Protecting your home

5.56 for the Bushie. I have a .308 but that's plain overkill.

I've heard that if you hit an intruder your firearm is confiscated so that leaves me wanting to use a crapper bolt action or used 9mm beater.

My CCW instructor was SS for Nixon worked with the Geauga SD for the last two decades.

Pretty much, yeah, even if you aren't charge, they'll try to hold your arm. But I' much rather live through a fire fight and lose my Glock than buy a Hi-Point and take my chances.

It's 2010. Laws benefit criminals. Shit's just gonna get worse.

The last thing I remember about that was the rally the Hell's Angles had for him when Quanell X, New Black Panther leader/charlatan showed up and started to raise some trouble. It was classic. The Angels were all reving their loud as choppers and scared the living shit out of Quanell and his trouble makers. Also all his neighbors showed a lot of support and solidarity in the crowd as well.

So some motorcycle riding meth dealers, who traffic women, took on some crack dealers, who probably traffic women. It's just unfortunate that someone didn't drop a firecracker and they all shot each other to death.

I remember the story of that flakey redneck really well. It's because of people like him that people like me don't/can't mention our firearms ownership in certain public settings.

Same here. The absolute last thing I'd be worried about is what would happen to my firearm should I have to use it to defend myself or my family. And with any crime scene (any shooting is going to be a "crime scene" one way or the other... whether it's the shooter charged or the perp who has committed the crime), the involved firearm is probably going to be taken by the police and held for a time. But unless charges are filed against the gun/homeowner, the gun has to be returned, at least in my state. That's assuming the gun is legal and the gun owner is allowed to own a firearm. If the shooter is a convicted felon with one of Scott's Google built machine guns, then yeah, I doubt he'll be getting that gun back. :D

Too bad for you the law said Horn did nothing wrong. So you are saying you sided with the thugs that threatened his community and violated the law? You should rethink your position. :hatsoff: I saw quite a few more of his neighbors in that crowd than I did bikers (25 to 1?). :nono: The community spoke. Deal with it. I'd much rather have Horn as my neighbor than the criminals that thought breaking into a person's most personal and safe haven is cool.

I always find it interesting (and rather amusing) when a person begins with "so you are saying..." and then they proceed to spin a confused tale of fantasy and foolishness. What I am saying is exactly what I said. I see no need for a retranslation. But for you I'll spell it out further: I don't want to live around a bunch of rednecks who think they're Wild Bill Hickok. And if there's an issue in my community, I don't want a bunch of stinking, drug dealing bikers, or a bunch of racist Black nationalists, coming here to have their say and create even more problems.

I'd rather live exactly where I live... which is why I live here and not some place else. Back in the 80's a group of Pagans began a chapter near here. And within a year the sheriff rode their sorry asses out of town on a rail. If I get on the Board of Supervisors here, I'll put forth measures to get rid of even more of the trash in this county. There's always room for improvement. :) Hey, if they can't stand living under our civilized rules, sounds like they can always move to Bumfuck, Texas and move in with this Horn guy.

I have guns and will use them if anyone tries to enter my home or endanger my family. I have a conceal carry permit and take one with me when I am in the city at night. I will at the least make them think about it the next time.

Yeah, well, I agree that Horn looks like a hick from hell, but did you notice the neighborhood? There wasn't a bunch of double wides sitting around in that 'hood; it was a pretty decent looking 'hood. Whatever. He had to have done something right to have what looked like it might've been a 500K or so pad. :dunno: I don't entirely agree with what he did, but that's life. If you live in a gated community that has a security guard at the gates :)dunno:), I'm very happy for you. There are pleanty of those gated communities around America (how they're eve legal is beyond me), but most people don't have that convenience. Maybe this community had problems before, I don't know.

Did you know the fucks that did the robbery were illegals ( http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&...aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&psj=1&fp=7b989c6c17f79c85)? Yeah, fuck America and our lax laws. If they wouldn't have been here illegally, they'd still be alive today. To hell with them.

No kidding? My uncle worked for the Treasury Dept here in Cleveland and drew detail for VP Spiro Agnew.

Shit, I hate reading my posts after I've been drinking. My grammar is fucking awful.

Anyway, yeah, he was SS for Nixon and Ford. Cool guy...he instructs at Pistol Pete's (which has no indoor range) and does the qualifying via his property a few miles away. I forget where you said you live (Parma?) but you should hit Pistol Pete's just for the fun of it. It's quite amusing.

Them old Secret Service dudes still take that shit serious. A few in my class jokingly asked about what he knew about Nixon that the public doesn't; that's the only time he seemed to lose his general sense of humor. Tight-lipped all the way. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the Nixon/Agnew agents sit down for drinks.

Lastly, I was shitting on the Hi-Point pistols, not the carbines. If anybody wants a fun, cheap, reliable plinker, you still can't beat the 995. Just to clarify.

There's no gun too expensive to protect my home. Davis: the ultimate shooting machine

I keep a Davis .380 I bought for $75 at a pawn shop by my bedside. I'd stake my life on that fine piece of hardware. The only problem with it is the mag catch is broken so I had to wrap some tape around the grip to keep the magazine inside it.

Some of you gun guys... that's a good firearm for home defense, right? :dunno:

vodkazvictim

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
I heard a shotguns the best thing for home defense.
Carrying one around to defend yourself would presumably draw attentiona tho.

So lets say someone broke into your house and is carrying a weapon (knife, gun etc) and you feel your life is threatened.
In your country/state is it ok to hold them at gunpoint or if the situation really escalates wound them (NOT kill them)?

Just wondering cause I saw an episode of SVU and the situation came up.

The brother of a friend once had someone break into his house while he was in at the time. He gave the criminal a beating, and he got charged with assaulting the criminal. This is UK justice.

You have to stand there and let them take what they want. Then you are supposed to ask them where they would like it delivered to.

It is complete horse shit the justice system in the UK. Take the Tony Martin incident years a go. He was a victim and the police did fuck all to help him. He was left alone to deal with it himself. And he got fucked by the system because the system ignored him and left him to deal with it himself and they jailed him for dealing with it himself.

No wonder people hate cops and the whole justice system. It is fucked!.

I live in Texas, so of course we have to politely ask the intruder to leave the premises or we'll have no choice but to call the nearest law enforcement officer to come over right away and escort him out...

I'm sorry, can't stop  after just writing that.

By the way, I heard it right from a cop's mouth that sometimes shooting an intruder in a leg would get you into bigger trouble because had your life been in immediate danger you wouldn't have aimed for the leg, you would have aimed for center mass, the chest or torso area. If you took the time to aim that meant your life wasn't really in danger (or some words to that effect)

well that kind of makes sense, if you take the time to aim your not in immediate danger???
what if you claim your experienced with a gun and are capable of aiming accurately under pressure
