And furthermore, as much as I didn't like Bush, to claim he "fucked up everything he touched" is equally deluded.

c'mon man,
what didn't bush fuck up
economy - fail
jobs - fail
foreign policy - fail

he had to deal with 9/11 and its aftermath, which would've tested the greatest of leaders

but i still think he pretty much "fucked up everything he touched",
at least all the big things :2 cents:

If this had turned out to be a complete and utter disaster, I hope your above post is exactly what you would have said.

Presidents always reap the rewards of these operations just as much as they shoulder the blame when they go wrong. Just ask Jimmy Carter about Desert 1/OEC and Clinton about Mogadishu. But I suppose it's okay to tar only Demo Presidents with the blame, but not the credit.

Meanwhile they're quick to hail Reagan for 'winning' a war that ended for all intents and purposes because the Russians couldn't support themselves anymore...and ignore blaming Bush for what happened in the battle of Tora Bora. Ahhh..consistency..:1orglaugh

That's not fair that is like saying Bin Laden was not responsible for killing over three thousand ppl during the attacks ten years ago, it was the terrorists that did it. It's no different if you worked for a company and put in a lot of effort on the floor yet the owner gets all the credit. Just be thankful the meat headed shit sack is long gone.

I hope the water won't be contaminated after throwing BL's corpse out to sea...

Good way to size it up D/C.:hatsoff:

Good analysis. This is no different than how Truman receives most of the credit/spite(depending on which side of the fence you are playing) for dropping the atom bomb on Japan. The guys in The Enola Gay receive nods from time to time, but when most people think of the event, Truman is one of the first names to come up.

Missing the very last post...

"Hey Ayman, you know that thing about 72 virgins...well, turns out it's 72 virgins alright but they're gay, prison inmates with 10 inch peckers..:crying: oh brother, I haven't cursed in so long...how do you say 'fuck!!' again in Arabic? Anyway...gotta run..some red guy is prodding me with his pitchfork to join my new flock.:uohs: I will see you shortly."

You're proving yourself to be a complete idiot with every post you make...

I'm going to say this one time: Obama did NOTHING that brought this to fruition. Nada. Zip. Nothing. If you don't understand that, you need to do a little more thinking and spend a little less time on the internet. He may have given a "yes" when asked if they could take out the compound, but that's it. The military killed him, not the President. He can take all the credit he wants, but it would have happened with anyone in office.

And furthermore, as much as I didn't like Bush, to claim he "fucked up everything he touched" is equally deluded.

Completely black and white statements like these scare me because they reflect NO thought whatsoever, and are becoming far to frequent from extremists on both sides these days. :2 cents:

Nice post CS, I said similar yesterday, the Military deserves most of the credit.
As far as Obama did nothing, zip , nada thats a little harsh no?

couldn't agree more, rep for you mauser.

We can't stop the partisan bullshit even for an event like this?? :dunno::confused::crying::facepalm:

In what way is the USA truly "united" if we cannot all feel some sense of camaraderie and kinship knowing that this outstanding detachment of Navy SEALS accomplished what we have all been striving to achieve for the past 10 years??? Why can't we quit assessing blame or giving credit just this once and simply celebrate the moment as one people??

Long-overdue justice was truly served yesterday courtesy of the red, white and blue. I am and always will be proud to be an American.

exactly, I said similar yesterday.
making this a bush against obama thing is an insult to the people who died and suffered because of this guy.
no reason this should be a reason to get into bush sucks, obama's great or vice versa.

I know this is probably a bad time and an awkward place to ask, but what the hell; Who's boobs are those?

Dude, Dude get your mind out of the gutter for just one minute why don't you.
( But if you find out who she is let me know, I wanna look her up)

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.

Yes, consistency is a close cousin of logic, ration and reason. And I guess when partisan politics come into play, none of them are welcome in the room.

