Obviously you can't take a fucking joke! Lighten up.

Year of the Hawk my arse!? Name one fuckin player on the team (besides the 4 I mentioned in my post). I never fuckin badmouthed your favorite POS soccer team cuz I don't give a damn about the sport so why don't you shut the hell up about the NFL.

Gee, I wish I lived over in your 'ignorance free' continent... tool.

Oh it was a joke, whats your problem? You're saying the Seahawks will win the Superbowl, and I'm saying they won't.

Bad mouthed? When, just cos I said you wouldn't win the Superbowl? Seems like you are the one that needs to lighten up.

As for knowing about the Seahawks, shame for you that I know alot more about them than you think, like when Hasselbeck told the Packers they were gonna score.......and er, they didn't, interception, touchdown, ha ha.

You want some names, er ok, not that it proves anything, how about Alexander? I know you picked up Wistrom from the Rams and Bobby Taylor from the Eagirls, I know you lost Springs to the Redksins, and I know I was pleased when the team that I follow, the Giants picked up Norman Hand.

I also know that the Rams will win your division.

Of course you would have realised if you're brain was functioning that I like the NFL, but not everyone is gonna allow some muppets to spout crap about Football, and not be called on it.

Ban me? Cretin.

I've read alot of bullshit on this board in the past (most of it comes from one person), this however, has to go down as one of the most fucking ignorant ones ever made.

1. The guy that said Football is continuous play was taking about FOOTBALL, not the NFL.

2. You say a "turnover has the biggest impact than any other sport"?????????? (a) so what? (b) any game changing event in a match makes a big impact, only a damn fool would try to say one thing in one sport is any more or less important than something in another.

3. You're appraisal of Football was clearly the thoughts of someone who just doesn't understand the fucking game, THATS THE GAME, ITS A DIFFERENT GAME, IT HAS DIFFERENT LAWS/RULES......people who say things like you did, need to be put down, its like you don't even think before you type.

If you want to see someone pick the ball up and run with it, watch Rugby FFS. FOOTBALL IS PLAYED WITH THE FEET, GET IT? FOOT?

4. Technique? You think there is not much technique in football? Er..............yeah, if you are watching some spastics play the game. Any one on this board who knows even the slightest thing about Football, will just piss themselves at your ignorance of technique in Football....i'm not even gonna go through the millions of names that i could who have technique coming out of their arse, it would be wasted on you.

5. Like you I very much hope football never does well in America, cos there would be dumbasses like Mike Lupica and Bob Ryan pretending they know what they are talking about.

6. You don't need to make me love the NFL, cos I already like it. However, when I hear muppets like yourself talk about something you clearly have fuck all knowledge about it kind of pisses me off, and almost makes me want to say fuck off to any American i come across.

7. I can deny virtually all of what you said, and I just did.

8. You really destroy your own argument by spouting bullshit about a sport who know nothing about, it would have been better for you to simply point out the strengths of the NFL, instead of trying to run down something you don't like with a load of crap.

9. Someone stick a fork in him, cos he definetly is done now.

WHOA! Someone got butthurt. Most people actually dont give a shit when people say soccer is football and football is NFL. I didn't think you were on your rag, I'm sorry. You take things to serious, pal. Really, like that other guy said, lighten up, we're talkng about sports, not politics. I think FOOTBALL is better then SOCCER, you can call it footy or whatever, I don't mind. But i'm American, and I call it Football. Calm down.

Most soccer players are short in stature. And you have shown nothing to disprove that soccer players are at least more physically capable than football players. I don't know much about soccer, I am not a freak like you, but from what I have seen it is horrible. The first time I saw my 49ers play, at age 5, when my pops was watching the tv, I was hooked. I sure am glad I have NFL channel, or else I'm pretty sure I would die without football.

Football, soccer... Icehockey, hockey... who gives a fuck! Some people drive on the left side of the road and some drive on the right side, you can't change that.

Someone got butthurt. Most people actually dont give a shit when people say soccer is football and football is NFL. I didn't think you were on your rag, I'm sorry.

I don't give a shit about that 'much' either, it wasn't the fact you called football, soccer that pissed me off, it was your description of football and then your failure to equate the same to the NFL.

For example, you went through a whole variety of different "types" of passes you can make in the NFL, and other facets of the game.........but you can say exactly the same different types of facets for football, you either don't know them, or you chose not to state them to try and help your argument.

For the record, you can score from a free kick, you can do so left foot, right foot, instep, outside, you can score from a corner, on the volley, half volley, with a header, bicycle kick, you can make a slide tackle, a block tackle, you can dummy the ball, you can do a cruyff turn, you can even do an okocha, .........that was my point, and this is not to try and make you like football, just that you angered me by refusing to pay any respect to the fact its a different game, it involves different skills, and whether you like them or not is up to you, but please don't try to make out there are no skills or techniques in football, because it makes you sound ridiculos.

lighten up, we're talkng about sports, not politics.

