NFL 2014 Draft

If Clowney is there at #2, the Rams will likely get some attractive trade offers and move down. If Houston takes him, rumors are running wild that the Rams might take Johnny Manziel and trade Sam Bradford to Minnesota to work with Norv Turner. I really think it's a smokescreen to hedge our bets to make another team possibly offer a trade to move up to #2. I really see the Rams taking an OL....either Matthews or Robinson as their first pick in the first round and then go after a safety (either Clinton-Dix or Prior) with their 2nd pick. I'd be happy with that....especially if we get some extra picks out of it. Personally, I'd take Sammy Watkins with the 2nd pick if we can't trade it. He's a dead-cinch lock to be a perennial pro-bowler.

Certainly would love to see the rams go offense their D is one or two people from being scary and as a Seahawks fan I don't want a forth strong D in the NFC West. I personally don't see Manziel as an upgrade to Bradford.

It's all just rumor now. The Rams would have to alter their entire offense to accommodate a QB like Manziel and I just don't see that happening. Still....who knows?? There's also a contingent that wants us to take Clowney if Houston passes on him. Can you imagine our D-line with Langford and Brockers anchoring the middle and a rotation of Long, Quinn And Clowney at DE?? OMG what a pass rush we would have! We'll find out tomorrow.

Yeah that's quite a rotation for the front four. If I was the GM of your team I would trade down and get meaner on the OL or draft one of the monster OLinemen. You have a smart coach I'm sure it will be a smart move regardless.

to trade to the 1 pick the texans want 3 1s and a 2nd rounder. the Rams will get a lot of play at 2 but Sammy Watkins will go in the first 5 and watch for the lions and jets both try hard to move up

I think the Texans can't pass up on Clowney. It's all about facing Andrew Luck twice a year for the next 10+ seasons.

It probably won't happen, but I'm hoping Manziel falls to the Cowboys. That would seem like the perfect marriage.

Manziel will NOT fall past Jerry Jones.

If anything else, jersey sales will pay the electric bill at JerryWorld.

I hate the Niners but I have to wonder what you are thinking by this comment. The Niners are set at QB for years to come with Kaepernick....unless you were being facetious.

Not that I would look to replace him right now, but I'm one of the people that's not really sold on Kaepernick. Besides the off the field stupidity the has gone through the past two or so years he seemed much worse last year when people finally started figuring him out. It wouldn't shock me if he becomes more pedestrian in performance as time goes on, especially when he's not in such an advantageous position of being with the 49s like they are right now.

It could be argued some of the applies to Wilson also (minus the off the field stuff), but I think he's actually shown a little more skill at the position and is safer long term.

According to this, Texans want three first round picks for teams looking to trade up. Everybody says Clowney is a once in a lifetime prospect, but that is pretty steep.

Yeah, that's the kind of valuation I've been seeing. I suppose if we bounce back (and you being a Panthers fan I'm guessing that's something you won't want to see yourself) and the other two first round draft picks ended up being at the back end of the first round I could go with it. I don't like the idea of giving up any picks for a draft beyond next year, that's the bit that seems like selling the farm to me.

People buy tickets to this? I understand the importance of the event but Radio City for a glorified college graduation ceremony? I don't get it. The good old NFL, Make a few million bucks from something that was done by conference calls. Have there been any betting lines on this?

Anybody else enjoy watching Manziel fall in the draft? It makes me giggle...

I was actually surprised the Packers didn't get somebody to trade for their pick with Manziel there.

Guess TT liked "haha" quite a bit.

Although the puns, my god THE PUNS... Sports sites list him with 2-4 different names for that matter.

I was surprised to see Dallas pass on Manziel, I was surprised Manziel went before Bridgewater, I was surprised Bortles went before both of them.

Was hoping Benjamin would stay long enough for SF to grab him, and when he went to CaroLina I hoped they would pick up Lee. Really didn't expect to hear Jimmie Ward selected. Looks like the plan is to start him at nickel and build him up to replace Bethea.

Also, when was the last time no RBs went in the first round?

As long ago as last year. I think RBs have now officially joined the list of positions with kickers and punters as those were it will be very surprising to see any of them being drafted in round one.

manziel ended up in the right place as did bridgewater. bortles was a reach at 3. The Raiders must have been doing cartwheels when mack was available to take at 5
