NFL '11 Season Thread

This offense will go down in history as the best offense to ever play the game. Even if they don't win the super bowl

Considering all the high power offenses that have come about, and all the ones that are here just this year, it's more than likely this will not look as great in context looking back on it in the future, and it won't be as significantly above other teams to merit being the best. We seem to be in an era of insane passing stats. I could also argue that both Green Bay and New England have pretty much as good of an offense as the New Orleans does right now.

I forgot what year, but the "Greatest Show On Turf" era of the St. Louis Rams is the best offense, imo. They just had more balance offensively than the Saint do.Also, the 16-0 Patriots from a few years ago would probably be right up there,if not better.

I will say this though, even though Rodgers is having a ridiculously great year,I think that Drew Brees is having a better one.If I had a vote, mine would go to Brees for MVP.

 The 2000, 2001 and 2002 St. Louis Rams were absolutely the best offense I have ever seen....no disrespect to the present-day Saints or Packers intended. It's simply the truth.

God, I'm getting so sick of people saying the Steelers are the team to beat because of their history and how they won the super bowl a few years ago. So what if they've made it to the playoffs the past few years and have a great history??? Stop looking at the past and look at them now. They're old and banged up. They're not the 'team to be worried about'. Sometimes these 'sport experts' just get on my nerves.

You guys are forgetting the Queens from '98. They are in the discussion and it is no discussion that they are. The only lacking they had was Robert Smith but even he was a horse. Carter, Reed and the record setting Moss rookie season was the best time I ever had watching the Queens in my life. Anderson didn't miss a field goal all year either if I remember correctly Although I have to say Warner is my favorite player of all time and the St. Lou jerseys the year he shocked the world are some of the best in NFL history. Why the fuck did they go to those new ugly gold blue rags anyway?

GO TEXANS!!! Great play by JJ Watt! Foster had a great game as well :) and let's not forget about Andre Johnson and his TD... after 9 years with the Houston Texans, that catch couldn't have capped it off for him

:)

Damn right! This team is incredible. They'll be serious underdogs against the Ravens next and I like it that no one is talking about them.

Yes!!! Bring back the old Rams unis!!!

The thing about the saints is that they are amazing at passing and pretty good at running too. The patriots are maybe decent at the run, but green bay has almost no running game.

But, you guys are dead on about the rams. I have no clue how I forgot about then. I think the Saints are deffinetly in the top 5.

Shit! I totally forgot about that team, and how could I?

And you are right.Anderson didn't miss a single FG in the regular season, but missed the most important one of his entire career at the end of the NFC Championship game that would've sent the Vikes to the Superbowl.Instead,he missed it,they went to OT,where the Falcons ended up kicking a the game winner and going instead.Talk about one of the biggest choke jobs in sports, considering just how potent that offense was.

But I digress.I would say that Vikings offense, the 2000 Rams, and the 16-0 Pats are the best offensive units ever.

I don't get the deal with the Matt Ryan hype, he's really not that good, hes just an above average QB. nothing elite about him.

Thank God somebody else sees it too. He's a good QB when he's at home, but he is below/right on the line of average on the road. He seems to have a great groups of Recievers and the playcalling doesn't seem to be to bad. I don't get why he can't get it done on the road. But, it makes me happy.

Don't remind me. I remember that day very much; who I was with, what I was wearing, and the weather outside. Everything. Probably the most devastating sports meltdown in our state's entire history. That team was so fucking good and so fun to watch.

The only other QB I would want on my team other than Rodgers is Brees, that's it. They are the best, they deserve the hype, not Matt Ryan! It just annoys me how the so called experts act like hes Joe Montana or somethin'.

Brady plays pretty damn well in the cold in New England. I suspect he would tear some shit up if he was in Lambeau in a Packers jersey in January.

And ryan has just been stuffed on the second 4th and short but he's elite!

Nicks your a beast, this game will make me 3 for 3 on playoff picks, I can predict the future when it comes to football :D

Every game has that one highlight that defines the game. The texans had foster's tiptoe, sideline run. The saints had the wide open pass to Meachem. And this one had Nicks making 3 defenders at once miss the tackle and run 50 more yards for the TD.