Well Sports are very important to me, and I'm passionate about it, its what I love, its where I make my living, I love talking about sports, playing them, and getting paid off them.

I think FOOTBALL is better then SOCCER, you can call it footy or whatever, I don't mind. But i'm American, and I call it Football. Calm down.

Thats fine, I say again, this was never my argument that you should like Football more than the NFL. Also, just for the record most people don't call it "footy" either, that term tends to be used by posh kids who think its cool to like football, rather than actually have a genuine affiliation with the game.

I am calm, if my style comes off confrontational, don't take it personal, thats just the way i am.

Most soccer players are short in stature. And you have shown nothing to disprove that soccer players are at least more physically capable than football players.

I never said football players were physically better than NFL players, it would be silly if they were! Believe me if a player was 300 plus pounds like Gallery, he'd be no fucking good at football!:)

There is no real reason to argue about this part of the game, because both sports require different characteristics, in Football we don't need 300 pounders to block DE's, and in the NFL you don't need a player of Aimar or Ronaldinho's playmaking ability to open up defences.

I don't know much about soccer, I am not a freak like you

I'm not sure if you mean that as an insult, but if you have an insecurity about the fact that I have a vast knowledge of a number of sports...I guess thats just something you have to deal with.

Anyway, like I said, I love the NFL also, its fucking brilliant and I have followed it more and more since 1990 when I 1st started watching and the Giants became the team I followed. Infact if you want to talk NFL, I did actually make a point in my 1st post on this subject but none of you NFL fans have given a view on it.

I forgot to add, the 49ers will to use an annoying american term, "Suck" this season, and probably next season too!;) :)

No we don't, cause then it wouldn't be fun anymore to talk about it, arguments are fun and expecialy when things get a little heated. I'm in this argument just for the fun of argumenting cause actually I don't give a fuck about sports in general, the only thing that pisses me of is the narrow-minded view of the world most of you americans have ( it isn't meant as an insult, it's just an observation.) and also please pay atention to the most in front of you americans cause i'm not capable of explaining my point of view in english ( if you speak dutch, go right ahead) so don't get angry for my words, because you will not be able to change that opinion.

Killed it

women's beach volleyball...(there are actually some cute and good pros out there...lol)

Uhh, I said football ISN'T continuous play, soccer is, but what the thing that makes football challenging is that you can't jog or walk, you sprint full speed, and at times theres gonna be another guy who is running full speed right at you. Isn't, isn't, isn't. No need to state the obvious, I have read my post already, I was the one who wrote it. :D

I see you can score more then one way. Since you mention left/right foot, I can name some more ways to score in football.

You can pass the football with your left or right hand, you can run it in in your left or right hand, you can do a goal line leap, you can hurdle over defenders, you can run it in with the ball in your left/right hand, you can jump and reach out with your left/right hand, you can make the football touch the pylon with your left/right hand even if you are out of bounds, you can pass it while in the pocket, scrambling, you can slide and catch the ball, you can dive and catch the ball, if you the QB you can slide, you can also dive when you're running.... theres even more.

That's cool how you take sports seriously. Unless it's a job though, you need to get out of the house more!

I don't take it personal. I don't even know you. I was just surprised how you had an outburst.

Well, I expected some kind of response, since I said that football players are more physically and mentally capable than soccer players, and you said "I can deny everything you just said, and I just did." I don't know, maybe its just me.

You said something earlier that is a non-factor in determining which is a better sport, ala "FOOTBALL IS PLAYED WITH THE FEET, GET IT? FOOT?" Yeah, like the name matters. It is confusing how they call football football, when it should be more like hand-egg, but does that matter? No.

I admit my "knowledge" of sports is limited to basketball, football, and baseball, but to me sports is just trivia, its like knowing who made your computer parts. I am not secure whatsoever, if I were going to play in Sports Jeopardy or some shit, then I would be insecure. Oh, no, I will never be able to do with it. It gives me and my homies something fun to talk about but I don't know if I would brag about being a sports-nerd. I know a lot about football, I straight up think I would DIE if I knew nothing about football. Why don't you go on PTI?

I don't know every single facet and aspect of a sport that I haven't played since high school when I was forced to in PE, that I don't enjoy the least bit watching or playing. Maybe because it REALLY interests me. A LOT.

Ain't nothin wrong when a lil dispute gets heated. I don't know about b23k, but I learned how to control my emotions. I won't get all up in someone's shit, you can even insult Americans, the only thing I'll do is defend us.

Sport is a great interest of mine and a job, so I get the best of both worlds. It wasn't an "outburst", it was an expressed opinion on some comments that were very ill-informed, describe it as you wish, its irrelevant.

