Suppertime! Suppertime! Hey Fellas, What'd You Have For Supper Tonight?

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Grillin'! Chicken breast marinated in teriyaki sauce; nuking some Uncle Ben's wild rice; and re-heating leftover broccoli. Having the last glass of my Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, to wash it down with.
Now years ago, my wife used to buy a variety of marinade sauces, but she was all gung hoe on her George Foreman grill....and it turned out some good marinated chicken breasts. I find it very humiliating that I have thus far, failed miserably in the manly art of grilling.

That is not the point, what is, is if you have left over chicken, and or broccoli, make yourself a package of Ramen noodles, drain all the water, add some of the seasoning, and all the left over chicken, and broccoli, diced up nicely, taste, and continue to add Ramen seasoning as needed.

My wife says, "why don't you build a fire in your smoker and grill some burgers!?", and I just laugh and laugh.

Had a family dinner out at Korean BBQ. I have not gone out for Korean BBQ since before the pandemic and we used to go all the time. Great place in K-Town with some tasty BBQ. We waddled out and were all food-drunk.

I'll be having breakfast for dinner. Left-over pancake batter from over the weekend, with .. five strips of bacon. Probably wash it down with some Nestle Quik chocolate milk.

I love me some brinner. But I have to have eggs and home fries too.

I'll be having my thai leftovers from lunch the other day. Pad thai, medium spice, with shrimp; massaman curry, hot, with chicken - over white rice; and washing it down with a Kendall Jackson chardonnay. Mmmmm!!

On grocery shopping days I'll check out the "clearance" section with stuff that's expiring tonight or in the next couple of days, and see what I can create.

On the last trip I found bagged mixed greens for $2 and BBQ pulled pork for $3 and made a pretty filling BBQ pork salad.

I hit the Chinese restaurant in town, and had tangerine spicy chicken over white rice. With a glass of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio from Italy - very good!

I was telling my wife just a couple of days ago that I really miss going to the Chinese buffets. We haven't been to one in years, even before the pandemic because she's picky AF and says they're all, "dirty". Back in my single days there were several in my area that I went to on a regular basis, but she put a stop to all that because they weren't up to her standards. Sometimes I hate being married. :brick:

Xfire: uh, with COVID still prevalent, I dont' think ANY buffets are "open" these days.. As far as the wife - couldn't you still go to a Chinese restauarant, and SHE orders an entree, while YOU enjoy the buffet?

I used to work at the Dallas Night Club in Austin. A bunch of us big hosses would go in and clean out the Chinese Buffet that was in the same parking lot as our work. A lotta food for cheap for poor security slobs.

X, I also loved eating at Furr's Cafeteria. The one I used to go to is closed and was closed even before the pandemic. Is Furr's still around? I liked Furr's better than Golden Corral.

Home made spaghetti with home made sauce using Heritage tomatoes. Hamberger and Italian sausage. Garlic bread.
This reminds me of my late mother, God rest her soul. She would hit the garden, clear out the tomatoes and egg plants. Then over the course of the day make home made noodles for the sauce, and parm the egg plant. You make that sauce, or are you married to an Italian woman?
