Ron Paul 2012

You do know that Obama is not a Socialist, right? That's just something that stupid people believe because they refuse to educate themselves on both what Socialism is, and what Obama's administration's policies are.

Sorry if you find that rude, but your comment was entirely unhelpful and uneducated.

:2 cents:
Your response is reckless and ridiculous!

Part 1 - Obama's Ties to Socialism, Marxism, and Communism

1. Obama's Father Wrote About Socialism - His father wrote a paper called "Problems With Our Socialism" that advocates 100% taxation of the rich, communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land. Source: Greg Ransom, PrestoPundit

2. Obama's Mother Was a "Communist Sympathizer" - " Friends describe her as a "fellow traveler", that is, a communist sympathizer, from her youth, according to a March 27, 2007, Chicago Tribune report" Source: Spengler, Asia Times "The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics - Barack Obama" Source: Tim Jones, Chicago Tribune

3. Obama's Parents Met in a Russian Class (Back then it was the Communist USSR) - "His mother, Stanley Ann Dunham (her father always wanted a son), was white and just 18 when they met in a Russian class" Source: Sharon Cohen, St Louis Times

4. Obama's Teen Mentor was Frank Marshall Davis (a known CPUSA member) - "...through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his poetry and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just Frank." 5. Obama's Brother Roy and Cousin Odinga are Marxists - "Barack Obama's older brother, Abongo "Roy" Obama. He is a Luo activist. militant Muslim and a Marxist." Source: Barbara Busby, 180people.com “The person who made me proudest of all,” Obama wrote, “was Roy Source: Bill Sammon, The Examiner "Odinga is a Marxist who reportedly has made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shariah courts throughout the country" Source: Invenstor's Business Daily

6. Obama Attended Socialist Conferences at Cooper Union - "He went to socialist conferences at Cooper Union and African cultural fairs in Brooklyn and started lecturing his relatives until they worried he'd become "one of those freaks you see on the streets around here." Source: H Kennedy, NY Daily News

7. Obama Was Hand Picked by Alice Palmer to Succeed Her in the Illinois State Senate - "Nine years before Palmer picked Obama to be her successor, she was the only African-American journalist to travel to the Soviet Union to attend the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, according to an article Palmer wrote in the CPUSA newspaper, People's Daily World, June 19, 1986." Obama's Run for the Illinois State Senate was Launched by a Fundraiser Organized at Bill Ayers' and Bernardine Dorhn's Chicago Home - Ayers and Dorhn are former terrorists from the Weather Underground who's SDS organization received financial contributions from the CPUSA. "Obama's run for the Illinois state Senate was launched by a fundraiser organized at Ayers' and Dorhn's Chicago home by Alice Palmer. Palmer had named Obama to succeed her in the state Senate in 1995, when she decided to run for a U.S. congressional seat." Source: Jim Corsi, WorldNetDaily based on Communism in Chicago and the Obama Connection (Cliff Kincaid and Herbert Romerstein)

9. Obama Had a Close Relationship with the "Anti-Capitalist" Group ACORN - "Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn)...Chicago Acorn appears to have played a major role in Obama’s political advance...Acorn’s radical agenda sometimes shifts toward “undisguised authoritarian socialism.” Source: Stanley Kurtz, National Review

10. Obama Attended Several Meetings with the Democratic Socialists in Chicago and Was even Endorsed by Them - "Obama’s socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the “champions” of “Chicago’s democratic left” and a long-time socialist activist. Obama’s stint as a “community organizer” in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored." Obama studied at Columbia University under Zbigniew Brzezinski, that should tell one all they need to know, what I find hysterical is that I could post the numerous lies made by this Manchurian Candidate during his 2008 campaign run and many people would still believe in his "change"

Hiliary 2020
Paul may not be able to beat obama.......thats what worries me.
I like the guy though.
But the important thing is getting obama out so I hope paul doesn't get the nomination...which he probably wont anyway.

Its bad now,no jobs, businesses going under all over.. but imagine what it will be like in 5 years if asshole gets re-elected...that's scary.

but that's just it, the polls are showing that Paul has the best chance against Obama in 2012

I think Paul would take the majority of republican and independent votes along with a good amount of democrat votes

If that were true, wouldn't Paul be leading the GOP nomination now? At least on track to win at least one primary??? :dunno: AFAIK, he's not leading the polls in any of the GOP primary contests.