Yes, NFL players can bench press more than Footballers.....do you think footballers care? Its not a need for them to have that ability.
NFL players can't run at the pace Thierry Henry can AND in the process exercise incredible close control and mesmerise defences? Should they care? No, cos their game doesn't involve that type of action.

So whats your point? You don't have one IMO, you are comparing chalk with cheese.

No, I didn't once say Football was better because of this, that and the other......I told you that to say NFL is better than Football cos you can run the ball in the endzone with your hands, is an inane argument, Football has different rules, something you didn't seem to comprehend.

I will say this again, as you haven't paid attention yet, I DON'T CARE WHAT SPORT YOU THINK IS BETTER, my reply to you was your perception of what football is and the skills involved, cos you were clearly talking with a massive lack of information.

"Sports nerd", when I think of the word nerd, I immediately think of some ultra skinny, glass wearing, acne ridden, computer expert. I am in decent shape, don't wear glasses, have a clear complexion and know how to send emails.....so i wouldn't say i'm a nerd!:)

Sports fanatic, sports obsessive.....yeah definetly, and i'm glad i am otherwise i wouldn't be doing what i do.

PTI? Nah, i'd rather go on Around the Horn and join Woody Paige in taking the piss out of Jay Mariotti.........then i'd like to make my way over to sports reporters and kill that castrated fool mike lupica.

I'd rather express my emotions, than control them. I don't see a reason to 'insult americans', i am however continually frustrated by the attitude of some americans i come across, be it in person, or on the net......its exactly what Jaan referred to earlier. Anyway, thats an old chestnut, one that Americans probably don't agree with, but one that many outside the US do agree with.

Anyway, maybe we'll discuss some NFL when the season starts. :hatsoff:

The sport is more important to me GOOOOOOAL !!!

Again I never meant to insult americans. It is not their fault they have that view, we(non americans) would probably have the same view if we would have been born in america, but it's just very anoying. And all this shit about who'se players are the best is pointless because they all will get there arse kicked by formula-one drivers cause that is the hardest sport phisicaly.

Hockey GO LEAFS Then American Football a close second

My goodness, we do get emotional about our sports, now don't we?

OK, let's see if a Yank can really get everyone's undies in a bunch.

Baseball is by far the best sport to watch if you want to examine the intricacies of a game while watching and play manager. Each pitch is a legitimate "play" with a different defensive alignment and offensive goal associated, and the average baseball game has over 275 pitches (or "plays"), with time in between to absorb what's going on, and respond accordingly.

For many it's pace is too agrarian; too slow for the run and shoot/hit attention spans of the MTV generation. To paraphrase a writer from years back: "Slow minds think that baseball is a slow game." In short, it's the chess of ball games, and as such is the most popular game with literate people.

It also features the single most difficult thing in all of sports to do: hit a small round object moving at a swerving 90-100 mph (or 130+ kph) with another small rounded object, with the goal being to hit the ball "square" or solidly.

Proof: A hitter is considered to be a member of his sport's elite when he is successful at attaining his goal -- getting a safe hit -- just 30% of the time, or a .300 average. Shoot 30% from the field in a basketball game and you're not going to get much playing time. Complete only 30% of your passes in an American football game and you'll never get off of the bench. Move the ball forward with control in a soccer match only 1 out of every 3 times your team mates pass to you, and you won't be on the field very long. (My golfing friends will argue that the intricacies of hitting an itty bitty ball with a really long stick are comparably complex, but that ball isn't moving. The variables are mostly within the player's psyche, much like in bowling, where a controlled repetitive stroke wins the day.)

Baseball is also the only team sport where the primary action is a 1-on-1 confrontation: hitter-vs-pitcher. This is my favorite element of the game. Metaphorically, a baseball hitter literrally walks on the field with a "club" and does battle against the pitcher and 8 other guys for his team. It's 9 against 1, with no blockers or guys setting picks for him, so when he succeeds, he has beaten the odds for not only his own cheers -- like in tennis or golf -- but in the name of his compadres. This personal effort and sacrifice on behalf of the team builds the biggest "heros" in the minds of the fans.

As far as "football", "futball", or "soccer" is concerned, granted the athletes have to run constantly, so their stamina and general physical condition is without question better than the average baseball player's, and it's arguably the most popular sport in the world, but what's up with a ball oriented sport that only lets you use your feet and your head?

Finally, an endorsement for the best all around athletes: basketball players. You must have the stamena of a soccer player, coupled with grace, agility, full body control, and eye hand coordination, all while pushing a 6'10 inch, 225 lb plus body around without using this girth as a true weapon, like in American football.

But then, the only sport I'm any good at is tonsil hockey with my girlfriend, so what do I know?...
