Big win tonight , the only negative is Martin ST.Louis who had to leave the game and it looked like a possible concussion on that dirty hit by Chris Thorburn.
He had a tough time skating and fell behind the atlanta net. I liked that Matt Walker fought Thorburn right after he came out the penalty box , he gave him a good beating. I really really hope that Marty is ok. Vincent Lecavalier has played much better in the last two games but still we need Marty to make the playoffs.

from Erlondsson's twitter:

"Paul Kennedy reporting on Sun Sports that Marty St. Louis will be OK after hit by Clarke McArthur. #TBLightning don't play again until Tues"

it was actually Clark MacArthur who leveled St. Louis. Thorburn was run over by Downie.

So even Walker thought it was Thorburn :1orglaugh. It's good to know that Marty is ok , we really need him to beat montreal on tuesday.

I may be Canadian, but I don't give a shit about any Canadian team. They're the opposition as far as I'm concerned. Anybody not named Wings or Kings can GTFO.

Do you like any of the AHL teams up there? I know the juniors are decent as well. Shattuck St. Mary's had like the best damn junior team in the country back when Crosby was on the team, but I never got out that way to check them out. I've started to gravitate more to college hockey lately; lots of good players and they always leave everything on the ice. Considering my state has like five teams in the WCHA it's pretty cool, and they are all rivalries. It's a shame there aren't more teams in college hockey except for the east coast, the midwest and Michigan.

Vancouver will get in. Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal aren't looking too good. At least you guys got the gold, if that's any consolation.

Ottawa will get in too.

I don't follow AHL much. Just NHL and occasionally I'll go to a Spitfires game for something to do. They're owning the OHL this year. Again.

Yeah you do have the OHL up there. I used to collect those cards. So many good players came out of the OHL. I think the IHL merged with the AHL so there's like 40 damn teams in that league.

Meh, I find the coverage pretty poor. And sporadic - they often show crap like bull riding instead. Whatever.

Plus, all the taxes and fees they levy make a lot of places just dump their coverage. I just want the NHL taken away from them.

Which is not to say that ABC/ESPN is a lot better. just more consistent.

I lost a lot of respect for ESPN when they dropped NHL 2night. Either way the league is thriving and attendence is good. That's the main thing. League minimum is around $470,000 a year, which is real good.

I'm not sure how good attendance is. Obviously places like Atlanta and Phoenix are having troubles (Nashville is actually in the black, so they're actually doing pretty good), but even Colorado is having problems filling up their arena. Which makes no sense at all.

more miserable play by the Lightning...shocking.

Both goalies have sucked in the last 5 or 6 games so I think it's time for Tocchet to choose one of those two ( even though they both suck ) to be the number one untill the end of the season. I think the two goalie alternance system is not a very good one at this point in the season.

it's great being in the same position we've been in since 2006...
