Broncos signed DE Randy Gregory, formerly of the Cowboys, to a five-year, $70 million contract.

There are usually a couple of players who change their minds during the "legal tampering" period every year, but this move is more unusual than most given the official Twitter account for the Cowboys announced the deal just minutes before news of a contract with the Broncos broke. Regardless of how he got there, Gregory is going to offer some much needed pass-rush punch opposite Bradley Chubb on Denver's defense. The Gregory signing would seemingly put to bed any thoughts of Von Miller returning to the Broncos.

Davante Adams traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams also signs a contract with his new team making him the highest paid WR in league history.

Davante Adams' agent confirmed that the Packers were offering more money than the Raiders, but that it was Adams' "lifelong dream" to play for the Raiders.

It was assumed in some quarters that the initial leaks that Green Bay was offering more money than Vegas was Packers damage control, but it is harder to refute when the player's agent confirms it. Adams' reasons for leaving Green Bay will probably be a topic of local obsession for months to come, but it really could be as simple as wanting to play for his childhood rooting interest with his college quarterback Derek Carr. In barely-noticed comments from last summer, Adams said it would be a "dream" to play with Carr. To the Packers' horror, it has come true.

Browns agreed to a five-year, $230 million contract restructure with Deshaun Watson.

The trade is now official with the Browns sending three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a fourth-round pick on top of giving Watson a new deal. For what it is worth, they are getting a fifth back from Houston. The contract is expected to be fully guaranteed. It will be $80 million more in guarantees than any other contract in the history of the league. The trade and spending mean Cleveland is going all-in on their current roster, as they won't be adding any high-profile rookies anytime soon.

I am glad this is over. Also glad he is not coming to Carolina. Also also glad that he is not going to Atlanta but their pursuit of Watson seems to have damaged their relationship with Matt Ryan.

Matthew Stafford has signed an extension with the Rams - 4 years, $160 million

Robert Woods traded to the Titans.

Nattering Nabob of Negativism
You only get a 3rd round pick for the second-highest paid player in NFL history? I understand he is past his prime, but he is a quality QB with a track record of being healthy.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Falcons have continued to field trade calls on Matt Ryan.

Ryan was initially available because the Falcons were expected to trade for Deshaun Watson, with the Falcons moving back Ryan's roster bonus until Monday to help facilitate a trade. With Watson now in Cleveland, the Falcons are still open to moving on from Ryan, reportedly fielding trade calls over the weekend. Ryan would be a solid addition for a competitive roster, but will turn 37 in May, and is a band-aid fix at this point in his career. Ryan's $7.5 million roster bonus at 4 pm eastern on Monday effectively serves as his trade deadline.

ATL didn't want to pay Ryan. They took what they could get..

Gutless is gonna get the blame but it wasn't his decision to let him go. It's the NFL so I don't buy this lifelong dream horseshit. Mark Murphy greenlighted a huge payout to keep Rodgers in Green Bay for the next four years while Adams was wearing the franchise tag. The money Vegas shelled out sealed the deal. The Pack isn't doing anything in free agency except shedding talent. The Draft will likely be a joke. Meanwhile Aaron is shopping for a new mansion.

Happy Falcon's Blown Lead Day. Today, 3-28, we celebrate Atlanta's historic collapse in Super Bowl 51, losing the game despite having a 3-28 lead in the 3rd quarter. May your Falcon's Blown Lead Day be merry and bright.

I remember that like it was yesterday. My buddy at work was a Pats fan. He called me at halftime and said it was all over. I told him, "Yeah. It looks that way." Neither of us had any idea......

I traveled over an hour to watch that SB at a buddy of mine's house. Between the travel time and having a few beers, I packed an overnight bag. If I hadn't already planned on staying overnight, I would have left at half-time. I'm glad I watched the entire thing!

Bruce Arians is stepping down at Buccaneers Head Coach. Todd Bowles has been promoted to replace him.

Whoa.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is retiring and will join Tampa Bay's front office.

Per NBC's Peter King, 69-year-old Arians is taking a "senior consultant" role in the Bucs' front office, and DC Todd Bowles has been promoted to head coach. There were whispers of a potential Arians retirement after last season, but he seemed all in at another run in 2022. Especially with Tom Brady coming back, the timing of this is odd, but Arians wants to go out on top rather than in a rebuild. There have also been rumors that Arians and Brady's relationship is strained, but that isn't believed to be true. Arians handpicked Bowles as his successor. "With the organization in probably the best shape it’s been in its history, with Brady coming back, I’d rather see Todd in position to be successful and not have to take some [crappy] job," Arians said. "I’m probably retiring next year anyway, in February. So, I control the narrative right now. I don’t control it next February because [if] Brady gets hurt, we go 10-7, and it’s an open interview for the job. I got 31 [coaches and their] families that depend on me. My wife is big on not letting all those families down." Respect to Arians, that's a classy move, especially if he wasn't all the way in on coaching this year. Arians retires with a career 89-51-1 coaching record, one Super Bowl title, and two Coach of the Year awards. Arians has a shot at the Hall of Fame.

Yak: I saw that. New Orleans must REALLY like TWO Top-20 players / think that they fill voids in the roster, that will take them deep in the playoffs. And/or, to replace a player (on a rookie contract?) that is about to get PAID .. and they want to get a top-tier replacement player on a minimal (rookie) contract. Actually - yeah, that is probably it. They were in THE WORST cap situation of the ENTIRE LEAGUE, when the off-season started.
