Did U.S. foreign policy help contribute to the 9/11 attacks?

Of course American foreign policy caused it!

Of course American foreign policy had nothing to do with it!

The answer is much more complicated than any one simple answer. But if you really want to assign blame to people other than Bin Laden, Atta, etc blame it on Christopher Columbus and Charles Martel.

Martel stooped the Muslim takeover of Europe in 732 in what is now France. Blame Columbus because he new world allowed Europeans to become fat and rich from the trade with and conquering of the new world; thereby allowing Europeans to another place to trade than through the Muslim controlled middle east between Europe and Asia.
Muslim control has been slowly in decline ever since rendering once great empires to become impotent to affect a changing world. (Until the world became dependent on mid-east oil)

Point is: things are more complicated than a simple answer can provide.

Americans aren't the good guys. The fact that you feel the middle east hasn't suffered enough from US policies is evidence enough of that.

The Iraqis lost ~1 million civilians due to sanctions, ~1 million due to the 2003 Iraq war and about 4 million fled and became refugees. It takes a pretty disturbed mind to consider that 'not hardship'.

The Middle East has long been the cause of its own suffering -- despots who take advantage of and slaughter their own people then blame it on us. Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, the list goes on and on.

Sanctions? Oh you mean perhaps the Oil for Food Program, which was meant to bring food and medicine to the Iraqi people to allievate the suffering brought about by the UN sanctions. We, the West, applied those sanctions in the first place because Saddam Hussein refused to adhere to the cease-fire conditions he agreed to at the end of the first Gulf War. If he had simply kept his end of the bargain, there would've been no sanctions in the first place. Instead, Saddam took that Oil for Food money and instead bought military hardware and paid off MANY top level UN officials to keep diplomatic actions against Iraq in limbo. Even the son of then-Secretary-General Kofi Anan was on Saddam's payroll. FACT. These are all FACTS. Google it up, if you have the balls. If a million Arabs died (and the number was not even close to that), it's because Saddam didn't direct the aid to his people whom it was supposed to help. Check up on your history for Christ sake.

It's funny you have your tighty whiteys all in a bunch over the deaths of a "million" Muslims, but the idea of 6 million Jews being exterminated merely annoys you so much that you say you want to throw up. And you also say that the Holocaust was exaggerated to earn sympathy from the West. C'mon, you gotta be fucking kidding me! It is YOU with the disturbed mind. :wtf: :kettle:

You're a racist and you hate your own country. It's disgraceful and disrespectful to every single American who has ever put on a military uniform. How can you look at yourself in the mirror?

Please, Mod gods, close this effing thread...

looks like nothing positive came from this thread as I could expect it, so it gets closed.
