sake of sexualization.

That might seem weird coming from somebody that views porn, but porn also isn't bad in that respect as it's not pretending to be something it's not like other media does. At least with it sexiness for it's own sake makes sense and is the whole point.

Obviously the continual desire by the masses for weak-willed women is still just to submit to this misogynistic power trip ideal where all men are beef cakes and all women are fertile little fawning trollops ;P It's why even in cartoons that have beefy masculine guys, even psychologists will tell you it's because it fits into the fantasized power fantasy of men.
Most movies/ media still try to fit the concept of man overcomes struggle, man works hard and earns the prize of bedding a virtuous lady turned slut for him only. :p

To the other bit you're mentioning, that's why I eventually just started calling a spade a spade and have 0 problem with people saying I do porn.
When I first turned 18 and started nude modeling, I was very much like "it's not porn!! It's art, it's art!!".
Now I see that the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, and that the word "porn" shouldn't hold a negative connotation. Obviously my limits also expanded as a result of that realization, because I stopped really giving a shit and try to emphasize doing whatever feels right to me at the time. ;)

joss-female-characters.jpg

I love how he made Buffy an ass kicker and Cordelia from cheerleader cutie in BTVS to demon killer in Angel. I do hope you can do a Whedon-themed cosplay series, Ari. Voted for Most Underrated today.