As far as I know, NO ONE has said that Obama deserves ALL the credit for this action. But to say that he deserves none, is to me... well, let's just say that consistency, logic, ration and reason must be waiting outside.

When the Union lost the First Battle of Bull Run, Lincoln had to shoulder much of the blame. Yet he never picked up a rifle. You mentioned Carter and the failed mission to get the hostages out of Iran. He pretty much took ALL the hits for that... yet he wasn't the one who crashed any helicopters in the desert. And to this day, I know Cubans who curse John F. Kennedy because of the Bay of Pigs disaster.

Hey, I realize this one event isn't going to unite those Americans, who cannot stand the sight of Barack Obama, with the rest of us who just want our nation to be the best it can be, no matter who is POTUS or which party is in power. But just taking a quick look at how these things have played out over our history, for one to totally dismiss Obama's willingness to put his ass on the line, along with the lives of those brave soldiers, is rather sad, IMO. Let's all be honest. If this had gone to shit, many/most of the very same people who don't want to give him any credit now would be ripping Obama a new asshole on here if dead Seal team members were getting dragged naked through the streets in Pakistan. True or not???

And IMO, it's not improper to give George W. a kick for saying that he didn't know and didn't really care where Osama was in 2005... when apparently it was in 2005 that Osama was working on his luxury villa in Pakistan!

Yeah...I was just illustrating how like clockwork the same types who ran Clinton into the ground over Mogadishu, Carter in the ground over D1/OEC are the same ones dismissing credit to Obama for this op. BTW, the second incredibly successful op Obama has directed be undertaken.

c'mon dude......man......sir.

why does this have to be a competition?

And for whatever its worth people here started putting down Bush right out of the gate.
I mean why do that anyway?
What's the reason?
Is it to take any opportunity possible to say " Bush sucks"?

And for the record while Bush was Prez Saddam was captured......and he was a mass murderer sick fuck , his number 2, his son, another sick fuck and the guy who planned september 11th was caught as were scores of other threats to the free world.
powerful threats, serious criminals.
So it wasn't like he just sat on his ass.

I know you know these things and aren't dismissing them but many are.
Again I don't see why we need the us against them mentality in this country from either side at a time like this, are we that lame?

It's not a competition until some of the same people inclined to tie around the necks of Clinton and Carter blame for failed ops they ordered start decrying credit attributed to Obama for successful ops he ordered.

These same people whining over Obama thumping his chest (when he's done no such thing) were at best indifferent to grandstanding by Bush on a carrier flight deck after US troops pulled down some statue of Saddam. Then heaping credit on Bush for Saddam, Uday and Qusay...when no one (other than the Israeli lobby) asked him to go after them for 9-11.:dunno:

As was alluded to so brilliantly by DeepCover...if we're not going to give Obama credit for this why the fuck are we blaming, hunting, killing and tossing out to sea OBL for 9-11???

yeah I saw deeps point.
I can see saying if youre not gonna give Obama credit for this than you can't place blame for Kennedy, Carter, Clinton even Bush ect for things that went wrong militarily when they were the big cheeses.
But the Osama point does not apply to that.
The guy was the leader of a major terrorist crew , he spent millions of his own money to start it and he gave the go ahead for tons of murder and destruction......attacks on foreign lands.
Of course he must be blamed all the way no matter how you look at it.

It's May 3rd and Osama Bin Laden is still dead!

(Apologies to Chevy Chase, if needed ;)

...and in other news, Cuban President Fidel Castro anounced today he is pulling out of Angola.........

........a frustrated Angola could not be reached for comment.

Baah doom tish!....

Beating Saddams Iraq was NOT a challenge. It was a piece of piss.

I agree completely. All the partisan crap is just so predictable and petty. Give W and BHO both some "credit", enjoy the news, and move on. It's not like it will change the way anyone votes anyway.

Of course BHO is going to try and take credit for it, but any republican would be doing the same exact thing if he was in office. I just try to ignore all that phoney stuff and spend my time thinking about what's really important.
