Right ladies and gentlemen I've been thinking how I can do this without breaking the 5 links rule. In the end I can only see two ways of doing it. Ones a lot of work for me or two is asking you great members to do a little work, here are the two ways.

1. I go all the way through the thread and pick out all the numbers of the posts on the winners and post them with the name of the winning post and who posted it. But this also will mean I have to post the page number which it can be found on so you can go straight to it. This will get a little confusing IMO and also need a real lot of work and time spent on it by me. Which will mean it taking a couple of days to get together. The problem here is I'm planning on naming the winner on New Years Eve. So this will only give members a couple of days to vote.

2. Is asking you good members to go through the thread and pick out your own personal favourite winner MOTW. Post it here as your vote for which you think should win POTY.

So I need your opinions on which you think would be best. The second one would give everyone a longer time to vote and more members too. As it would be less work for me and I could open it sooner.

So which do you think ?

Right I'll have them up in the next day or so. The cut off day will be New Years Eve when I announce the winner Jod. Just not sure of the exact time at the moment though, because that day also has another meaning to me

Sorry for double post.

First as I compiled the list I was shocked at the memories of things I'd forgotten and also the members that have gone or left us. It took me nearly 2 hours or so going through the thread.

This thread wasn't originally my idea but McRocket's. IMO he was a great member who I didn't always see eye to eye with. But the thing about McRocket was the passion he had inside of him. As I've said before when he left I took over the thread and had to adapt it for me. Of course there was members who wasn't happy with the way I ran it. But this is just some of the problems I get everyday on this thread. But largely I've enjoyed running the thread, mainly for showing me great posts I may have missed over time. Or just for members giving credit to a great post made by another member.

If you look at the list of names above, some of you won't even reconise any of them or the posts. But if you take time to read the posts and even the members who made them they will give you more understanding about the post.

Now a little bit of a special notice here...

I will be asking the mods to close this thread 1 week after I've announced the winner. As there will be a new thread started for 2007. Also it will not be in the talk section as I've decided that the new thread should be placed in the board games section. After all it's not really a talk subject and as well as it's new home. It will be having the rules and system changed just a little bit. Don't worry not too much but just relaxed in some areas and toughed up in others.

So all there is left to say is thank you everyone who take time to post, nominate and vote in this thread. But can I ask you for at least one more for POTY!

I did think the same Tunsty. But it is all the winners of the contest this year. That was one of them so I thought it had to go in. Pity though I loved that picture and still makes me laugh everytime I see the batman beam of light into the sky even now. Maybe you could post a link to the picture and quote that post again to show everyone what was below it.
