NFL '14 Season Thread

I'm not going to pretend to be an NFL intellectual, but it appears that being a good qb is all about being a "game manager", even though that term is used in a derogatory way. Warner and Manning are both great qb, and are not considered "game managers", but they both have pick 6s in sb staining their records.

I forgot to add Kurt Warner to the list also. He even should get bonus points to people that think like you guys because he lost two superbowls and one with a historically great team that was beaten by a much inferior team.

I know your comment is tongue-in-cheek but it irks the shit out of me every time someone says that Warner and the Rams "lost" Super Bowl XXXVI to New England. Bellichick and his minions stole that game from the Rams. The Rams beat the Pats on the road earlier that season, were a 14-point favorite in the "big game", possessed perhaps the most potent offense known to mankind and yet somehow they ended up losing. It's pretty well documented that Bellichick cheated in order to gain that tainted win and may he fucking rot in hell (if there was one) for doing so. Check that....he probably would not be welcome in hell since Satan would be fearful that he might take over. See Marshall Faulk's comments about it here:

As for as the second loss....well, yeah it was legit but if ANYONE would have had the presence of mind to push James Harrison out of bounds as time ran out in the half there likely would have been a different outcome. As it turns out, that didn't happen and Pittsburgh won....legitimately....not like NE.

Sorry to rant....it just pisses me off big time.

I am still not convinced the last Steelers' TD was legit and why was there no flag thrown for the receiver taking off his helmet in the end zone? Give Warner those 15 yards and the end may be different. But, once the Steelers reach the SB, refs usually to have black and yellow stripes instead of black and white. That ridiculous SB vs. Seattle was over once the league started "The Bus" celebrations a week before kickoff. Fuck Pittsburgh and its steroid-using history (but since they are a favored franchise we won't discuss that aspect of their history).

Yes!!! What you said baby!! Down with ' The Rapist ' and his fraudulent Super Bowl!!! Wanted the Bus love in more than credibility!!!! Really enjoyed watching my Seahawks win their 2nd Super Bowl this year.

He shouldn't have even been brought up in the first place, he had nothing to do with what I was talking about. Plunkett was before my time but it doesn't seem like he's talked about much, sure he was good just not great.

Plunkett was a bust that ended up with the Raiders loaded teams and found his game again. Good QB not great.

Plunkett was considered a bust because he played for the very shitty Patriots. They had John Hannah and that was about it. Plunkett's knees were destroyed. With the Raiders, Plunkett was Dan Pastrorini's back-up until Dan got hurt. I never did understand the Raiders trading Stabler for Pastorini, but it worked out for the Raiders in the long run.

Michael Vick to the Jets. Are you kidding me? That's the answer to this team's problems? He's going to get plowed 150 times this year and how long can he stand up to that? A crop of receivers that can't run patterns or catch the ball if they get to it. Eric Decker is a new target but Payton isn't tossing the ball to him this year. They were lucky at 8-8 scoring only 18 pts. per game. They damned sure have the money to spend.

Other than the Yankees and Giants, the NY teams seem hellbent on being fodder for tabloids more than championship contenders.

Julius Peppers going to Green Bay, confirms in my mind he shouldn't bothered going to Chicago in the first place. After all the fuss/reasons that he made about leaving, he's wasted his time at Chicago. He's achieved nothing there. It's s black hole in his career.

You've got that right. Many reasons for that. 3 tabloids, MSG and Yes networks, and no college worth caring about. Plus the people will pay anything to go to games. Why do the Knicks continue to sell out every night with some paying up to $3k for a ticket? They haven't won a championship in over 40 years. Since the 1969 Jets Superbowl win they have only won the division twice. No shortage of succors to buy those tickets. Remember the Tim Tebow hype? The Jets got a lot of mileage out of that.
