Being a lifelong Yankee fan I didn't/don't care much who wins this series.
May the best one win.

But when they intentionally walked Puljos in the 10th I wanted the Cards to win it, at least that game.
It backfired in their face. Berkman came through..

Best World Series game I've seen in a long time

With such poor defense for the bulk of the game I hesitant to label it the greatest ever. One of the best extra innings game in postseason history.

I have to agree with Jag and Icecold that game was incredible and definately the best post season comeback ever and it was done by my very own cards. Not only did they come back they did it twice. You couldn't have scripted it better!

The only other person off the top of my head I have seen walked like that in an important situation was with Bonds. You know a person is a scary opponent when their opposition is willing to do that.

Whoo-Hoo the St.Louis Cardinals are your 2011 World Champions, a huge round of applause to these guys, nobody expected it and they beat all the odds. My series game balls go to Freese and Craig without them this wouldn't have been possible. Number 11 in '11! :nanner:artysml:

I know its after the fact, but i have to question Ron Washington's decision making on the pitching. Shouldve gone with Derek Holland to start game 7 instead of Matt Harrison. Matt Harrison was dreadful in game 3, Derek Holland saved the Rangers from a second straight 5 game crash in game 4.

Sure did, I said last night, they would have won it then and there if they were going to be the champs but alas they did not and the Cards did.

After hearing about what a great game they played last night, I HAD to watch tonight. And I haven't watched a baseball game in probably 7 or 8 years. As a kid I kind of liked the Cardinals, so that was a great result. 11th World Series championship for them - I didn't know they'd won it that many times.

Maybe our greatest championship ever. The better team won. The Rangers gave it their best but we prevailed in the end. What a great series played by two outstanding teams!

The Cards really earned this. They hit better, pitched better. It was a very entertaining series. Heck, I can't remember a better October for baseball.

Congrats to the Cards well earned.

I saw on SC this morning that the Cardinals won the WS. Meh. Most of the people I know didn't bother watching any of the games. I know I didn't. I'm still amazed that a team that was ten games out with a month or so to play won it all. Just goes to show that anything can happen once the postseason starts. The Cards peaked at the right time I guess.

As for me, I bought my 2014 World Series tickets today. Game 1 will be at Wrigley Field. Plan accordingly.
