Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
I don't really know what's going on with Harding. The off season (which we'll be in within a week) should yield more insight on the mess of a goalie situation. IMO Kuemper should be the goalie of the next half decade and I am not sure about Harding. Brygalov didn't let in a bunch of junk but he's just not a guy I trust with the future. Harding led the league this season when he played in GAA and save percentage but not sure how his health will affect his situation going forward. Pretty sure Backstrom is done, although I would not mind seeing him continue on here but at a lesser hit to the cap.
That game #1 loss was devastating to the Wild. The Avs are an excellent team on the rise. Still, I think the Wild have a chance to come back in this series. I can't help but root for them since there are so many Aeros that are on the squad....Kuemper, Granlund, Brodin, Scandella, Coyle, Fontaine....all former Aeros. If the first period tonight is any indication, the Wild are letting it all out so I would hope they can win tonight and maybe build some momentum from there. The Avs are extremely talented but really young so they might tend to get discouraged pretty easily if the Wild can gain the upper hand in this series. Let's hope that happens.
In the meantime....game #3 of the Blues/Blackhawks coming up in less than 20 minutes. I'll be hoping the Blues can take at least one game at the Madhouse. It won't be easy, that's for sure.
Columbus looks loaded for bear against Pittsburgh. I hope they take the Pens down. The Detroit/Boston series looks like it will be a serious struggle as well. The Habs look like they are for real. Some really great hockey going on so far in the playoffs....there's nothing like it in sports, anywhere. Love me some Stanley Cup playoff hockey!!!