My strongest agreement with Paul is in the area of foreign policy. I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, but I think you're correct that Paul would get more than a few Republican, Democrat and Independent votes JUST based on his non-interventionist views. That's primarily what I like about him. But I wouldn't discount the number of Evangelicals, social conservatives and neo-cons that believe that this nation should spend its last dime and sacrifice its last son to protect certain foreign interests. I just don't see the monied interests, Bible thumping social conservatives and lobbyist fueled traitors to the Republic within the GOP allowing Ron Paul to get the nomination.

The one area that Paul continues to be sort of murky on is domestic economic policy. I don't support outright protectionism. But unless we have an administration that will realize that free trade on our side vs. state managed and supported markets on the other side is nothing more than a recipe for disaster, we're just going to continue swirling around the top of the toilet bowl. Money has no master. Capitalism has no devotion to any particular nation or cause. As it pertains to a global economy, this is one thing that (economic) libertarians still don't seem to understand. And I'm afraid this is one area where Ron Paul falls short. But I do see him as one of the more sincere politicians out there. Not without flaws, but he's not a pure slickster like Romney, a wingnut like Santorum or an outright crook like Gingrich.

I hate to admit it because if I was an american I'd likely vote democrat. But if I had to vote republican Paul would get my vote because I feel that even though his foreign policy wouldn't probably paint him out to be, He is from a UK stand point the most conservative. I say this because he would enact austerity measures which would probably as loathe as I am to admit it at least handle your debt crisis.

He's totally right on foreign policy your a empire and like all great empires you will eventually bust a nut, go bankrupt especially if you go into Iran now after all this. You may have got Bin Laden but that guy will be laughing in his grave come 20 years down the line if you pursue absolute hegemony indefinitely instead of fostering alliances and trying to wake us lazy Europeans up to take on our responsibilities.

Mothballing some fleets, the hardware will always be there and trimming down. Removing unnecessary bases like in Japan etc which just fosters anti american sentiment with a potentially important ally in the coming years. However full on isolation would be crazy you need to promote the free trade sphere in between Europe and all allies you can say "fuck Europe blah blah etc" But it was trade that made you strong, And you accepted that role heartily and hence became the world police man.

More soft power and diplomatic grease lightening. Innovation and good moves on the checker board.

Oh yea may also want to pay attention to the Zionists because well holy fuck. Dependency does form a certain kind of loathing. Oh and on this last point, someone can come in here with the usual rehearsed bull. I have no problems with Judaism and I will say...Middle finger to you, this is going to eventually reverberate something bad.

PS> Oh yea paul's lack of alignment with Israel on foreign policy will probably ass fuck him.

+1, big time. I remain convinced that Ron Paul's election would make the world a safer place. Anybody who has read/studied the root causes and conflicts that spawn acts of terrorism will understand what I mean.

Not to mention, think of the money that would be saved if military bases were closed, shady military contractors were shunned, and the whole complex changed from expansion-interventionist-oil-collecting to...well, just what it's supposed to be: defense. The best part is, being commander-in-chief, these are largely the areas over which Paul would have power - 'cause Congress sure as hell won't let him do anything else. Just to assure those of you who worry about his domestic policies.

That is the sad outlook. If he would become President, it would be worse than now, with Republicans vowing to 'Filibuster everything'

He would probably be the first republican president who would have to rely on the other party to work with him, and I think it would not surprise me if he very soon would have a freak accident...

oh you mean like the last President who challenged the validity of the private federal reserve with the signing of executive order 11110 (JFK), I don't think that 76 year old Ron cares, he knows the risks

This too would actually be a good thing, in the long run; if the American people elected Ron Paul and Congress blocked him at every turn, there could quite possibly be a great shake up of Congress two years down the line. Nothing more miraculous than Paul getting elected in the first place, but...

Let's put it this way. Every other candidate - including Obama - is business as usual. Voting for any of them makes no difference whatsoever. With Paul, you at least have some chances - for the same (which to be honest is pretty likely, considering the Executive Branch is only one of three), better or worse. But the rest: the same, slow downhill decline for the USA. One side might throw in a war to speed things up a bit, but the other's not going to be far behind all the same.

the bottom line is US politics is dominated by a two party dictatorship and the people are getting sick and tired of it, the status quo needs to be changed or else the US will cease to be the Free Republic it once was

All the other republican candidates suck balls. I hope Paul gets more popular cause him up against Obama will be some run.

PS> Rome needs it's spectacle!

It is strange to whenever the Paulines say something it usually involves them saying "we are sick of...." as if they speak for anyone else. It is usually followed by some sort of nonsensical statement that shows their ignorance.

My favorite Pauline run ins has been when this past fall, their brilliant idea here in C-bus was to block the traffic flow along Woody Hayes Drive for people going to the football game to get attention. They actually did the same in '07.
