I don't really know what's going on with Harding. The off season (which we'll be in within a week) should yield more insight on the mess of a goalie situation. IMO Kuemper should be the goalie of the next half decade and I am not sure about Harding. Brygalov didn't let in a bunch of junk but he's just not a guy I trust with the future. Harding led the league this season when he played in GAA and save percentage but not sure how his health will affect his situation going forward. Pretty sure Backstrom is done, although I would not mind seeing him continue on here but at a lesser hit to the cap.

That game #1 loss was devastating to the Wild. The Avs are an excellent team on the rise. Still, I think the Wild have a chance to come back in this series. I can't help but root for them since there are so many Aeros that are on the squad....Kuemper, Granlund, Brodin, Scandella, Coyle, Fontaine....all former Aeros. If the first period tonight is any indication, the Wild are letting it all out so I would hope they can win tonight and maybe build some momentum from there. The Avs are extremely talented but really young so they might tend to get discouraged pretty easily if the Wild can gain the upper hand in this series. Let's hope that happens.

In the meantime....game #3 of the Blues/Blackhawks coming up in less than 20 minutes. I'll be hoping the Blues can take at least one game at the Madhouse. It won't be easy, that's for sure.

Columbus looks loaded for bear against Pittsburgh. I hope they take the Pens down. The Detroit/Boston series looks like it will be a serious struggle as well. The Habs look like they are for real. Some really great hockey going on so far in the playoffs....there's nothing like it in sports, anywhere. Love me some Stanley Cup playoff hockey!!!

If the Blackhawks lose again tonight, I'm going to punch a baby. Fuck, I hate the Blues. Anybody but them.

I can't handle the Blackhawks losing, the Pacers imploding, and the Cubs playing at their usual level of awful all at the same time. So much fail.

Varlamov is just too good.

I don't understand the offense on this team. Pommer, Moulson, Parise, and all the other second tier guys we have and we some times just can't produce. Threw 46 shots at that fucker and were lucky to squeak out a 1-0 win.

Was thinking that we'll get one win and Colo cruises to a 4-1 series win. I suspect Colo wins the next two.

The series could easily be 2-1 Minnesota. Besides game 2, Minny seems to have been the better team. I wouldn't throw in the towel yet.

Any predictions on how long Wild Matt Cooke will be suspended for his knee on knee hit to Tyson Barrie? I say 5 games.

Matt Cooke's Suspension History:

Feb. 19, 2004: 2 games-spearing (Matt Johnson, Min)
Jan. 20, 2009: 2 games- Ilegal check to head (Scott Walker, Car)
Nov. 28, 2009: 2 games-Ilegal check to head (Artem Anisimov, NYR)
Feb. 8, 2011: 4 games-Hit from behind (Fedor Tyutin, CBJ)
March 20, 2011: 17 games – 10 regular season and first round of playoffs-Elbow to the head (Ryan McDonagh, NYR)

I don't say this lightly. He should be banned. The league wants to get rid of the types of hits he infamously delivers. He is not an offensive stalwart, he doesn't have great speed. He is a dinosaur and should be gone.

Nor would I. If they can take game #4, this thing is up for grabs. Granlund's goal was a thing of beauty. I watched him play many games in an Aeros uniform and, believe me, this kid is a special talent.

Glad the Bruins got back to their gameplan in 2 and 3. If not for Datsyuk, this could be all but over for the Wings. Who knows what would have happened if game 1 went to OT? Anyways, Tuukka appears to have a firm grip around the throat of this series. The only way the wings win it is if he lets go.

If the Bruins take both games at the Joe, it's all over for Babcock and his Wings. I'm thinking they will and it is.

Detroit may have played its best game of the playoffs in Game 1. They can't sustain that type of energy and effort. Just not deep enough. Babcock is a good coach, hopefully he is not let go.

Rough watching Detroit get beat down like this. Boston isn't fuckin around.

Babcock won't be let go. Wings would be stupid to do so. This isn't a coaching problem. Boston is just in final boss mode. I can't see anyone in the East giving them a serious run.

Lord please let Columbus eliminate Pittsburgh. Dubinsky is running Crosbys show.

There's one team in the EC that can give us a real challenge, and we'll be playing them in the next round if we finish off the Wings. It delsnt matter how good we are, or how bad they are, the Habs ALWAYS give is a hard time. I think we'll beat them, but I wouldn't be shocked if they knocked us off in 6 or 7. Doesn't hurt that they always seem to have the refs in their back pocket.

And yes, I reaaaaally hope Columbus takes the pens down. I'm not afraid of them, but I'd love to see Crosby humiliated by the Jackets.

As a life-long Red Sox fan, I can honestly say there is no organization I despise as much as the Montreal Canadiens. I didn't even like it when members of the Canadiens scored for Team USA and Team Canada in Sochi.

Can't wait to taste the tears of unfathomable sadness from Blues fans after game 6 in Chicago on Sunday.

A drive-by post coming from a bandwagon fan who wouldn't even be posting here if he didn't have something to gloat over. If the Hawks were losing you wouldn't even show your face here. Where have you been all year in this thread, Andro?

Hey Scott....where the hell is Jason Zucker? This Wild offense would benefit greatly from him being a part of it. Kuemper has been awesome so far tonight. Go Aeros....er, I mean Wild. ;) :D

I don't post much in any of the sports threads on FO. I don't believe that posting activity makes one a true fan.

My comment was made because of my general disdain for all sports teams from St. Louis. If the Hawks had anyone else on the brink of elimination, I wouldn't be posting. But since it's the Blues, and Chicago came back from an 0-2 deficit... well, I had to say something.

And I did make a post when the series was 0-2.
